    Grizzly (Xzibit) and Stork (Anthony Anderson) are critter cops who are investigating a disturbance of the peace at between Granny (Glenn Close), her granddaughter Little Red Riding Hood (Anne Hathaway), a Big Bad Wolf (Patrick Warburton) and a Woodsman (James Belushi). As the duo interviews the parties involved they suspect Granny is not as helpless as she lets on, Red has hidden motives, Wolf is not much of a predator and the Woodsman might be as dense as the tress he cuts down.

    The reason behind the movie budget being 8.000.000 is that it was re-voiced over. Original animation company had close to none extra money, then the movie was bought (by that bold Minions guy, I believe) and voiced by more expensive live action actors.

    • @Sassaparilla
      @Sassaparilla Před měsícem +4

      No. The movie was privately financed by Maurice Kanbar. Very late in its production, it was taken up by the Weinstein Brothers for the handling of distribution, and there was some recasting at the end due to this, but most of the costs went to the Animation, which even though the price had dropped by the time it was produced, was still very expensive. Even though there were multiple high profile VAs in the original dubbing, they were not being paid a lot, they were paid scale. P Warburton, according to his own statements, only made around 20K due to the Weinsteins taking over distribution and Harvey screwing over multiple actors in the process.
      P Warburton was actually the first big voice to join the cast, but he was followed in the original casting by names such as David Ogden Stiers and Tom Kenny (who while no longer voicing Woolworth, Wolf W Wolf's informant, Kenny still voiced one of the cop side characters).

    Thats fking insane to think about, and especially since its the studio's first movie and we're actively learning how to animate as they went along.

  • @filipvadas7602
    @filipvadas7602 Před 18 dny +1

    This movie is the definition of don't judge a book by its cover.
    This movie could have *easily* been just another low effort fairy tale parody trying to ride the laurels of Shrek's success
    But instead they actually put in a ton of effort and made something really special. The writting and dedication to continuity is great, the voice actors clearly had a ton of fun and I the animators, despite having 0 experience with 3D before this, clearly got better and better as production went on as there is noticeable improvement in animation in the latter half of the movie.
    Hell, even the various dubs of the movie are equally hillarious because this is one of those movies where the humor was adapted *really* well in any version.
    Just a shame that some idiot decided to get rid of EVERYONE who worked on this movie for the disasterpiece that was Hoodwinked 2
