Harvey was actually supposed to hit our area (corpus christi) but took a last minute turn & hit a few smaller cities above us (rockport is where most people passed due to the hurricane) & the rains & floods actually hit laredo & houston & san antonio the worst(where people passed due to the waters) before it even hit the news broadcasters & guards were literally announcing on every news station that the people should “write their social security numbers on their arms to help identify the bodies if anything where to happen to them” it was awful. We were without power for days & some areas for weeks/months. They gave out emergency foodstamps & free hospital visits to anybody that needed them during this time. There was a lot of organizations that were put together & went to donate clean water & emergency medical kits & food to the people that were most affected by it. It was/is by far one of the worst storms to ever hit texas since the hurricane back in the 90’s i believe.

Rebecca Fokes immediately after the hurricane and when trucks were able to drive through the neighborhood, the Red Cross provided meals for maybe 5 days. But since we had never flooded before (even when the flood hit earlier that year and was deemed a “500 year flood”), we didn’t have flood insurance. The only direct help we received was from FEMA, who came out to assess the damage and gave us some money (which was about 1/5 of what we needed to repair everything but many people had it worse so they got more money). Thankfully we didn’t flood as bad as others near us, but it doesn’t take much water to totally ruin floors and walls.

For years I have been saying how lucky I am to live in Australia, we don't have earthquakes, hurricanes or tsunamis. We do get bad bushfires and flooding however. We have low crime compared to other countries and strict gun control.
It's scary how crazy hospitals look like with no people in there. Because remember, hospitals ALWAYS have people in them 24/7!
Look forward to more of your adventures!

Yeah depending on how critical the patients on the wards/section is will take into account how many nurses are working. We have 4 nurses at night as i specialize in cardiothoracic care. But most wards have 3-4 at night. Its a great job but we are at high risk of violence from the patients we care for. Really a rewarding career however

My Mum's a surgeon and there was a bomb threat at the hospital. Everyone else evacuated, but not the patients and nurses and doctors in the operating rooms. They weren't allowed to evacuate cause there was an open body in a sterile area and they couldn't bring it out because of the high risk of infection. So what they have to do is close the patient as soon as possible, and then they can leave.
So my guess is that they had to close up the person as soon as possible before they were allowed to leave.
