Me too, although I'd have to wait an incredibly long time, because the school I went to from PrK3 to Grade 12 was brand new when I started and had always been getting new upgrades up until graduation. So it's still incredibly modern, and I can't see it being abandoned for several decades.

It’s really sad when schools or house just get forgotten,amazing explores are here to return
Imagine going to your school and exploring all the little hidden areas that you've never seen, the teachers lounge and teacher's bathroom. It would be amazing. It would be kind of sad to see all the rooms falling apart because that's where memories were created.

It's a Great thing you took your yearbook with you, because the next time you come to revisit the school, there is no telling how the school would look in the future! In the making of this video, at least the school looked great while it was abandoned, but sadly we all know what happens in America to abandoned buildings. I'm glad you were able to revisit your school, where I live, my elementary school is being expanded due to a growing population of students. Great Video!
Abandoned places are so beautiful! Especially the history behind it! I always want to go to bring ghost hunting equipment and go to an abandoned school,home, ect. I wanna start a CZcams channel and be an urban explorer cause their always beautiful and sad when it's vandalized. But schools are probably the coolest places. I love watching things like this on CZcams

salvatore I yes, the county had been building a huge consolidated school called letcher county central high school, after we graduated that summer everyone else had summer break then began there new school year in the consolidated school, my old high school set abandoned for around 10 years, we sneaked into it a few years ago and it had really went down hill from being abandoned, recently a health clinic or something bought it or part of it and moved into it

As much as I hate school, I would break down in tears if I saw my school abandoned, ruined and empty. All my memories. All the flashbacks. All the images of me and my friends. I now understand what people mean by “I miss school, I wish I was your age to go to school”

Seeing how enthusiastic he is and how clearly vivid his memories are with where he remembered every room gave me chills. This was very personal for him you can tell, it’s like walking back in time. It must be overwhelming for him, when he found his old yearbook, goosebumps man!
School isn't my favourite thing, but I would cry if I saw my primary school abandoned and forgotten about. All the memories I made with my friends, all the friendships, all the fights, everything.

I can't even comprehend how that must feel. The schools I went to are all still in use and they even finished expanding the second elementary school with a second floor after I left for middle school. To go back and find either elementary school I went to or my middle or high schools closed down and completely abandoned, I think that would upset me more than anything else it would make me feel.

Savannah Ferrell I'm not sure if this is true but we will never know the real answer but maybe because at the start of the video he said the school shut because a lot of chemicals and it was old so maybe they didn't want to take the desks and chairs incase they were containing chemicals and then brought them into the new school, or it could just be the simple reason the desks look quite old fashioned and they wanted to give the school a more modern look but idk

Back in 2007 my parents moved across the country and I had to pack up their old house that I grew up in.
If that wasn't bad enough, my best friend's mom moved in afterward with her boyfriend, so the first time my buddy and I went up to visit, I literally couldn't speak for like two hours and just kind of wandered around in a trance until the overwhelming nostalgic feelings wore off.

I have fond memories of each of the schools I've been through, each for better or worse. Unfortunately, my old Elementary school was closed down (but luckily, not abandoned). I'd relish the opportunity to walk through and say hello to any of the teachers who've been there while I was growing up. Many of them don't use social media, but I hope they're all living wonderful lives, and if not, I hope those who are no longer here with us were able to live peacefully, knowing how many lives they've changed. Man, how simple, lucky, and wonderful of a childhood...

Man you are just like me! I’m a 24 year old woman and I LOVE memories like you. And 6th grade to 8th grade were the best times of my life. I met my soulmate at that time too (even tho we are not together now). But i freaking LOVE to explore old places that I used to be at. My middle school is still there and it’s still used. But I did drive by there during school hours and take pictures of the outside. I LOVE how excited you are to be there and explore old memories. I’m the same way man. The same way. I’m glad you got to go there. ❤️

I have managed, after 25 years, to get at least one copy of every single yearbook ever made from both of my high schools, from eBay. That was expensive, but it's cool to have. I have a copy of all of my mom's yearbooks and one of my dad's. He was born in 1928.

My middle school is a very outdoorsy school and it’s not a huge building mine is a huge campus with grassy fields and courts without scary indoor hallways so even if my school were abandoned, I wouldn’t be sad cause it would still look beautiful

Mine 🙋♂️ too... Not exactly a school, but a university. Our classes were on the hilly part of the campus. During the duration of my studies, classes were gradually moved to newer buildings off the hills. Years later, the classrooms blocks in the hilly part was abandoned. Recently, those buildings are now demolished. Really sad to see that. All my memories, gone.
Also, there's blocks of student dormitory which was already abandoned when I began studying there. Those blocks are haunted by a female ghost and djinns and are off limits to students. Now, these blocks are demolished too. University admin decided to return those demolished place back to nature (with some hiking trails for people exercising).

Sometimes it's fine to be there for an hour or so because they worried about long amounts. And it didnt all show up at once kids were there till they closed. They probably worried about the 35 hours a week children would be around the chemicals.
Well, lead, mercury and aspesdos are fine undisturbed. Besides he went to school there for at least 3 years. I think 20 mins won't hurt anymore

I understand how you feel about your awesome school and I actually like your school building! It looks so peaceful and amazing! My school in Vancouver BC Canada where I live was built back in 1910 and in 1912 General Wolfe School had its first few students! And now it's booming with lots of students..I went to General Wolfe School in 1971 and graduated in 1979 our elementary school (as we Canada calls it was from kindergarten to grade 7.. and high school is from Grades 8 to 12) 🙂🙂
And just a year or two ago my school had to shut down for a few months or year to upgrade for systemic upgrade (Earthquake upgrade and asbestos and led upgrade) for safety reasons 🙂🙂 even my brother went to the same school ..I went to High school and he was in my school (elementary school) so I understand how you feel about awesome memories even I had awesome memories too of my school and my favorite teacher etc 🙂🙂👍👍
I did the same thing once and when i was in 5th grade i had a classroom which i had the most fun in, i came with a friend and we walked inside. It hit me like a truck, nostalgia of running around carelessly playing tag hurt. i went to my old classroom and i found my lost old bag with all the books inside. i sat down for a moment and legitimately shattered into tears. as i pretended for a bit i cried, alot. i miss those times.

I would honestly cry if I saw my school left like this. I would remember the times with my friends, fights, dramas, and everything.
My junior high is still in use but, as a grade school. Even my old high school is still being used today. When I was a freshman in high school just before Christmas break a senior burned the oldest part of the school up. Almost the entire 2nd floor in the old part was gone. It was back in December 1984. When I was my high school the following day that I broke down in tears. Even us students were bused to another school a half hour away in a smaller high school. It was split that the juniors and seniors in the mornings. Freshmen and sophomores in late mornings to late afternoons. I remembered getting home at 6pm. I even had P.E. at my old school and even looked outside to see the fire damage. It took 2 and a half years to get back to the high school. It was still under construction during the school year. That was my senior year. I was even hanging out with my good friend that year after school. He was a junior that school year. We became close to each other as really good friends. He was very shy and quiet guy. I’m more outgoing person. We even went to prom together. I loved to go back and see my high school again since I was in it for 1 school.

my primary school WAS probably the smallest in my area with only having one building which wasn't even that big, only had 30 students per class in the whole school, when I go past it now, I barely recognise it, it really makes me feel old
I don't blame you whatsoever taking the yearbook. I would have done the same thing if I was in one of my schools that had been abandoned. All the schools I ever attended are still in operation, except one----Mayfair Elementary, which taught grades 4 through 6 in Dearborn Heights, MI. That school was severely damaged in a tornado in 1974, and had to be demolished. It had a companion elementary school, Polk Elementary, which taught Kinder through 3. It was across the teacher's parking lot from Mayfair. Kids started out at Polk, then switched to Mayfair as they got older. Polk Elementary is still in operation---it wasn't in the tornado's path. I lived a mere 4 blocks away from the complex, so walked to school with 30-40 other kids in the neighborhood who also attended school there. I left MI in 1970 for AZ, and finished school in AZ. All those schools are in operation as well. I don't think I could explore an abandoned place that I used to know before it was abandoned. Too sad, too many memories. Great video. (Jan Griffiths).

It always hits me every time I see good stuff left behind in abandoned places, especially this one where you found your yearbook at the last. Josh, may I ask you a question, Could you give me specific reasons why did your middle school go completely abandoned?
On december 17, 2009 this school closed due to a mercury spill in one of the science closets and there was also a lot of asbestos bc everything around here is old my old elementary school went abandoned in 2019 bc it was a safety hazard

Honestly, if i just saw my school, like this I would break down in tears, oddly enough, the college where I go to has some sort of "agreement" with the building where I went to elementary school (still active btw) so they can host some of the careers and majors there due to a lack of space on the main building, it just so happens that there is where I'm going to go from now on, it's somewhat cathartic, somewhat sad, kinda like a reward that at the same time feels like a punishment for staying mostly the same, and being loyal to myself, anyway, feels strange going back there after 12/13 years, the universe is confusing really.
I always think about the last people who touched those desks, doors, wrote on the boards. The last people to walk on through those halls and touched those walls. The last people who wrote with those pens and sat down to eat lunch with their friends. All the history that went on in that place but now its just mystery. What happened on the last day and why did they leave all their science displays. Why didn't they take their stuff does any one else care enough. Doesn't anyone else want to know what happened long ago?

They most sad thing to me is the the building it self (at least the front/original part) is still very beautiful and grand. You gotta respect how nice and grand older school buildings are. I wish new school buildings still looked like this.

I hated my middle and high school years and I hated my school but seeing my school abandoned would just tear me apart, all the good memories that would be lying in an abandoned building for the rest of time is just heartbreaking… 😢
My old junior high and both my high schools got torn down and rebuilt (1952, 1961, 1973). It was sad to watch them be torn down. They were replaced, but it's never the same . . . The '73 high school was only 26 years old when they tore it down! It was still new, to me. My brother went to school with Pee-Wee Herman and that school was built in 1926. It still exists, but they gutted it and turned it into an art museum. My mom's high school was built in 1934 and it still stands, in perfect condition, and it is used every day. It was very well-built. In my old high school, they left behind all the furniture, just like in your school. The amount of waste in this country is unbelievable! No wonder we're 32 trillion dollars in debt.
I wanted to go through my old school and video-tape it before it was demolished, but they wouldn't let me. I could only tape from the outside as they worked. In July of 1999, all I had was an RCA VHS camcorder from Sears that weighed about 10 pounds and it sat on my shoulder. I came back on like six different days and got about 4 hours of tape. I still have it.

Asbestos is only dangerous if it is in spores (airborne), lead has to be ingested (probably in the pipes), and mercury is usually airborne.
I would like to hope they cleaned out the mercury, but it’s doubtful.

I would love to explore my first Daycare Center. It's recently been abandoned, cause the city decided to combine the other existing daycare centers into bigger facilities. It's kinda sad, because those buildings had charm, character and full of warm memories. Personally I hate the modern style of architecture. My home town is filled with ugly cement monstrosities while the old historic buildings are either torn down or just left to rot.
I can’t imagine my elementary, middle, or high school being abandoned! Especially my high school. My grandparents went there, my parents went there. My great uncle has his name on the front of the school because he was a legend there. My family has so much history at my high school. I hope it’s never completely discarded like this!

Yes it does seem large for a middle school but imagine it if they would have kept it as a high school. It would have needed to be that big maybe possibly bigger

My old elementary school was torn down about a year ago. I explored that school so much when I used to go there. Going up into the attic and back behind the stage. So many memories of that school. It's too bad...
Jon's Tech Channel same here... it was pretty depressing when we found out it was being torn down because my friends and I would explore it because it was giant.
I went and took pictures of mine at different times of the demolition. They tore it down so quickly, I was thinking that they would tear it down in the summer but nope, right in the middle of January 2016!

My middle school was also abandon it's been empty for years now. It's crazy to venture through it and remember all the memories the and friends I had in those Halls. It's a sad fate the school is very beautiful on the inside
