While Chelsea appear to have improved under Lampard, issues remain. Defensively they are prone to lapses and issues with their pressing and structure. While Lampard’s enforced experimentations with youth are showing real promise, the lifting of the transfer ban gives the young coach an opportunity to fix some issues and engage in a little long-term squad planning.

Bringing in Ziyech (RW), Werner (ST), Thiago Silva (CB), Ben Chilwell (LB), Malang Sarr (CB) and of course, Kai Havertz (Fwd) in one summer is exceptional ! I hope we do improve the GK position, but it has been a fantastic window so far.

The goals Kepa have conceded are due to very bad defending, mainly due to defensive setup and certain players. 3 goals conceded against Everton are all on the centre backs and Azpilicueta, while couple of goals have been deflected ones. Apart from the 4-4 draw against Ajax he's been quite good and very unlucky to have conceded this much.
There's couple of more players that should have looked at and much cheaper, like Sander Berge, Alex Telles all are perfect for Chelsea.

This is one of those moments where I wish I was wrong about a player, i.e. Kepa, I remember saying to one of my buddies that we need a new goalie cause Kepa never seems to save anything, I kinda assumed I was being harsh but seeing that he's got the worst save percentage for any keeper in the league and that whenever I watch us, it's not like we're giving away shot after shot at our goal, I think it's time to get rid. Too bad the club spent so much on him meaning they'll have to persist at least one more season and hope he comes through.

This is good. Agree with some of what they're saying but the key factor to replacing Hazard's production is finding someone who's proven to be able to dribble past players in tight windows and spark opportunities against low blocks. I'm not sure that's Traore. 3/4 goals have come against City defenses giving him space to run into.
Emi Buendia seems like a hybrid of Kovacic and Jorginho, he can do what they both can just not as well as either.
Don't know enough about Orsolini to make a complete assessment but his passing worries me. Again, getting in behind defences and generally being a lock-pick from a wide area is something we need and it's a gamble to lay out money to see if he can cut it in the PL.
I'll take Sosa or preferably Grimaldo at LB 😂 We need someone there like... yesterday.
GK replacement is not realistic, it's something we should be looking at but the investment in Kepa is too great, plus he can play out very well which is hard to find in a consistent GK.

Excellent content but a few oversights. To start with I don't think Chelsea would sign a new goalie for the simple reason that they invested a lot of money (world record fees) on a keeper and wouldn't want to bail on that project this early in the running - not unless they can somehow sell Kepa for the money they spent on him, which is highly unlikely. The other aspect I feel that is overlooked is perhaps the need for a central defender - I am not sure either Zouma or Tomori are at the level of Rudiger so Chelsea may wish to sign a new ball-playing centre-back to partner Rudiger, which is perhaps why they are linked with Ake at the moment. I think you guys could've covered the centre-back options rather than goalie options given that this is more likely a transfer to happen. But great video nonetheless.

I'm a Benfica fan, and I can say that although Grimaldo is very good on the ball, he's also incredibly weak defensively. If he ever gets to play in a premier team he will get destroyed. He could make the transition to another position though, or maybe if Chelsea plays with 3 man in the back, but he will never be a good left back in a 4 man defensive line system. Maybe that's the reason he is still playing in the Portuguese league. Alex Telles would be a much better pick.
