The title alone deserves a thumbs up. I watched GG from the start as I was a big fan of Sargon, Internet Aristocrat and Dave Cullen. They did an excellent job of uncovering the truth and dispelling the lies the games journalists were spewing, however:

The Quartering has been doing that Gamergate floppy jowls thing for years. Did he start that or did he pick it up bec it was “coined” during GG1 times?
He started when he was kick out/exiled from MTG, Magic The Gathering tournament. He complained that there was favouritism and one of the judges didn't like him and the judge started brigading him until he was banned, prior Trump election in 2016.
Since then, he tried to expose such practise, Political correctness and current issue own the news to YT because younger generation don't follow what is own mainstream news similar to Timpool.

In the grim darkness of the current day, their is only war.
Good observation about if something is fun, entertaining and well made does not make it good. "But it only has a little woke-ness or debase content." I came to this same conclusion decades ago. I had a few friends that constantly want me to watch movies with them that "only had one sex scene in it." etc. or other things they KNEW I objected to. Always justified by how little was in the movie. I told asked them one day, if I gave them a glass of water to drink and only put one single drop of raw sewage in it would they drink it? Most of them didn't reply but made an "icky" face. The rest said they would not drink it. They stopped pressuring me after that.

I recall when gamergate first hit the scene I was against it because it had been mischaracterized as harassment against one woman for dumping some guy. I thought “Well no one should be harassed like this”. It was the “Help I’m being threatened and I’m scared!’ nonstop flailing of Brianna Wu that started to put me off. Then Anita began releasing her heavily slanted arguments and taking shots at some of my favorite franchises. It became impossible to have a nuanced dialogue with the anti gg crowd. Then I watched a man be canceled in real time, so badly it caused him a mental breakdown for which his wife left him. He lost everything just for the “crime“ of being a regular bloke online. No quarter was given, no mercy, no lenience, no path to redemption; just pure unrelenting condemnation. The more I voiced, temperance and reasonableness and logic over the matter, the more friends I lost within my immediate social circle. It became clear to me then, we were in an era of people getting off on choosing to be offended and loud about it. I just couldn’t bring myself to behave that ridiculously over imaginary harm. I hope gamer gate the second wave is even more successful than the first. I will be here for it.

Fair argument, the cassus belli of Gamer Gate was the attempt to preach behavior sure but that wasn't really the only thing. Many things came to a head there..

So I'd say while the 'grifters' did drag it out it wasn't the flash point on its own, it was a culmination of issues that gamer's wise on where this was going called out many years ahead.
Now those many years later, this is where we are.
At its core Gamer gate is not about Gamers but about CUSTOMERS being treated with respect by the industry. The idea that when we criticized their direction on the 3 points the industry response is well you must be sexist, at that point sent everyone into either confusion or anger. A lot of people didn't realize the whole feminism thing was a distraction, and oddly enough it took on a life of its own with the DEI bs.
The core is they want DRM, MT, Gambling, and other predatory tools to pilfer the customer, while the customer are split into two camps:
Wise folks and not wise folks. Wise people get where this is leading, and not wise folks are what these corpo's call 'market flexibility'.
The only thing that saved gaming from looking like Hollywood was the Indy gaming scene, games like Terreria, Minecraft, etc pulled the next generations of gamer's in. Don't get me wrong you get the AAA anomaly like Baldur's Gate 3, but even Monster Hunter is now a DLC nightmare. Indy has DLC also but it hurts much less since the original game can be like $12, but if you pay $60/ $70 and then have to pay for DLC and then Microtransactions and now they are adding commercials to the games. XD.
That's what gamer gate is about, the fight against diminishing the customer experience.

The way I see's it those that gatekeep and retcon the lore of franchises are not to be underestimated, case and point, all of those bollocks lore channels that keep on churning out gutter tier content that's just not true and is only really an advertisement for the next current thing and LOTR and Halo are prime examples of this.

As an Imperial Knight player in 40k, yeah. Knight Houses have stood strong for more than 10 millennia without the Imperium. We practically stood strong alone in lore before Warhammer 40k. So we'll keep going even without it.
Id be more worried about economic downturn in gaming tbh. Seems like even if studio make great game it isnt enough for publisher to not close their studios these days. I sense a crash of the industry incoming within a few years. Especially since the only way they can increase profit now is to cut cost. Gg2 won't matter much if the industry is ending itself. There is a youtuber called mugthief that made a great video recently about it. Its really eye opening about the health of the industry and its not looking good. Expect mass studio closing as publisher try to cut cost.

I generally agree with 85% of what Az and Oz say, at the same time, i have points i will disagree on, I will say burn Woke Ideology, grind the ashes of it, leave no trace of it behind, same with Communisim, but at times (Like with his review of Dune) opinions differ, the hard line of good and evil existing, we disagree. Pointing out that the present only usurps the past if you let it is so important. I just introduced my nephew to the Lord of the rings a few months ago. We watched the fellowship together, then he went home and binged watched the trilogy, the Hobbit trilogy and part of rings of power and the first words out of his mouth when he got to it was that it sucked and I just laughed. Even 7 year olds can tell the difference if they are compared side by side, they can only ruin what they actually make I don't care who owns the ips.

Gamer gate doesn't exist. It was just normal people rejecting a concerted outcry of schizos and journalists after being called out and dismissed by literally everyone. Which will never not happen so as long as a movement has no logical credence to reinforce its place in an industry, which can't happen because gaming is a place for creativity and escapism, not self-aggrandizing "victims". If you want to change something, make it compelling and interesting. Nothing about these people is thought provoking because they can't think of anything beyond their own dogma.
It did exist, but it wasn't what the media said. It was the concerted media push to erase the concept of Gamer that constituted GamerGate.
There was no conspiracy to resist, but a grassroots swell that managed to bring lefties and rightoids together in outrage.

I do believe it applies perfectly, in a positive, practical solution to our woes in this situation.
When one has knowledge of the methods of video game development, they do not feel dependent on some "industry" to feed them content. To them, engines like Unity, Unreal & Godot are really VERY sandbox games.
That is the advantage desktop has over console.
But it doe snot have to be that way, there are numerous open hardware options out there, and many hobbyists have crafted their own homebrew consoles. You can do a lot with a Raspberry PI (or Pi clone).
Seriously folks, don't be intimidated, it's easier than you think.... LEARN TO CODE!

I noticed the first bit of woke ideology in Halo was in a passing comment in Halo 5. Spartan Vale mentioned that the Arbiter has women in his ranks now; something Sangheli never used to do.
Outside of that I haven't seen too much woke in Halo until the TV series.

Play Dumb/Ask Questions:

Gotcha Tactic:

Repetitive Interrogation Gambit:

Provoke and Depart Maneuver:
This cunning tactic involves a persistent stalker who patiently awaits an opportunity to provoke their victim. The stalker closely monitors the victim's activities, waiting for them to express emotionally charged statements. Once the victim exhibits vulnerability, the stalker swoops in with intentional provocation, pushing the victim's buttons with calculated precision. False Allegations:
This manipulative tactic involves making unfounded claims against another person, typically involving serious accusations such as assault or abuse, without evidence to support the allegations. Often combined with shaming tactics and subtle threats, this strategy aims to silence or discredit anyone who questions the validity of the allegations. False allegations occur when an individual publicly accuses another of a crime or moral wrongdoing without any supporting evidence, often in a highly charged or public manner. Shaming language to discourage scrutiny, use of threats (subtle or overt) to deter investigation or dissent. The accused may face public condemnation, social ostracization, and severe personal and professional consequences, regardless of the truth of the matter. Brazen Admission:
When the perpetrator is confronted with accusations of manipulation or wrongdoing, they respond by brazenly admitting to the behavior. This admission is not accompanied by remorse but rather is used as a tactic to intimidate and assert control over the situation. The perpetrator's response is typically aggressive and dismissive, communicated through a challenging retort such as, "Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing, so what?" This approach shocks the victim, potentially causing them to question their next steps and weakening their position in the confrontation.

I noticed this watching Mars Attacks. that and space jam(not just new legacy) where the first woke movies I noticed that. even though Mars Attacks was just Tim Burton expressing his anti conservative crap.
