Henry's experiment proved that _nobody_ recognized him. Despite standing under a massive poster of himself, nobody noticed that he was the guy on the poster. Nobody stopped to take his picture. Nobody asked for his autograph.
I saw a picture of Zooey Deschanel without her bangs and I didn't recognize her. So, if Clark is always wearing glasses, people wouldn't instantly recognize him either once he takes them off.

@@Hot_Dice Oh yeah, wasn't Hugo Weaving already in his late 30s or something? I know Viggo Mortensen was slightly older than him during LOTR. Also, Hugo still looked great in The Hobbit and he was in his late 40s or early 50s, I think. And they still managed to make him look great. Orlando Bloom's Legolas was noticeable in terms of makeup and the eyes compared to his appearance in LOTR, I will admit that.
That's why Julius Caesar started wearing the laurel wreath, supposedly.

4:55 Galadriel's narration at the start of the movie is incredibly well done. It's so well-paced that the time flies by and you're already invested in the world by the time Concerning Hobbits starts.
That’s what happens when you have Cate Blanchett. Listen to her vocal performance, how she enunciates certain words. It’s very compelling. Now watch the scene in Justice League where Gal Gadot gives a similar narration and notice how talent can make or break a narration.

Right?! If that was the intent, they've failed. Plus, the hairline somehow enhanced how fake the actor looks with the wig. If anything, he looked better as a man in S1 (for whatever that's worth) instead of an Elf. They're not even trying at this point.

Here is what would have worked WELL... a very close-look-a-like actor or stunt-actor that would do the elf-dress-up role. those similarity for our sake as the audience, but still not just 'Halbrand with maybeline wig and elf ears'

You forgot how all 'creatives' now do not have the humility or humbleness to put aside their own egos, beliefs, activism, biases and bitterness to create or adapt.
So they either made Sauron so stupid that he thinks he can fool everyone by just changing his hair OR (more likely) they make everyone else so stupid that he manages to fool everyone by just changing his hair. Either way, the writers are idiots.

I seriously cannot believe they're really trying to pull the anotar storyline when they've already fucked it up because Elrond and Galadriel already know Sauron is Sauron.
So much for being great at shapechanging. All they needed was a few different actors for Sauron and to NOT fuck it up in season 1 and it might have worked.
Galadriel knows who Sauron is, but she made a point to NOT let Elrond in on it, moron that she is.

You know, I started translating 1000 year old Japanese stories and making them accessible to English speakers partly in the hope that they might inspire those more creative than me and then they would go create fantastic stories. But seeing what they've done/are doing with one of the best fantasy series ever made makes me wonder if it's more likely that they'll eventually get picked up by some uninspiring corporate shill who will adapt them into more of this terrible, woke garbage and stain the long tradition of Japanese storytelling for generations to come. . . I really really hope it's the former.
Protect them and gatekeep the shit out of it. I would have loved to have seen more unknown work, but with the wokeness of HW and the corporate greed I say protect what is dear to you.
