The difference between wokeness in America and the rest of the world is that it's not as top-down.
Rural Americans in red states, for example, aren't noticeably affected by woke policies.
Don't get me wrong, the federal government at the moment is a combination of woke and neo liberalism, or more simply, evil. This is an issue.
But compared to other nations, it's not as heavy handed. Thanks largely to the constitution and the separation of federal and state.
America exports it's wokeness via corporations which exist in a microcosm (cities). Which is unfortunate for everyone since thesd corporations have a global presence.

It helps that the US isn't a unitary form of government. Each individual state has a lot more autonomy than most other countries' equivalent systems. Before the Civil War, it was even more so. Almost like the EU where you have a bunch of individual countries with their own laws, cultures, customs, government, military, flag and capitals but all conform to a select number of laws and regulations of the overarching agency. In Europe's case, it's the EU in the US, it's the fed.

Kind of sounds like Australia is similar to the US. Our cities are the wokest weakest places you can imagine. Get into more rural America and that all goes away. Unfortunately cities are huge population centers so they tend to dominate voting. • @JustTooDamnHonest

Australia's PM has a lot more power over the country than the US President does in the USA and that is all thanks to our past leaders putting safeguards that gives the people and senators a voice along with several forms of people, while Australia just kept on slowly giving more and more power to the PM of Australia.
So in truth Australia is much closer to turning into a version of the Ministry of Truth from 1984 than the US ever will be.

The Congress is slower to adopt it, so much of it can be backed out without a complete overhaul of the government, just a change in the head of the Executive Branch.

Most Australians who have kids/wife/husband and earn enough to still feed them and pay their rates/mortgage as well as fill the car tank up, are super complacent, it wasn't until the financial situation started to really squeeze them that the mainstream media even bothered to mention how hard it is to live in poverty.
Only now is it fashionable to talk about aussie battlers living in tents on the riverside or paying councils to live in a tent on a park. And only because there's enough of us to be seen from the car window as you drive by is it a problem.

I took classes and worked with people from English speaking countries all over the world. New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, South Africa, Canada, US and so on. All living in a drastically different environment. And out of all those people, it tended to be the Aussies who were the most boisterous and unwilling to adapt to the local culture.
