    Fan "but that isn't true"
Redknapp "it is true. I get paid to make judgement on players, it's you opinion the game is a game of opinion and you got right to your opinion but, I also got right to my opinion. Scott Canham is a decent player we offered him a two year contract he turned it down, it's Scott's decision to leave the club. I tell you now without any shadow of a doubt there'll be no comparison with what Frank Lampard will achieve in football and what scotty Canham will achieve in football"
Fan "because you'll give him the opportunity"
Redknapp "they're is no favouritism, but am telling you now, and I didn't want to say this infront of (frank Lampard) him but he will go right to the very top, right to the very top"!!"there ain't no doubt about that in my opinion, he's got everything in him to become a top class midfield player. His attitude is first class, he has strength, he can play, he can pass and he can score goals"!!!!
9yrs later, Frank was the runner up in the Ballon D'or. Chelsea's record goalscorer. And then 2012, Lampard captained Chelsea to the Champions league trophy!!

Had a cab driver years ago that said he played in a youth team with Frank. He said even then he trained so much more than everyone else and truly relished it rather than just having to do it. Cab driver said His only issue was his build was a bit bulky and his acceleration was poor so he got running spikes and would train at short sprints all the time. This is what it really takes and so many people just think "oh they get paid silly money". Really these days you have to treat it like a job from when you're about 10 years old.

Lampard really is a great example to young footballers. He didn't have as much talent as Gerrard, Scholes and Beckham but he maximised his potential and scored more goals in the Premier League than all of them. He is actually 5th on the PL all-time goalscorers table. Only Shearer, Rooney, Cole and Aguero have scored more PL goals than him. He is ahead of Henry, Fowler, Defoe, Owen, and Kane. This is all as a midfielder.

Lampard was class and with all the money Chelsea pumped in he was the star for me. The ballacks and hazards and many others great but he is Chelsea’s best ever player . No bullshit with him either ultimate pro . Don’t think he’s had major success yet as a manager but he’s done great . But I think in the future he will be very successful he needs time to prove it. He will tho he’s only begun not even finished first season at Chelsea yet . You don’t get much time in football as managers now . Its ridiculous. Have to win to fast . Judged on one season . My club united sacked van gal to fast ends up with a mismatched squad. Ole same thing won a few games all on the positive. Loses a few then the pundits jump on the other side so quick . You need two transfer windows to build or fix a squad at least with backing from the owners. Frank hasn’t even had that neither has ole .

There was a time when he was in the team and we needed someone older and stronger because we were in a relegation battle and he wasn't ready. The fans saw it as nepotism and were worried about going down and felt a school boy didn't belong in the team. Eventually he developed into a good player and should have been a West Ham legend. But with the club being mismanaged by Terry Brown, we lost him to a rival. Then the dodgy Russian took them over and the rest is history. There should have been 2 West Ham all time greats called Frank Lampard.

To be fair, I've never seen another player improve during his career to the extent Frank Lampard did. When he started he was decent, then he became very good, then he became excellent and eventually he was world class.

Successful manager? Not sure about that, and I'm a huge fan of Frankie Lampard and Chelsea through and blue. Unfortunately, his stints at Chelsea as a manager came to early for him, but you can't blame him for accepting those opportunities. To be honest, his first season wasn't bad and he did so much to bring in the youth talent. He even recognised the value of an experienced player like Oliver Giroud. So there is no doubt Frankie has got potential to be a good manager, but he probably needs to work as an assistant manager to someday that IS a great manager, much the same way that Arteta did under Guardiola. That kind of experience will give him the extra insights and managerial experience that he needs. Nobody questions his commitment and football credentials, but he hadn't yet proved himself as a top class manager. It takes time. Just like when he was a young footballer, if he wants it bad enough then he'll need to work hard at it. Maybe life is too comfortable for him now to really want to make the sacrifices, we'll see what the next 5 years bring for him.

23 years ago Terry Venables - England manager at the time. He said that Frank Lampard (18) and Rio Ferdinand (18) we're the best 2 young players in the country.
When what you know is THAT good... it's just a matter of time before you rise to top.
When it comes to top level football.... It's 100% what you know and not who you know

How can people say he has no experience? How about experience playing for some of the top sides in the country alongside some of the best managers in the world amongst many international caps and tournaments. I think that's much more actual top-level football experience than most managers have.

If you look at Frank Lampard's career pre and post Roman Abramovich's take over it's like night and day. He went from a guy scoring five or so league goals a season to 15+. and he wasn't young either he was 25 when the takeover happened. Part of that was usually having two world class midfielders to take the burden off his defensive responsibilities and part was him raising his game in order to keep his spot in the team. Either way he would probably have never been talked about as one of the best ever if Roman Abramovich had bought a different team. So I don't think anyone can say they saw Frank Lampard's career coming. He barely had any England caps until he'd passed his mid 20's.

Agreed but once he stepped up he was ballon D'or levels good for 5-7 years.. 30+ goal contributions (Goal +Assists) in every season as an Englishman was insane... also the way he carrried himself was class...Man United fan here..
