Harry is not the brightest really and the interviewer was clearly talking about being a wheeler-dealer in the football transfer market, but Harry seemed to take it as if he was suggesting that he paid no income, no VAT and was buying David Bowie LPs and Trevor Francis tracksuits, from a mush in Shepherds Bush.
I can tell Frank enjoys being on the program with Uncle Harry lol. He's probably heard most of these over Christmas dinner and the like over the years lol.

The Benjani story shows Clubs aren't loyal to their players. So why should players be loyal to the Clubs?
Exactly players get called mercenaries but they could end up being pushed out their clubs.

Probably best for him in the long run, I'm sure his wages were increased by a fair amount, but yeah bit sad on a personal level if he genuinely enjoyed the club and living in the area, he did get to go back for one final season at least.
hardly played an most of his city stint was spent on a Mediterranean beach while getting 50k a week.. Poor poor man :(
His career died after that though. Hardly had consistent game time afterwords.

Harry the old school gaffer, well traveled and versed, has a class about him lost in the modern day. Love hearing him mention the names of clubs that were once the cream of the football crop before the sport got sold to, and monopolized by, the foreign billionaire boys club.
Even if the sport didn't get sold to them it all comes round in swings and roundabouts

SirCalz I’m a Chelsea fan but even I can admit he built a quality team at Tottenham, I used to enjoy watching them.
SirCalz Well he was the man that changed around Tottenham's fortunes, Spurs were a bottom half team before he arrived and he turned them into a Top 4 team and now look at them, they've gone from strength to strength. Not to mention he won the FA Cup with Pompey, he's a decent manager.

Well, he did admit that they didn't take care of them the same way as they do now. Wasn't necessarily a Harry Redknapp issue, pretty common issue throughout the league really.

I listened to his autobiography recently on audiobook and it's so funny and interesting, he could tell such a good story.
I can see Harry and Frank really love each other. Harry is so proud of Frank, and Frank is very thankful for what Harry had done to him in his marvellous career.
