I am also an artist as well....i wasted 7years in the so called campus just to pursue 'papers' that my mum wanted. It took me been rebellious and disowned for a period of time for my mum to actually accept that art is within me and its what i want to pursue. Right now, the theatre is my second home. Lydia's childhood is exactly the same as mine. Growing up with abusive dad is not easy, the trauma doesn't go away especially when it still continues even when you're olderđđđ.but God is faithful. I believe I'm the chain breaker & I will change the situation at home.
đđđđGod for us all. I always don't want to remember
I was never raised by abusive parents but faced abuse in childhood and in a relationship ,there are those people who will say heal, you must heal from the abuse.Healing is not something you just go and grab ,it is a process and might be a forever process, humans just learn to live and cope with the trauma.
AMEN! I agree with you Mutheu in JESUS NAME.
My case too
Yes , abusive dads wuuuii but we are re- raising ourselves!God you alone is faithful đ
I think a big number of people who grew in the 70's,80's,90's went through and witnessed alot of domestic violence and childhood trauma.
She is right about people projecting their fears on you!!!
Tuzlinw min nyiri ,that really true I don't know what the problem with that people grew in 70to90đą
You're right. At home war then at school more war.
The notion of spare the rod and spoil the child was badly misconcepted. Just look at how we are all affected, it resulted to alot of narcissism, alcoholism and more diverse mental problems đ.
@@salomewanjiku5971 Too much physical beating, society expectations, kids and women's opinions were not regarded that much. Men were burdened with family responsibility at an early age,by the time it was frustrating them they couldn't get out it so they beat the kids and wives to vent.

Thanks Lynn for hosting such an amazing woman - Lydia does a lot for the Kenyan community in the UK and in 254.
I love what Lydia says about taking back your power. People, please take back your power-itâs your choice.
Men out there talk about how they do so much for ladies and how ladies are golddiggers but in reality most women go out of their way to provide for these ungrateful and needy cheaters called men.Personally I think that women should spend their money and emotions working on themselves instead of building up a man who in the end will heartbreak you and use you because working on yourself will never lead to heartbreak and regrets.Have a great dayđ

Lydia is so hilarious đ. I really love that she laughs off even her struggles. This story was very uplifting. Again, Thank you Lynn. â€
I was raised in the struggle which made me a hustler but something I've come to realize is hustling is not everyone's default. So I don't take the superman role with everyone because some people should be left alone with their dysfunction.
Been a victim of domestic and emotional abuse for 3 years,I've walked out 3times and going back but the fourth time I walked away for good now in gulf for the past 2 years. I have a kid 5years now my ex has been beging me to go back promising he has changed. I had similar experience when i 1st came to South Africa. Kenyan's here in RSA really hate each other. They tried to bring me down. I had the worst experience they took my stuff when i was away They left me homeless. My Kenyan friends i came with them here. But i thank God he lifted me up. Im better than i was, and yes i dont mingle with Kenyan here anymore. I interact with South Africans and Lesotho people. Kenyans here are very negative and toxic. Life far from home isn't easy though

Wow, đČ Lydia s story is a bitter sweet one, really an eye opener and a breather after all the sad story's we've been watching, what came to my mind though after watching is how I wish Lydia would be given an opportunity to take Maureen (Mama daviy) to the UK together with her son and husband, when they're through with therapy, that gal is hardworking and a go getter like Lydia, the two would make a good collabo,"business wise".
