Wow! I could have been the person narrating this story with just a couple of differences. She is a woman, I am a man. She is Kenyan, I am Nigerian. We both had humble beginnings. She left at 18 for Romania on scholarship 16 years ago, I left on scholarship too at the age of 21 to Bulgaria 45 years (!) ago. She studied medicine and specialized in ENT and Plastic surgery. I studied medicine in Greece and specialized in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She encountered a lot of racism in Romania, I encountered tons of it in Greece. She got very high in the Romanian medical establishment. I am nearing retirement as a Medical Director in the University Hospital of Patras, Greece. No other black person has ever attained such a position in the Greek National Health Care System. We both got to our ultimate goals by share hard work. TLDR: Work hard, be yourself, and you can achieve anything in life. Congratulations to Dr Bayerl for her fabulous achievement!
Waouh. So proud of you and glory to God for that
Youâre an inspiration to many
Thanks for sharing

Wooow. Congratulations
That little girl that was told she wasâ so black â and called â a monkeyâ is now a top surgeon. Imagine that. Sheâs beautiful n brilliant. Truly inspiring for little black girls out there. Bravo!

This are women who should be given audience. Not some naked socialites on our screen and blogs everyday.
Exactly. Most of us, average black women, are and look like this but it's easier and it makes more money to portray us as the IG models, vulgar rappers and baby mommas with the mile long fake hair, lashes and nails.đ€·đ€·đ€·. A lot of people know but chose to ignore it.
Very true n their never respect their bodies

@@willowwale2000 Clearly you are in the wrong place hence the negativity. I mean there is no shortage of channels and voices out there that may suit your kind. My point is this; know your place. Not every woman is going to be good at conforming to the status quo and of course your comfort zone.
A very good morning/ afternoon or evening to all who are watching this channel.
First and foremost let me start by appreciating an icon, someone that i look up to and appreciate, thats Lynn Ngugi. Dearest Lynn thank you for allowing us to use your platform to share our stories.
Mine was a summary of what iâve been through, yet years down the line God has been faithful and gracious.

My all the desires of everyone who watches the channel come to pass.

Sure is.
I'd like to see those skin head guys today. To watch them while hearing this lady doctor tell the story of how those grown men chase and bullied girls! Girls for God sake....low lives is what they really were....
That does not make her a genius. There are many people like her. What would have made her a genius would be she getting married from the beginning.
Unfortunately it is a common practice all over Europe. Language is a key to success in almost all professional areas.
@@willowwale2000 marriage will make her a genius???? I have really heard it all
My daughter is now in class 8 soon sitting for her KCPE in March 2022. She has always wanted to be a Doctor. She has prayed to God. She is very encouraged by this Doctor who is a surgeon. I will come back here to give a testimony. The faith this Doctor has is what I have for my daughter. I love the fact that she's humble and she mentions God every time, that's a secret of success. Thank you Lynn for this show.
My daughter too is sitting for her Kcpe in 2022.And through all this interview I am relating her to Dr.Please let us see our girls fly high.

She is remarkableâŠ. One on my brothers was horribly bullied and called a monkey alsoâŠ. He is white⊠and although he made it through collegeâŠ. he has worked from home for 40 years⊠he almost never leaves the houseâŠ. effects of bullying are heartbreaking and lead some people to commute suicide. Parents should ALWAYS educate their children to be kind and report bullying to teachers.
Awww so sorry to hear that I was bullied too but now feel better but the triggers are always there, yes we need to teach kids about bullying that it's a bad thing to do.
Hope your brother go out n live his full lifeâ€ïžGod bless your family
Bullying happens everywhere even at work n to adults. It is a very shameful behaviour n the person who bullies does not realize how it can impacts a person n their lives.
I hope he can get the love and helps he needs to get through that trauma.

The scholarship part just got me. How you walked into the embassy and pap! a door opened. That is God

Standing ovation for this beautiful presentation. Hope many young black, African-American youth view it and be encouraged.
Because we were brought to America and enslaved does not mean we are African Americans. We did not apply for visas and travelled to this country. Our ancestors were kidnapped, brought to America, abused, sold and enslaved. Our children used as alligator bait. We are Africans born in America or whatever country you were born.
Unity is strength but knowledge is power.
Secondly, I am not Colored, Negro, African American or Black. Black is crayola. I am a human being as everyone else walking on Earth. We are Africans. I live in America.

Absolutely
Her story was absolutely amazing and so encouraging and inspirational even to an African-American like myself!!!
Me too ! Iâm African American too. What she went through is what many African Americans grow up in from youth.
I loved this! I've never seen your show before and the title intrigued me. I didn't think that I would watch the whole thing but I could not turn it off. What an inspirational interview. This is what I do. I encourage people but now I need to find a way to make this into a non-profit or something. People need encouragement in this negative world. Thank you for doing this show.
I am so inspired by you Doc,FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION INDEED.
I live in Iceland and you just inspired me to study nursing here.(its a passion of mine).its not easy living abroad.i have cried soo many times but I am never giving up..I will start language school soon and with God I will make it. Asante Daktari, you just gave me a wake up call.
Go for it gal, nursing is great and rewarding if thats what you want to do. Western countries are not easy but they pay for hard working people.
Good luck. You've got this
Asante sana Dakatari. Love from South Africa.
