As an indonesian viewer of drew I'm very happy that Java(Jawa) the island I was born on is mentioned but let me tell you drew, the dutch did a little something more than "taking over for a little bit there" no no no oh no the occupied us for a while longer than you think some say they've been doing it for half a century but the most say it's 350 years. They saw our field of spices and they were like alright dibs and just colonize the heck out of us for 350 years the reason it took us so long? Well it's because we were separated by our Islands so each island fought for them selfs. WW2 was actually helpful for us, and sure we had a lot of casualties, probably about 4 mill or so and yeah it's a lot but you gotta consider that we were fighting for our independence while fighting the ww, so we had to fight the dutch, and then the Japanese came around you know climbing to be the hero but after a few years of you know "stuff" they they turn out to be a lot worse than the Dutch not a surprise, and so we revolt against them and there's even more casualties but also there was a brief moment where we were fighting the Allies because the Japanese told us so, and also we were just sick of other countries you know taking over so we thought what the heck, we also got a Little help from the Anzac forces but you know they were a little bit preoccupied in North Africa so, and after that we were having our own revolution again, having a battle with the British British India Republic of China so yeah we had a lot of problems, and then came the Communists, oh my God where do I start for instance the reason that Indonesia hates communist so much is because around six of our best generals at the time, they were brutally murdered I think one even was buried alive and it was not even a proper burial they just dug up a whole dump their bodies in and then just cover it up with trash and eventually cover it with the dirt, yeah I don't exactly know how the heck that happened you know it was the Cold war it was confusing times America was getting beaten by Vietnam, Berlin was cut in half, you know confusing times but there is a movie about it and I did get to see it and there is one general that got killed in front of his family and the body was just kind of dragged to a car and then just put in a secret lair or something and the remaining generals that was still alive after they got put in the "secret lair" and they were tortured and my friends even told me that one of the generals got their eyes slit with a razor so you know not fun so yeah being a communist in Indonesia I don't recommend it or you know maybe don't even try to put a hammer and sickle together that's going to get you in trouble.

I think I actually know something of the backstory of that territory of nowhere. It's an actual place, a really weird bit of disputed land between Egypt and Sudan because both sides claim it belongs to the other. Neither nation wants it! Edit: it's rl name is Bir Tawil

The NZ at 10:32 is actually slightly wrong. When they first mapped the coastlines, Stewart Island, the tiny one off the bottom, was thought to be a peninsula, and Banks Peninsula, a pair of extinct volcanoes about halfway up the South Island, was though to be an island. Thereby, the fact they did not include that goes against the premise of the map.
