  • In this video you are riding in a Frecciarossa 1000 multiple unit train. The entire video was recorded using the game Transport Fever 2 in cockpit mode. It looks best when playback quality is set to 1440p.
There are a large number of interesting views in this video. Including large cities, mountain villages, sea ports, industrial areas with freight yards, large farms, rivers, lakes, and a mountain stream with water falls.
Literally everything on the map used to create this video was placed manually.
This video uses a large number of mods. Thank you to all of the mod makers who make Transport Fever 2 a better game!

The most fun I had was when I landed in Frankfurt and took an ICE train to Munich. That was the most fun I had in a while, just to look out of a window early in the morning while the train goes 300km/h.

I Just realized that I may have a better answer to your question. Sorry about that. I was half asleep when I answered the first time.
After you create a switch that is the intersection of two tracks (x connection not y connection). You can click on the switch and change it to a double slip switch.
However if the angle is to great then the double slip switch option will not be available.

There are already some TF2 videos out there. If you are looking for specific answers. Try doing a search. You might be surprised.
If I had a single suggestion. I'd say don't Get overwhelmed and try to create the whole map at once. Just start with a small area, make it as perfect as possible. Then start adding and changing things one at a time.

It's a bummer that there are no passengers. But with the way I did things. I had no choice.
As you can see in the video. I designed the line to cover the whole map with the stops being spaced real far apart. And single track is used in many areas. So the number of trains that can operate on the line is very limited. If I let the train pickup passengers. There ends up being a very large mass of passengers at each station and it looked unrealistic. So I changed things so that the train isn't carrying any people. That way there are no unrealistic large masses of people at each station. It was the best compromise I could come up with.

Is there a specific mod for the station at 20:55? I've looked through the steam workshop and can't seem to find it. It looks like the upper platform level are through tracks and the lower level are termination tracks?

    • @General_Tso

      steamcommunity.com/app/1066780/workshop/
      and
      www.transportfever.net/
If I remember correctly the upper platforms where optional. (I had to click on an option in the station mod's in game menu to activate them.) So the upper platform might not always be visible when looking at pictures of stations when deciding what mod to download.

I have 200 mods or so active for that map and many of them are not in English. So I ended up loosing track of where things came from. And I can't open that map to check things out because one of the necessary mods was removed from Steam and the map doesn't work at the moment. So I can't answer you question directly. But I can tell you where I got the mod. I most likely got it from here. -> www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php?filebase/80-transport-fever-2/ There are several possible locations on this page that might contain that mod. But you should probably check the More Mods/building page first. There is also a small chance that I got it from the Steam workshop. So If you can't find it at transportfever.net then you might want to check there. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    • @General_Tso
      @General_Tso  Před 3 lety

Sorry this the only "real" train line on this map. The other ones are for appearance sakes. Most of them are relatively short and pass through unfinished scenery. But thank you for asking! I started limiting my maps to one "real" line because as the map fills up the frame rate on my PC goes down. So I get better results with just one good line per map.
I was really disappointed in how CZcams TV screwed up this video and made it less clear when they processed it. But I still hope to build some more maps and make videos in the near future.

@@artikostudios1136 It's been so long since I made that video that I don't remember the map size. And I can't open that map anymore to check. But I'm sure it isn't megalomanic because I've never used that size. I'm guessing it was either a large or very large map. It looks larger because I spent a lot of time packing things together. The line you are riding on actually twists around a lot so that it runs close to itself in many areas. I just used things like mountains, cities, and trees to block the view.
