Congratulations Peter Docter for winning the PET Magnetic sheet! I'll reach out to you to get your giveaway sent asap! To everyone else who didn't have luck: There will be more awesome giveaways on this channel, stay tuned!
Hi, first I would like to say that I love your videos and how you make everything look so easy. I had multiple problems having my material stick to my glass bed , but found that the pla I was using was not good. Now I have issues removing pieces off my glass bed .
Thanks for all your videos so far. Keep them coming!!
I use a similar build surface I bought from TH3D last year. It works well and I like the fact I can pick between smooth or textured surfaces depending on the print. The TH3D sheets replaced a Creality PEI spring steel sheet that I thrashed printing PETG. A worn or damaged spring steel sheet makes an excellent mouse pad BTW :)
Great video :D
This surface has been a game changer for me, perfect adhesion and easy to release the prints, as shown in the video.
If you're considering it, don't hesitate, just get one, you won't be disappointed.
Just remember to clean it with the highest concentrate alcohol that you can get hold of as often as possible, especially if you touch the plate.
Enjoyed the video and thank you for all the time you spend researching and producing these very helpful videos.
Been using a PEi spring steel plate for a few weeks now on one of my original E3âs. Will deffo be getting one for my other E3z not had a single issue since ditching the glass plate, top video as always buddy đ
This looks like the perfect solution to maximize the build plate volume for my Ender 3 v2! Thanks for sharing the video!
Great video as always, Daniel! I have an ender 3 pro and have been somewhat happy with the original magnetic bed sheet, but I've been thinking about going to glass for awhile because of the occasional difficulties in removing prints. Your video has made me consider trying this solution instead. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video and info! Ive been using glass without having to use any glue and pretty good luck, but I've been wating something that I didn't need to wait for cooldown.
I just got my first printer and it is the OG ender 3. Figured I would start there and I love upgrading so I think it will be a great project. Still trying to find out what other accessories I need but would be great to have the magnetic plate. Love your channel!
I have a glass bed on my ender 3 pro. I totally agree with the clips. I always have to make sure I position them to make sure my nozzle doesn't hit it. I would love to have this metal spring bed for an upgrade on my ender 3 pro. Awesome video as always.
Thanks a lot. I really need this on my Ender 3. You are absolutely right sometimes it can be hard to remove the print from a stock Ender 3. Again thanks.
very nice love it really want to get my self a build plate like that as i am still using the glass bed and it a night mare just love your videos help me out a lot already
Thank you for this. I've been looking at upgrading my bed as sometimes it either doesn't stick or sticks too much.
A flexible bed sounds great.
This would be a perfect upgrade for my V1 Ender 3. Great vid as always!đ€
Nice to see these different build plates. Was going to upgrade mine.
Really good video, was looking at getting a different build plate for my ender 3 v2. Currently using the back of the glass plate.
Thanks for the review! I've seen this on AliExpress and always wondered how good it was. Keep up the great work!
Need this!!! Had one on my monoprice and it was a game changer!! Great channel!!
Im highly considering to add this. This will greatly help in taking off the printed item on the bed. Just got my ender 3 v2 and testing it out.
Brilliant, my original print bed has completely warn out. This looks like a perfect upgrade
You make total sense in your explanation and advice. Iâve certainly hit the subscribe button. Thanks very much.
I recently got a very similar spring steel plate for my A8 clone printer and it works really really well. I also added a small version to my Elegoo Mars 2 pro and it makes life a lot easier.
Thanks for sharing and sure would like to try it on my Ender as I have been thinking about it.
That looks really cool. A must have!
Great video as always Daniel. I need to add this to my Ender v2 ASAP.
Thank you for the precious suggestions! I would love to have one of those magnetic beds
I have been using glass build plates for awhile. They definitely are better than the stock plastic build plates that came with the printers. I like using them (glass plates) and have not had any really issues with them. I would like to try this plate and see if there really is a big difference between them. Great video as well. I love all your vids. They are very informative and you do them from the heart. Thanks for all the great vids.
That looks like it's so much better than the magnetic plate that came with my Ender3 Pro! Just the thought of not having to scrape the parts off makes me want to upgrade and leave the scraping-off for snowy sidewalks, icy windshields and dirty plates!
Great product, I have heard good things about it.
Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us đđ
Great video, very informative. I like the idea of the new surface and would like to try the new PEI Magnetic system.
Thanks for the video helpful as always
I'd love this upgrade, awesome video.
Great video! I was looking for a surface just like it
Great video! It is true that removing parts from a hot glass bed on an ender 3 v2 is very difficult but other than that it works very good. Still I would love to try the metal build plate just to see how it compares to the original glass bed.
Yeah, I was never a big fan of glass plates. They also tend to take longer to heat up.
Again very interesting!!!!! I would love to have one of those plates. Keep up the good work!!!! Greetings from Hulsberg in the Netherlands.
I have found with my ender 3 v2 glass bed, that just allowing the plate to cool to room temp releases the parts with out any struggle at all. I've often returned home or woken to a finished print sitting on the bed as if it had never been stuck to it in the first place.
Great video as always, I would add that take the opportunity before you put down the magnetic layer to check the screws holding the four bed mounts because if any are loose it won't be so easy to tighten then as you'll need to cut into the new layer for access. I've stuck with my Creality glass bed for over a year and it's been pretty good, replacing the usual clips with picture-frame clips and the size loss is under a millimetre in height and just a couple in depth, but having had more and more issues with prints sticking far too well to the glass the past few months, I might give one of the flexible sheets a go.
Great tip! I would actually fix those screws in their slots with some loctite.
Great video!! đI have an Ender 3 V2 and i would love new bed for printing new materials and dont be worried anymore that the ceramic coating of the glass chips offđ„Č
Excellent. Thanks for the tips
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, nice Video! Thanks for the infos. My old Ender 3 Pro Build Plate is already pretty worked up.
I'm glad this video came up on my feed. I'm just starting to upgrade my printer for my business.
You made me curious, I will probably try this!
Have been considering getting an alternative to the glass build plate for my Ender V2 so this sounds perfect
Thank you for an informative guide to installing the magnetic build plates.
I bought a used Ender 3 original with the original build tech clone pealing off I have 3 glass beds for it, but would rather have it compatible with my other printers.
Nice Plate, thanks for showing
us.
Recently ditched my build surface as it was really not working properly, this looks very promising!
I'm brand new to 3D printing and have a new Ender 3 v2 (with the glass build plate). Right off the bat I had problems with that glass plate. Nothing would stick! So I bought the other Ender mat you showed. BTW, my version of that mat is a two-piece. I stuck the sticky side the the aluminum bed plate and then the mat sticks to that magnetically. Well, that build plate is way better than the glass plate, but I've noticed in some cases the nozzle would slightly melt or scratch that soft surface. I've been doing my research on these PEI build plates. Seems this would be the best of both worlds. Magnetic (so no clips), flexible for part removal and more importantly somewhat tougher and having a surface that does a better job of holding that all import first layer. Would really like to try the build plate you featured in this episode.
This would work great on my v2. I'm tired of hair spray and glue sticks. Thanks for the demo, I look forward to each episode. Stay well, stay safe.
Great content! I was thinking about switching to a magnetic bed.
perfect timing, was looking for a new surface.
Exactly same here hahahah
I currently print on a mirror on my Ender 3 Pro (except for PETG which bonded to the glass of mirror #1). PLA sticks well to glass simply cleaned with some alcohol and with the bed temp at 60C. And after cooling the parts are released without needing any force. For PETG I still use the original flex-surface of the Ender 3 Pro, but that is starting to show its age, so I could definitely use a new surface. So, the magnetic PEI sheet would be very welcome.
Looking to upgrade my Ender 3 V2 to a spring steel sheet and this video came out at the perfect time.
Nice Vid. I've been wanting to try Energetic but just haven't gotten around to it.
Itâs funny I ran into ure video because I have been looking into buying a PEI metal sheet and now I know I wil get two one for each printer,Thank You
Go for it!
Thank you. I would love that surface for my V2. Old one is pretty scratched up.
well im a year behind i just got into 3d printing about 2 months ago started with the what came out of the box had a hard time but finally got a print i feel in love with 3d printing i did have issues than i got a glass bed than i was back in than after a few prints i felt like i just started 3d printing bed glue so far doing good but ill look into this type of bed ty
Great stuff, I am new to 3D printing and was looking at how I can improve my bed and you may just have the solution.
My glass bed had been much better for adhesion, but I have been bit by the nozzle hitting the clips for sure. The magnetic bed looks like a great upgrade!
You can stick the magnetic surface to the glas sheet for a better surface
I'd love to try the spring steel build plate. I currently use the sticky backed sheet and over time, air bubbles develop underneath and cause an uneven print surface. I never thought to use the build tak without sticking it down. I might just try that.
Iâve been using a Wham Bam flexible magnetic build plate for years and would thoroughly recommend it!
I was concerned with the flatness of my E3V2 bed, without the glass I donât know how good it is. I donât have a BLTouch but recently installed Jyers Marlin which has manual bed levelling for a 3x3 or 5x5 matrix so I think I will try this plate, thanks for recommending it so well. With the glass bed I never needed a bed levelling system, never had any issues and only checked it when I removed the glass bed but Jyers opens up the possibility of a different bed.
Love the video and the magnetic bed. I have an Ender 3 V2 that I'd like to try this on!
PEI sheet is a must have when printing ABS. I have never imagined that kind of drastic change especially using cheap filament with harder colors. But beware PEI coating could be fragile for PETG and misleveled beds.
Looks like a great print surface haven't tried that one yet.
Great option for the Ender 3 V2. Great Video
Oh man, I can definitely use that. Things can be extremely difficult to remove from my glass plate at times.
Would love to not have to wait for my glass bed to cool down just to remove parts. Thanks for the great videos Daniel!
That heavier build plate looks a lot better than the stock magnetic surface on my Ender 3 Pro. The plate underneath mine is slightly warped, I can tune it to print reasonably well on small areas but larger prints donât work well. I tried using a glass plate covered in painterâs tape but I wasnât much more successful. A sturdier, firmer plate with the build-tak-like surface might just do the trick!
That looks like what I really need right now
Very interesting, I'd like to try that.
Congratulations Peter Docter for winning the PET Magnetic sheet! I'll reach out to you to get your giveaway sent asap! To everyone else who didn't have luck: There will be more awesome giveaways on this channel, stay tuned!
Hey Daniel. Great video. Would love a new build plate as my one is always causing me issues.
Just got my ender 3 v2 so a fancy build plate like that would go down a treat.
Great video, i would like to try this on my Ender 3v2 with PETG. Thanks
on my ender 3 pro i switched from magnetic to glass bed and never looked back.
i print on the uncoated side, no adhesives necessary at all, just keep the glass very clean.
cooldown-time might be a factor, using water speeds up the process and lets you easily pop the objects from the bed.
definitely going to try the metal plate!
thats great. i think to need to get one for my ender 3 pro.
Nice, been considering one. My gkass plate has been giving me troubles after I forgot to change the nozzle height when I changed nozzles and it ground not only the new nozzle but the bumps right off the plate :( this.looks like a much better solution!
Looks brilliant. Be a good upgrade for my ender 3
I use them for 3 years and i love them
I'd like to have this upgrade to switch from glass with glue to a more versatile platform! Fingers crossedđ€
Great video by the way đ
This video game along just at the right time. I was looking into getting a glass plate but after watching my mind has been changed. Iâd like to enter to win this build surface because it looks like exactly what Iâd like to upgrade too.
Nice vid! I just have a question. How many times do you think you get failed prints due to adhesion problems with the magnetic steel sheet?
I would love this for my very first Ender 3 printer I just bought. Would be pleased to get it :)
That's so cool I did not know the metal magnetic plate existed.
About to finish the workshop, so moving my 3d printers and it would be nice, to try out a new build plate surface for my Ender 3.
Always looking to try something new. I'm wondering how well the non-textured side sticks.
PEI sheets are fine, still using it for years on the prusa but the ender3 max and cr 10 V2 heatbed are not really flat and have a recess in the middle. So this will get transformed to the metal sheet on top. You had to make some makeshift to get it flat.
looks great, I use one of these on my purse, would love one on my ender 3 pro
Good video on a good time. I'm looking for something that will be better than my reality glass bed. Maybe magnetic PEI will be the best solution? Wish to have one
Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed of the glass bed I got for my Ender 3, maybe a metallic bed like this one would make removing prints easier. Great videos.
I would like the metal print surface. I have a Ender 3 V2 and still have problems sticking parts. Thanks for sharing.
Awsome. i would love this upgrade to my ender 3, glass bed is good but i hate bed clips always get in the way
So true!
There was aslo another surface that came with the Ender3-X, It is buildtack coated ploycarbonate. Sticks like crazy and lets go when cool. But it does use cleps
I still have the magnetic from the original Enders 3 pro. Can I use this with the pei or do I have to remove old magnet and put new magnetic layer. I read something about magnets deteriorating with heat.
Daniel , my 2nd Ender 3 V1 shipped a month ago with a PEI coated fiberglass bed platen. I bought it during a price drop:-)
It is easy to damage with normal usage. I was always wondering how you stick a magnetic sheet to an aluminum base.
i was looking for a new surface look perfect
I have an Ender 3 with a glass bed. I would really love this steel plate.
i bought a pei sheet to print ABS and ASA thinking it has a smooth side and a textured side but it is only smooth. Does the smooth side have good adhesion with ABS/ASA?
Can you print abs on this magnetic plate
Will it not loose it magnetic properties as the bed heated above 100 deg celcius??
