How to win everyfight
Step 1. Discombobulate
Big brain
"I see this is an absolute win"
Step 2. Discombobulate
Step 3. Discombobulate
Step 4. Discombobulate
A little detail that makes this scene so brilliant, we see Watson hitting the guy over the head with a pan but when we pan away to Holmes we can still here the sound of it hitting his head. So we see him do it twice, but the sound tells use he hits him about 5 times, which means that Watson has no chill
Right! it makes the whole scene funnier hahaha
Well what did you expect, the man went through war, also I’m pretty sure he’s done more to people than slap them across the top of the head with a frying pan lol
😂😂😂
Robert mallet is 6'11" btw
i think its 6 times. the last one fades out after 5
Holmes' Fighting Style: *Stylish*
Watson Fighting Style: *Picks up a random pan and bash the other's head*
Well, Watson IS a slodier, he was trained to win, not to win stylishly.
It's called bar-room brawling
@@EternalVirgin more like tavern brawler feat
@@piritskenyer you misspelled soldier
@@thelonelyduck2823 nope, the slodiers are better, soldiers can only win barely XDxdXD
Holmes: First distract target. Discombobulate.
Watson: First find a cooking pan. Discombobulate.
LOL
Watson needs no crazy deductive skills to figure out that Frying Pan = Discombobulate.
And he doesn't even cluches its handle 😂
I like how Holmes seems to genuinely have no idea what the item he picked up is, but after only a quick glance around the workshop understands how it works and that it needs to be recharged between uses.
The world's very first stun rod.
@@charlottea.cavatica1696 and a mean one at that
he understands what it is, otherwise he wouldnt be able to figure out touching it to the metal pipes to reach the big guy
Yep
@@egeerdem8272 he knows it involves a lot of electricity but he doesn't know anything else beyond that
0:31 I will never get over how hilarious that is
I think it might be in case he gets winded from the throw- so he takes a breath- which might be a really cool detail
The one thing that makes RDJ characters bearable is that he has absolutely no problem with being whupped like a red-headed stepchild. Right up there with Tom Hiddleston letting himself be kicked in the balls over a dozen times - *back-to-back.*
I love the fact that he asks for a minute... and he was actually getting the guy to come closer to start the fight again.
@@gawarlock4148 I loved that as well, it reminds me when Moriarty's phone rang and he asked Sherlock if he can answer it, to which Sherlock said yes 😂and later Moriarty mouthed Sorry and Sherlock responded it's fine 🤣
@@paolaloncar1410 One of my favorite series! The Hounds of Baskerville episode where he tells the startled kid to "Shut up and smoke!" 🤣
In Season 4 when he is discovering the millionaire is a serial killer and Watson asks him, "Why are we here? and Sherlock, " I needed a hug." 🤣🤣🤣
I love how awesome that scene is, like even thought they're fighting with deadly weapons it still looks like they're a group of drunk hooligans with a great sens of fair play lmao
It looks improvised and chaotic like a lot of real fights, not overly choreographed and acrobatic like a lot of movie fights.
The "one moment, please " - "I am in no hurry" part sold it for me :))))
This movie was released at 2009, times flies so fast
you're kidding...it's been that long?

0:30 That noise is gold!
Heeeeh!
0:53 100percent ''bruh'' moment
The big guy's "Hmm" with a little smirk after Sherlock parrys his first couple swings is great
I watched this scene so many times.I haven't notice that until now.
It's like he's going "cute. This guy doesn't fight like a man." XD
Sherlock: trying to be smart with his calculated strikes.
Watson: THIS IS WAR.
*GRABS A PAN¨* BONK!
Well he is a soldier
“My 10 minutes are up.” Lol Wattson being cheeky and being like “Yea…I’m out.” I love this movie to death.
British way.
I love the little sigh he gives after Holmes says Meat or Potatoes, he's resigning himself to what's about to happen.
Thank you, I couldn't hear what he was saying there. 🙂
1:21 it's the birth of Iron Man.

What kind of bruisers are you having s3x with? 🤣
i like how they actually politely give them their 1 moment.
We know that both of them had a rough time in this fight. But I think if they were to switch enemies - Holmes going for the 2 goons and Watson going against the jock, they may have had an easier time. Holmes can take out multiple enemies no problem (if they’re irrelevant to the plot). Watson’ has pretty good grappling as shown in the rematch and has good knowledge on human anatomy, which proves to be useful against bigger enemies
Yeah. I think that was shown at the end when Watson took out Dredger. 'Relax. I'm a doctor.'
But this way is way cooler.
What's that thing Holmes is holding?
😂He requested a one moment for a breather and the guy approved.... that's what you call a fair fight😂😂😂
A cattle prod
Yep. A gentlemen's duel
I think he's holding an electrically charged tuning fork. Kind of reminds me of wireless power in a way.
@@SolusDarkcoat
No. He's holding a riding crop. In the books it's loaded with lead. This one just looks like a regular riding crop. Pretty useless weapon.
@@God-mb8wi huh, didn't know riding crops looked exactly like a tuning fork
The acting of Downey in this movie is outstanding
In the french version, meat speak spanish.
*Flies away*
In all honesty, he barely speaks French in the English version, heh. His accent is nowhere close to a French one.
@@jessiehogue. yeah, Robert speaks better French himself lol but it's still funny so it's all just good fun.
@@cebonvieuxjack That's... actually very true. RDJ's French is surprisingly good. Good catch.
Really?
@@jangorebelde3539 Yes, really. RDJ's French is a lot closer to actual French than the big guy's.

this is why i love this movie so much i mean yeah the shows good but it treats itself too seriously way too much whereas this is more comedic
@SJ HackettGosh, my favorite case was the one of The Red-Headed League.
Give your best appreciation to Guy Ritchie, the master of movie timing, next time you have a chance.
Robert maillet is 6'11"
They're going for completely different things. Of course a drama is going to be more serious than an action-comedy.

0:31 first rime hearing Sherlock screams like a girlXD
Probably something about inhaling first so the fall hurts less.
A man picks you up off the ground with his bare hands. IMO, I think that’s the realest reaction you can get in a movie.
I love how when Holmes asks for a moment to recover Dredge is like "its ok I have time"
RDJ’s scream though😂
I used the idea of a massive brute speaking a romantic language in my D&D game (in this case, an undead werewolf speaking elvish). I just love the strangeness of it
To be honest I genuinely felt sorry for the giant actor. When you see him running after this scene you can tell he was struggling a bit due to his flat feet, and also probably from the pain of his arthritis too. If anyone had seen the film “Happy Gilmore”, you’ll know what I mean.
Different actors. The guy in Happy Gilmore was Richard Kiel, who played Jaws in James Bond. Dredger was played by French-Canadian actor Robert Maillet.
@@joshuakrumlauf6481, exactly. Richard Kiel suffered horribly from arthritis to the point where he needed strong extras to support him in that one scene where the golf ball landed on his shoe. Robert Maillet may not have suffered as much as Richard Kiel, but it still must have been hard for him to run at a good pace.
Andre the Giant had to have Robin Wright lowered into his arms for The Princess Bride cause he was in so much pain

I love it how the music shifts during the fight from fiddle to accordion, like if Holmes (fiddle) got the upper hand or the French Muscle(accordion).
That scene with the electric rod is when Kevin Feige cheered, “That’s our Iron Man!”
This Robert should really like act in one of those big super hero movies

I love how Watson and the other guy completely freeze in shock and confusion when the big guy was sent flying.
The Frenchman is some unholy union of the TF2 Spy and Sandor Clegane! @.@
Ooof my dude u right!
Watson is brutal
I love this movie. it is the most brilliant movie with brilliant actors :D
benedicht is great but not gonna lie, rdj have a best mimic for sherlock i mean ...i read many novel of sherlock and my mind imagining sherlock is a funny, ridiculous and serious guy at the same time and rdj had all of that
Agreed. The Soviet Sherlock had a similar energy but you know older movies didn't have such choreography and fighting.
I don't care what you say - this is Jude Law's movie, Downey is doing a supporting part.
I love both movies! The first one maybe slightly more. Jude Law is my favorite Watson and Law with Downey have a great dynamic. ^^
This is such a brilliant piece of cinematography. The excellent mix of inflections, music, action, and clever use of French in just the right way...perfecto! This is one of my favorite movies to re-watch.
This movie’s not even a comedy, and yet it still managed to be funnier than Holmes & Watson
Irish music fits like a glove for this scene!
He plays second fiddle to Holmes' more wacky antics but I appreciate the respect on Watson in this scene. Absolutely goes to town on those two guys and only really loses at the last second when they pull a knife
The second guy just disappears too
I feel like unlike other interpretations, this Watson is actually competent and actually able to stand on his own. He is unfortunately not a super detective like Holmes
I love sherlock holmes

Utter Genius!
Downey and Law. Best Actors for Holmes and Watson
I mean.....great choices for this version. But not the most accurate to the original source material.
This scene is hilarious! 😂
The bgm is soooooo goood....😭😭
If anyone's wondering, what Holmes picked up is a cattle prod, it's used on particularly stubborn cattle, not sure why it's here in the middle of London though.
Perhaps a tool for experiments, they were in the lab of crazy scientist after all
And on this day it was called taser
This is one of the few scenes which we DO NOT see Holmes’s clairvoyance when in a fight.
It’s as if to suggest unlike the other scenes, Holmes has nothing to go on, this will be an uncoordinated brawl
I legitimately love that Robert Maillet is getting minor, but noticeable acting roles
1:45 XD
Such a clever scene
These two make an unbeatable duo for sure.
Yeahhh 😂
Meat or Potatoes? Wow! The big dude!
