I don’t get why bro called the police, I’m pretty sure because he confessed under those conditions that it wouldn’t hold up in court. Should have just kept going and left him for dead
Its most likely the father would be the first suspect when the original murderer’s body is found, so chances are that they will find the father guilty and at that point it looks WAYYYY worse than if he confessed like he did
While this is not true anymore it used to mean if someone was an outlaw they where literally outside of the law and the law couldn’t protect them, so basically people could do whatever to them
The Movie is called: Les sept jour du Talion. La loi du talion, is the equivalent of an eye for an eye in French. The movie is based on a book of the same name written by a French-Canadian writer, Patrick Sénécal, of the same branch and talent than the like of Stephen King. The movie/book explore the desire for vengeance and grief. The father is played by an amazing Canadian actor, who won many award for many of roles in many dramatic series and movie. The movie is originally in French Canadian.
Highly recommend both actors nailed it, both very good quebec actors. The movie is based of its book and is quite graphic but the emotions displayed on screen is incredible. Book is great too

All beautiful until the end when he called the cops. You want Justice, you want retribution? Then do it this way, like this father...but never call the cops, because theyll put you in prison
Technically torture is forced confession so the father literally sent himself to prison for life while the criminal got to walk free because his confession is void
You know, sometimes I wonder about all the fathers with children abused. Sometimes, those abusers disappear and are never found. We only know of the ones who were caught. How many more weren't? Keep them secret.
No matter what, taking law into your own hands make you into an outlaw Another crime doesn't cancel one committed crime and it wouldn't anyway bring her back neither erase the pain and agony she suffered due to some unrepentant criminal Christ forgave the most dastardly acts committed on himself, off course He's the Son of God but He therefore took human form and experienced everything to set an example of Divine Love, Forgiveness & Mercy It's not easy but it's possible, is the take away Love ♥️♥️♥️♥️💯
Is it really justified? I know its a movie but if it would be real life there is a chance he was just torturing innocent guy. Also the fact that he confessed means nothing, if I or you were in his place we could just lie and tell we did this to make the pain stop. Thats pretty much how it works, Im pretty sure that like 90 or 80% of tortured people just lie to make the tortures stop. Even logicly he did nothing. Now the dad will end in prison, the tortured guy will be set free cause this confession isnt worth anything and his daughter is still dead. Im writing this comment because I just believe we should not treat this Dad as some kind of hero or justify it because real life is never, and I mean never so simple.

You're a good father, too.
In the movies, he did not called the police, they found him and stopped him.
Old Testament " Eye for an Eye, and a Tooth for a Tooth "

It's just a set of rules to keep the masses in check

Real, everyone deserves love. Even though the average person wants to be an avenger, an eye for an eye makes the world go blind.
Is it justified? Somehow.
