In poison fog/floor battles, pick the Madama Butterfly spirit. It makes poison heal you instead of hurt.
It only heals a little bit tho.Must run a lot and trying to dodge you mostly take more damage than you heal

@@kanda8157 No, Oshawott here is correct, in a sence that neither has a "Big guy, lot's of health" boss. But personally, I would at least avoid Bayonetta's, because giant Palutena can be really unforgiving at higher difficulties.

I got the 9.9 intensity challenge with Rosalina & Luma. Not only does Rosalina & Luma have a final boss of Marx instead of Master & Crazy Hand, you also have Mario as an ally.

I got 9.9 with Roy, Pit, Diddy Kong, Lucas, Toon Link, Wolf, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina & Luma, and Cloud.
Incineroar and Chrom are easy since they actually have a partner to fight the boss with.
Piranha Plant, King K Rool are also pretty easy just due to their bosses and damage output
Ganon is easy aswell due to his damage output
Pokemon Trainer has mewtwo and master hand so it’s very easy
Ridley with side B will basically put you at 9.9 before master and crazy hand so just have some tickets for him

RealLeafNation ! True. My main is Link and I was able to beat Classic Mode 9.9 with him because he’s fairly heavy and Ganon isn’t too hard of a final boss. With the 4 star spirits, I just used a variety of characters I’m good with and used a fitting spirit layout for the matches.

3:26 I had SO much trouble with this battle when I realized you can hide on the small platform at the bottom of the stage and spam up smash as ganondorf.
honestly the 'hardest' about getting 9.9 is that it seems to be sorta luck based on how much insity you get after a fight
Most of Mr Game & Watch’s battle in classic mode are on full ground stages, so just camp at the very edge then when they get close, back throw them

I found an easier way to do the spirit battle, at least in my opinion. Just get super armor on your character. It's preferred if it's on a heavyweight like Dedede, or K. Rool. You'll have so much easier time knowing that you won't get easily launched by multiple attacks, it's especially useful with multiple CPU's.
Now the spirit I would recommend are those that grant either Super Armor or Slow Super armor. While the latter will make you very slow and heavy, if you pair this up with a character with great recovery like the previously mentioned heavies then you don't need to worry much. For the Ssa, the earliest if I can recommend is the Polar Bear.
Now is you want to have Super armor without the speed drawback, then I recommend getting Gold Mario. As far as I know, he's a summon exclusive; but he's easy to get. Just buy a Mushroom and a Fire Flower spirit from the shops. Next get Metal Mario, I recommend searching in the spirit board till you find him. Once you do, you can summon Gold Mario. He may take up three spaces, but combine that with a good primary spirit and that's all you need.
There's one last option, and it's arguably the easiest solution. If you want a Primary spirit with Super Armor, just get X (Megaman) and enhance his to his final form.

jesus jimenez if you get Megaman X's primary spirit and enhance it it'll give you super armor without the speed drawback. The only drawback is that it has one support slot.

I've been trying for an hour with young link. I just got 9.9 without even playing the final boss yet. I flawlessed the young link battle and somehow flawlessed the ganondorf battle.
I was helping my uncle with challenges, and we got to 9.9 through the one where you have to beat Mega Man’s Route. He went with Ganondorf, and it was the first time I managed to get to 9.9. The next Time I got to 9.9 was with Falcon on my own, and I got it before the final round.
I feel like it’s a exaggeration when you said that getting 9.9 in classic mode and beating a 4 star spirit are the hardest things in smash ultimate. I got at least 9.0 on characters I’m good at and just have a good spirit build on spirit board lol

honestly, for 4 star spirits, use
bowser
spirits:
soma cruz (primary spirit)
victini (hyper smash attacks)
great zapfish (giant)
then just spam smash attacks, sometimes you can do 50+ damage per hit, with alot of knockback
this setup has a team power of ~15000

i actually did the wolf thing you also did, and got a very easily victory, got a close call at the ivysaur part, but wolf's final smash saved the run, the same thing happened with snake, but i got midna to throw him off the walls, and really helped that snake didn't tech, and galleom is so cheeseable with wolf's side-b and the teleportation that happens with it, but im thinking the same can be done with fox and falco, as they also have some form of teleporting with their side-bs, but finally i got the 9.9 intensity challenge completed! thank you so much!
Not gonna lie I had little faith in myself on the classic mode part but in the end it was literally the most simple thing I’ve done.
just gonna say, ninten fight can be cheesed so easily by standing on the cloud underneath with plant and using his neutral B to spiky ball them to death
For classic mode, I used Bowser's strong attacks and side special grab to cheese my way to the final battle with 9.9 so I could use a ticket for the boss. Took me 3 or 4 tries, and I played through classic mode once with every character before that.

Hero Chao. I use Hero Chao almost every battle. He has very high power (10 091 at lv99) and increases FS metre charge speed. Use the two support slots to buff whichever special moves you’re most likely to use (e.g. for Simon, side special up and neutral special up work well).
For characters I mostly use Simon (unless it’s a stage where you might have to recover at any point in the battle)
For spirit battles use the WOL special, either mac with Medusa or some fist increasing spirit/smash/giant primary and whatever else you want. If its stamina use the one shot olimar strats with pretty much anything spiritwise
I beat intensity 9.9 with Captain Falcon since, at least in 2 fights, the CPUs were spiked very early.

I don't know if someone already said this, but If you use a spirit like the polar bear and use kirby, then u can always stay on the ground while using your side B and land really powerful hits
For Spiritboard pick metal+giant main spirit with hyper smash attack. Take a heavy with a strong wide range smash attack like bowser or ganondorf and use it once. usually is enough to clear most 4 star spirits. Only exception is, if there are special conditions like sleep/frozen/fire on ALL platforms. But you can use medusa (Only Giant) with a 2 slot support to prevent those hazards and can also do it rather easily. Metal just helps to get the smash attack through.
Use the metal face spirit (enhanced from mumkar). He makes u metal and giant. If u put a transformation duration up support spirit on metal face, every legendary spirit (except against Dr whilly) becomes easy.
Edit: I prefer using Bowser or ganondorf with metal face. But any character should work if u r decent with them

For the Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres spirit, pick ness and use his smash attacks. When you’re low on health use PSI Magnet (Down Special) to heal since 2 of the 3 Lucas keep using projectiles (One uses PK Thunder, the second uses PK Freeze, and the last uses his up smash)

9.9 Rathalos on Piranha Plant route was surprisingly easy for me.
I don’t know if this works but it’s a really good spirit set.
Use the Giga Mac spirit (Legendary Spirit with high attack power and 3 slots)
In the 3 slots use the Fi spirit and the other two slots use any spirit that ups the fist attacks
As the fighting character use Little Mac and spam the fully charged Special Attack
I call this one the “One Punch Mac” set
It doesn’t kill with one punch but it’s very OP

With kirby I reached 9.9 even before the boss fight itself using fair to combo of the level and then down air to spike them
For the Legendary spirits on the board, Enhance those three star enhancable spirits and get them to level 99 again. This should put your power level close to or exceeding the Legendary spirit power. You only need one of each type (attack, shield, grab, neutral) maxxed out. When your power is equivalent, it'll tone down the AI so you can beat it with whatever character you want. I say this but I've only used Ridley. In Adventure, the DLC characters unlock pretty early on. The AI can't deal with Min Min's smash and smash extension (tap A and maybe a direction after she's fully extended).
-use any character with a strong smash attack. if they are a swordfighter, use your most powerful sword attack up, attack focused primary (xander hopefully). if they are a bruiser, use the dlc heihachi misshima spirit. use the tree pose for unflinching charged smashes. if you have an extra slot, use hyper smash attacks or weapon attack up. charge fsmash, wait until you get hit, then release. continue until they die.

For the spirts I would recommend a super armour spirit aka

So when you fight a projectile character you will just tank the attack
PIP OWENS gold Mario and enhanced X are better because there is no speed drawback
Combine great zapfish and fiora so at the beginning you can have giant and metal!

I just completed Intensity 9.9 with Mr. Game and Watch today. Took me a couple tries and got to 9.9 by the time I got to Master and Crazy Hand. The final round was definitely brutal! At least it was worth it.
I only got 9.9 using Snake, to get the “Clear 9.9” and the “As Snake, Play Classic mode without being KO’d”
That might a good strategy if you're a DeDeDe main, but the same strategy doesn't work for other characters. Different builds are needed for different fights. I tend to only use 4 or 5 spirits when facing legendaries, two of them are what I personally call "super ace" spirits (primary aces with max power over 10k), and most of time, I use slow super armor. Works in almost every fight cept the ones requiring immunity to lava floor, zap floor etc. (Though first strike advantage works wonders against the Ninten fight).I mainly use Maria Renard (Symphony of Night, primary "super ace" spirit) or Hero Chao (another primary "super ace" spirit) to deal with most legendaries, but if I absolutely need another slot, then my go to spirits are then Beast Ganon, Queen Metroid, or Caeda. If nothing works, then I pull out my ultimate STRONGEST spirit: Soma Cruz. I guess spamming forward smashes with any character might get you past the first few stages of Classic mode. Oh and, Ikecide still works, so if you're an Ike main like I am, take advantage of that, especially when things are not looking too good.
What's funny is bowser gets his boss early on the stage before the bonus stage and his boss is Mario. And then after bowser dropkicks Mario at 50% another Mario with appear but this time he's metal
if you have pyra/mythra there is a rex sprit (3stars) you can get easily
a technique to get it i call chrom cheese is you spam chrom's up on the ledge to spike the oponents
and you can evolve that 3star spriti into a 4star blue sprit and its super powerful
*ahem* Have you considered using the Luma spirit? Its pretty op if you use it right
the classic mode thing really helped
Another cheesy way is to use Incineroar - side B is super useful vs giant and super armor spirits. just grabs the enemies outta nowhere, use that to chip them down and keep using it until kill confirm, easy peasy.
Finally, someone grasped the true power of the D
Kirby's Route is the best, you ram Pacman into the blast zone, then do the same with big yoshi, Get the Mushroom or curry to kill dk, Krool, and Dededee. Then just fight Marx as normal
How about Ganondorf/any other high-damage character with Golden Mario?
For the Ness battle, I went to the very bottom platform and started spamming up-smash with Ridley. Btw it worked

Rest with Jigglypuff's classic mode. It somehow works. Almost no other move. Just keep sleeping on them.
MY BEST METHOD is Slow Super Armor and Hyper Smash attacks with link and up smash

Here’s how I do it
Have Ness Equipped with any Primary Spirit (I recommend James Mcloud) and then for Support Spirits, if you have 2 slots, Equip any spirit that gives you a Death Scythe, then choose any other spirit you want for the 2nd slot. For 3, Equip a Death Scythe Spirit, then choose a Meloetta. You’ll be stealing Life and recovering damage at the same time!
Now, to the part where this matters.
Spam PK Fires at your opponent then once they get to 75% or higher, hit em’ with a Death Scythe Smash Attack and bam. Got yourself a level 4 spirit. This also works well in Stamina fights.
The most easiest way?! It must be foolproof!!!!

For spirits just use ganondorf, metal face and victini and spam forward smash
For spirits all you need is Medusa and just offensive spirits and use Olimar. The red pikman works wonders!
I used snake to beat Classic mode 9.9 because then you can get 2 challenges done together, and because his boss is galleom, and you can spam his specials at long range, since galleom isn't very hard when you're on the other side of the stage

The absolutely safe capsule spirit is straight up disgusting. You get it through summoning for reference. It has no support slots and literally 0 attack but it has the highest base defense out of every primary in the game, capping out at 9999 when it reaches lvl 99. I put this spirit on pichu and had it take an aura boosted final smash from lucario and it only took like 8% of damage.
I ALWAYS normally fought for legendaries I never thought of that!
But pirahna plant is really good for classic mode too (I got my record with him)

Without a joke, the easiest way to beat any spirit battle is use Medusa (Kid Icarus: Uprising) as a primary and Regigigas as a support, then literally any character that has smash attacks that do ridiculous damage (I found the best character for this was the Dorf). Giant + Super Armour = Unstoppable!
I have a decent way to get a few four star characters, but only the ones with not too much going against you (ex. Fog, floor stuff) first you need a spirit that’s really good for your main (I use meta knight so I use the galacta Knight spirit) and then it should be some what hard, but not too hard, and for the other ones use support spirits (you may have to Change the primary) that most “counters” the enemy (ex. For liquid snake use the poison heals spirit (I’m pretty sure that ones near the end of world of light) well that’s my strategy.

Another way to beat any 4 star spirit: 1. Black knight spirit lvl 99. 2. Slow super armor spirit (Polar bear or regigigas). 3. A character with a lethal special (Dedede down B or Roy neutral B) *Bonus* Combat item (50% damage, disable items, etc.).
Finally: Profit.

This attack goes really well with a spirit that makes you heavier. I often use Purple Pikmin with it.

First 9.9 came from Roy where I managed to get 9.9 before the boss I died on the boss used a classic ticket and when I finished it still counted as clearing 9.9
king dedede is quite inconsistent for legend spirits. spamming up special wont do anything against "tends to avoid conflict" spirits, most notably pauline. classic mode can be done with a buddy, so i found the easiest way to do it was to double ganondorf and spam any smash attack (though down smash has the smallest range) while covering each other, but is just as doable single player once you get a feel for him. he hits like a truck, and is naturally hard to launch. Even with master and crazy hand as a boss, due to stun time, a good buddy is all you need. of course you can also save up your tickets, as using them is a free revive with no penalty to difficulty, and there is an achievement for using them enough times. when it comes to legendary spirits, i find it easier to use a heavyweight main with any high stat, 3 slot spirit, equipped with celebi who is the only support spirit i know who gives good auto healing. add in spirit board items to compensate for the lack of skill tree buffs. celebi is a legend itself, but can be found in adventure mode. i use a neutral legend spirit to separate from the weapon triangle, more specifically, one of the awakened boss spirits. Getting your first legends is easiest to do by either summoning, or by awakening certain spirits, but the best way to give yourself a fair chance against legends is to have your own legends prepared.
