I was a music geek in school, took keyboard lessons for most of my life, and have been around musicians forever. I Remember buying Funeral out of curiosity because of this song. The day I listened to the entire CD was the day my perspective of what music was to me, changed. Arcade Fire is and will probably always be my favourite band of people. They force your raw emotions to pour out, they inspire you, each song is a story in itself. Absolutely wonderful.
You know, it's funny. My introduction to Arcade Fire was with the pretty-recently-released Reflektor, which I fell in love with. This is, in fact, the first time I've heard this song. And I'm so glad I have so much to look forward to.
There's a certain kind of bittersweet joy in a lot of Arcade Fire's music. It reminds me a lot of being on the brink of your teen years-those hesitant incredibly emotional moments that you don't really understand till years later.
Saw Arcade at Reading on Saturady, not only was it the best gig I have ever witnessed bar none, but they are such a lovely lovely group of people. Imagine being in Win or Regine's position and touring the world, doing what you love with your husband/wife. Truly a very special band making some truly special music..
I remember watching this on Much Music in old Canada when this first came out. It wasn't that long ago now that I think about it but I still a feel sort of nostalgia. It's amazing how far they have come. I'm glad to see their success! :)
Finally some people with actual talent are winning awards, it's been so long that it seems as people have forgotten what true talent actually sounds like.
I've not heard much of Arcade Fire's music, but I thought Their performance at Reading last night was spellbinding - the most original and exciting music I've heard in a long time.
this band is beyond words....i only discovered them today and they have truly blown me away...and they have got a girl on the band....i mean how cool is that!!

These guys were so professional, their musical equipment wasn't all there it had gotten lost, so weezer had to lend them instruments and they uaed whatever they could to go on with the show, it was a great act. Sadly not many people were there, well it was a good thing for me I enjoyed it more =]

This song just sounds better as the years roll by. A true classic, the piano creates a driving, oving sensation that I find useful for positive motivation, although the lyrics themselves are especially dark.

I'm sick of my diehard hipster friends saying that Arcade Fire is selling out since winning a Grammy. They didn't make the CD to win a Grammy. They can't control what awards they win. They're just that good. Now, as a true diehard fan, I am happy for their success and I hope they get the recognition they deserve. I'm not afraid to share them with newbies ;D
