John Bonhams favorite group which is high praise indeed. Supertramp was loaded with percussion. Rick became a master percussionist before he moved over to drum on the piano. So, you know Bob Siebenberg had to be great. Rick as a youngster started off faking the organ in order to get a job. Supertramp is the perfect blend of blue sky Michael Jackson played by Roger mixed with a more heavy grounded Black Sabbath played by Rick - the main difference being that Roger not only could play an instrument, but multiple ones.

It's not when you were born that matters most.
It's how the music impacts your soul. Does it grip you, envelope you in its melodies, does it move you, groove you and suit "your cup of tea."
How does it all travel within, delight you, embrace you, cause you to sin.
      Matters not what your age
Let the music 🎶 🎵 dance within thee
      And bring out your glee.
      For matters most
      Is the impact within thee.

Please stop saying they were “underrated”. They were huge and deservedly so! Then time went by, as it does, and new trends and new talent comes along and it becomes their time to shine. Rinse, lather, repeat. It always has been that way and always will. Otherwise music would have never moved past Frank Sinatra, teenybopper music in the 50’s and Elvis. It’s not like it lessens their legacy one bit.

This was 1 of my favorite songs amongst many of the 70's by Supertramp. If this was American Bandstand I would be sure this was lipsynched...but it wasn't! As a musician/singer myself last 4 decades (different name) I hated how some other TV shows didn't have artists perform Live. For those who weren't here in the 1970's...this is what REAL musicians & singers sound like! Once upon a time U had to be very talented & be able to play REAL instruments & REALLY sing & get up in front of a mic on TV or 1,000's in a concert & PROVE U were good! I did it...& many of my fellow musicians back then did it. I once turned down a Vegas casino offering LOTS of $$ to go out on stage & lip synch (mixed with Live like KISS last couple yrs) to not offend other acts who were less talented & I said "absolutely not"!! Autotune & computer fakery didn't exist back in the days of MIDNIGHT SPECIAL & that's why all these performances are so damn good! Turns out REAL musicians don't sound like boring lifeless computers trying to sound like ppl in the studio. Take a good look at these shows of the 70's bcuz this is was the best musicianship & music of all time!
