Almost forgot how incredibly sexy Orr was as a front man, and not just his look but his voice. This Midnight Special segment is so much better than when I saw them live in 1984, so so much better.

I can't help but cry my eyes out every time I remember watching these timeless classics with family and friends no longer here like Wolfman Jack.He's to my prepubescent years as what Captain Kangaroo/ Mr.Rodgers was to my adolescence.

Another fantastic episode, but how would we expect anything less from such a diverse and stellar lineup? This is one American who loves the Canadian representation: Gordon Lightfoot and Guess Who are both all-time greats.

OMYGOD THAT GUITAR RIPPED MY FACE OFF. I was convinced that I was watching the video on 1.5x and slowed it down to human speed. I WAS ALREADY AT 1x SPEEED. I recognize the main riff of this song, but I don't remember hearing this song before. This guitar guy is clearly an underappreciated god. He literally has stronger chops than Clapton, Page, and Frampton multiplied against each other. Dude is shredding before anyone knew it was possible to shred a guitar to pieces like that.

The crazy aspect of this performance is he’s lip-synching. The Midnight Special famously did not do much lip-synching! There are tons of great life performances from this show. And Prince hated lip syncing, and he certainly didn’t need to since he’s the greatest life performer ever.

So... NOT Domenic Triano James Gang nor Randy Bachman Guess Who.... No matter! This is a brilliant show. I always was pissed that our local cable provider didnt pick up ABC because I thought that Rock Concert was superior... I recall seeing this episode, though. Or at least Redbone, who performed a few times. Interesting times, musically. More diversity than nowadays in a strange way.

Anyone know where the third voice is coming from? In the chorus section of Doo-wops when Jeff isn't singing there's an obvious harmony with Kelly. It's not Bev as he's a bass and I don't think Richard sings. Wondering if Kelly's vocals were double tracked or if there's an off stage singer?

This song is probably one of the reasons why I have hearing loss and tinnitus to this day. I used to cruise around in my 65 Chevy Biscayne with a Sanyo tape deck and Jenson Tria-Ax speakers in the rear package tray. When this song came on, I would blast it so loud that the rearview mirror would be vibrating from John McVie's bass line and my ears would be thrumming to Lindsay Buckingham's guitar. Great times!
