One small thing I found funny about him was in that episode where he said he’s not good with kids, but proceeds to be that fun uncle that’s really good with kids
I relate to him in that aspect. I am not good with kids and thats why I make an extra effort to be kind and cool with them. I figure it was the same for him.
@@darthhatall6961That means you are good with kids
@@ethanrobert342 nah, I have to put up a front and it is very exhausting and stressful. You could say I am good with kids, but not naturally so.
AYOO?
@@ethanrobert342AYOOOO
One thing i loved about Dave is that when Chef Ramsey began about his arm, it was always in a calm manner. He never yelled at Dave for being stupid to push through, yet kept making it clear that he shouldn't push beyond his body.
It majorly helped Dave that he was so strong in service that he never really gave Ramsey a reason to yell at him, if Dave was bad he would've gotten shouted at. Ramsey's concern over Dave's arm was more likely due to worrying that it getting worse could cost Dave his dream, especially since Ramsey knows what it's like. He knew how much it meant to Dave
@@sup3rkidd333 100% Agree!!
I think with Ramsey’s experience of hurting his knee when he was younger and having to give up soccer, he could really empathize with Dave’s injury.
It mean something that when he returned to Season 11 for the service against the Black Jackets, the team was most afraid of him with two functioning arms.
Episode 4 also gave us a gem in the form of quite possibly the most blatant evidence to date that the episodes are edited out of order, since you can see Dave running around in the background of multiple shots before his "return" mid-service.
to be fair to andy, from what I remember he was left handed, and he cut his left hand. his injury wasn't as bad as dave's but it was his dominant hand and i can imagine that's hard to work around.
still, the fact that andy blamed his hand INSTANTLY while dave had only complained in his confessionals speaks volumes. its one of the reasons I admire dave - he never used his hand as an excuse, and fought to stay despite the pain.
Dave is the KING! He’s the second best winner just behind Megan, but he’s my favorite winner overall! It’s a shame that he didn’t get the promised position though.
Wait he didn't get into a Arisxi restaurant in Whitster, British Columbia?
@@ElectroLyghtnyn20 He did, but not as a head chef. I don't remember offhand, but I wanna say he was given the position of line cook. (Though, iirc, the Araxi restaurant wasn't owned by Ramsey so that's the likely explanation for why. Just a policy-type thing rather than anything directly spiteful)
@@HolyAlonditeThis is why later, the winner is working on Ramsay's restaurants or any restaurants in America. As Holli, winner of Season 7, didn't get the Head Chef position in Savoy, London due to her visa problem.
Dave is the hk GOAT, I rate him higher than Meghan, honestly.
@@jamesdshannon99 For sure
Dave blew me away this season. It was amazing to see a chef so dedicated fight through all that pain to the deserved winner. I also like how Dave always wanted Chef Ramsays respect and didn't want to disappoint him. Truly a HK legend!!!
DAMN RIGHT!
Honestly the one hand bandit is
One of the story you will never get tired of hearing/ watching from hells kitchen
There is a reason why season 6 is a legendary season
Best Seasons Ever
This season has 3 other potential winners
Kevin tenille and the other girl
@@aaronicxd9424 Dave is the only one not to get nominated this season
@@SMashborn kevin was also never nominated in season 6
Dave was a beast physically and in the kitchen.
Crazy to think Tony beat him AND Kevin at signature dish 😅
I have a feeling the S6 Blue team may have been cursed. Dave's wrist is hurt really bad during punishment, Kevin's ankles break, And Robert nearly freaking died!
Although Kevin’s Ankles improved gradually while Dave’s arm pain worsened but the latter still managed to win.
Also Andy injured his dominant hand
@@Commenter839 Andy sliced his finger on the peeler.
Still my favourite winner of Hell's Kitchen.
The literal definition of going through *Hell* to compete (with the injury and whatnot) and still going on one of the greatest runs the show's ever seen.
He's in that elite tier alongside the likes of Season 14's Meghan.
Dave is like a reverse of Virginia from S2. Shit at challenges, but he's got your back during service
Don't compare Dave to Virginia, he was a lot better than some of the other winners. Correcting!!
That's what I stated
Comparing Virginia to Dave is an insult to Dave
@@Nick_T_90 Hell Yes!!
When I watched Season 6 with my sister she was immediately rooting for Dave to win after his injury.
She was so happy when she saw Dave win, and I think what you said about Dave is true. He was the fan favorite of the season. For his dedication, his spirit and his resilience.
Man had only one fully functional arm yet he went on to work like he had four arms at 120%
Dave Levey is a total badass chef man.
Bad boy indeed
Dave definitely became 1 of the fan favorites & greatest winners in HK history.
And the first winner while incapacitated
Dave is a bad ass he worked so hard and he and Kevin and Many others made the season entertaining
The man won single handily literally!
Please do the other winners too i really liked this vid and be open seeing more like this
Not just my favorite winner, but my favorite HK contestant period! 🙌
Dave was insane! I still think that this season had one of the strongest final 2 in the whole series.
Both Dave and Kevin were injured and still dominated the competition
Dave is the bravest chef in that season and deserved to win, no matter what pain he was in, he still completed services.
Dave was never once put up on the chopping block
the fact that he just quietly asked for an ice pack, knowing what we know now about the injury, is absolute insanity and proves that him breaking his hand only released his powers
If one day someone will win HK with no arms, no legs, blindfolded and deaf, then I'll THINK about changing my mind, but for now... there is no winner or a contestant I respect and adore more than Dave Freaking Levy. Not many moments in HK can make my jaw drop, and yet him working 2 stations at the same time in ep9 left me absolutely speechless. Also not many moments can make me cry in HK, and yet the moment his doors opened I teared up like a baby. Simply a legend and icon, and I doubt that we'll ever going to see someone like this again. DAVE IS THE KING!!!
It's not exactly the same, but Cody managed to place 4th in a STACKED season despite being physically unable to smell or taste anything. (He kept it to himself during filming most likely so people wouldn't try to sabotage him, but he lost those senses due to an illness.) On top of that, I'm sure the only reason he placed 4th is because of how he handled Mary Lou at the pass, because he was a beast in challenges, was easily the most consistent on the line, and could have easily won most other seasons. *And* he managed to be Mary Lou's MVP in the finals.
I'm guessing Cody's accomplishments aren't celebrated as much as Dave's because he makes it nearly impossible to tell he had such a major handicap. I had to re-watch S19, but the only hints of this are that he was the sole person who didn't complain about drinking the disgusting milkshakes, and that he bombed the first black jacket challenge (Taste It Now Make It)
@@Commenter839 WOAH, DIDN'T KNOW THAT (tho Cody is my Top 5 favorite chefs of all time).
I saw that he got 2 out of 4 on the blind taste though, so that's very interesting.
@@Commenter839 it said that over the years he regained those senses to an extent, fascinating
I’ve often said that if HK ever does an All-Winners season (in a non-elimination format like Drag Race did), I think Dave would be one of the easiest choices to bring back for it. Hopefully they don’t rig it for him, but they may not need to. I can only imagine what he’s like now, if this is what he could do at the time.
its the season everyone want( the all winners season ) but it wont ever happen.
I know Dave has said (I believe in a response to a comment on one of his Instagram posts) that if there was any reason they'd want to bring him onto Hell's Kitchen, he would be willing to do it.
But mostly as a sous chef.
@@robfalter2522 an All Winners season of HK would never work
It’s amazing how of the 3 people who got injured (excl Robert since he didn’t have an injury, just a medical event, the 3 ppl being Kevin (ankles), Dave (wrist), & Andy (finger), 2 of them made it to the finals. I have so much respect for both Dave & Kevin for fighting through so much pain for so long & making it as far as they did
Him and Kevin gave us one of the greatest finales in HK history
This man is an inspiration
I would sometimes rewatch this season of Hell's Kitchen to see how tough and strong Dave was going through that much pain on his arm in the kitchen Services. He never gotten nominated for elimination by his team and nearly fainted on service but got back up to the point where Gordon was thinking of eliminating Dave due to the pain. But Dave didn't give up, made it to the finals with Kevin and became the Winner of Season 6 Hell's Kitchen. He only not won the competition, but also won Gordon Ramsay's respect.
Among of all Hell's Kitchen winners, Dave is the only winner who I think feel like he is an Anime Protagonist.
Dave managed to win Hell's Kitchen single handed.
Honestly, as good as Dave was, I have to wonder how much permanent damage he might have done to his wrist. Working in a high stress environment like a kitchen with an injury is a sure way to mess up your body permanently 😥
Dave is my favorite winner of all time in hells kitchen especially his one arm bandit storyline was so good my second favorite is Ryan from the American dream honestly both thier seasons had them facing some of the most strongest rivals ever in kevin and Jonathan it was incredible and i cant wait to see you do ryans story as him and Jonathans finale is very much like dave and Kevin just no injured body parts
We need an all winners season! Love to see Dave and Ariel back.
Christina & Rock to, maybe toss in Scott from season 12. Leave Nona and "Mr Big Deal" Paul out of it, their heads are big though has is.
Would be great to see both of them again
@@KDaynes43 Season 4 Christiana or Season 10?
What cemented dave as my favorite was when he was about to be eliminated and told ramsay " if you tell me my food is bad ill leave, but don't kick me out beacuse of my hand "
Thats when i knew he was determined to win despite his disadvantage
The greatest badass in reality tv history. It's so unfortunate that post-HK he wasn't offered his position at Araxi and left after all that.
this is great, though how come you did Dave before Season 4 Christina and Danny?
Dave's just a bigger character than both of those guys
Yeah I would love to see bio-videos of Christina M and Danny.
Dave really learnt from Gordon. He even kicked the bin in the final 3 service at the pass.
LEGEND
Nice video
I wonder which door at the end of the season has the most winners come out of it ( it would be interesting to see which door has had the most winners walked out of )
My favorite part is dave bullshitting the order
rank the hells kitchen intros

Just six words from me: THE ONE ARM BANDIT IS KING!!!
Dave is a true hero
Dave story was the first HK winner I watch live! Season six was the first season watch live!
You should talk about Danny and Paula from season 5, the season was mainly foreshadowing they would be the final 2
He’s my favourite winner behind Danny
Dave is the opposite of Mia and Virginia: Sucks in challenges but dominates in dinner services
WRONG! Dave is not Mia and Virginia, he was so better than the two and could dominate the competition than any winner.
@@johnwalker8893 Yes I know he is better than Mia and Virginia, I just stated that they did great in challenges but sucked in services, Dave was the exact opposite
I hope we get more than just winner episodes.
Can you do Meghan next
The GOAT
He just locked in
Him and Christina are my fav winners Christina for obvious reasons but Dave’s performance was AMAZING 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but was it since Ep. 7 where chef's table became a staple of the kitchen from then on?
Minutes later edit: And later down the video, I can't help but wonder how many good chefs were bad/terrible challenge cooks?
11:44 😂 20:58
Best winner of all time
YES. Dave > Meghan
Can you do Scott from 12
Scotley
17:14 I’m sorry but this is just hooey from Van; if JP was tight about him being Texan, Van should know that good BBQ looks/smells like shit.
32:05 cannot believe you left out the meat culture shock. That was a near disaster the worked out in a fortunate way.
Definetely a legend in a legendary season. Just too bad he decided not to continue working in the culinary field.
He’s still cooking
@@johnwalker8893 Last I heard, he left the culinary world to work with his sister and her art. I don't remember if he actually took the job at Whistler or not.
@@desertrose58 your right Dave was helping his sister with her music career in Nashville. Right now Dave works at a restaurant called Embark Smoked Meats in Boonton, NJ, he posted a few pics on his instagram.
The hk GOAT
Who y'all got
Dave or Christina 🤔
DAVE > every other hk contestant EVER
Kinda a mixed opinion on Dave,I kinda knew as soon as he broke his arm and was still doing good he would win the season, it’s so telegraphed that the season becomes boring. You know how’s it’s going to end and that everyone else is just fodder.
Boring?
@@johnwalker8893 yep when you know what’s going to happen and that nobody else mattered it’s boring
Honestly he would’ve won most seasons or at the very least make it to black jackets
Exactly Kevin was better
@@lerx_mex7601he really wasn’t, he was great, but Dave was simply better. Although I still wanted Kevin to win rookies vs veterans
He skipped Danny.
And Christina M.
@@margarethmichelina5146 nope. He did her. Check.
@@punasher I have checked it, but I can't find the video. The last time he recap the winner, he recapped Rock but that's it.
@@margarethmichelina5146 Really? I'm absolutely certain that I watched one for Christina.
@@punasher Nope, he did not do a video of Christina M (of Season 4). You are either thinking of: A) A video on Heather West from season 2 and she does kind-of look like Christina M. or B) A video of Christina Wilson from Season 10 on her journey to Season 10 then (until recently) was sous chef for the red team in HK.
it’s been over 15 years and royce still got robbed! smh
Royce was not in Season 6
