  • Who said you can't have a salad for #Thanksgiving? Well you can -- as a side dish! This salad is perfect for fall, and is very #lowcarb despite the inclusion of fruit. What you want is the flavor of the fruit, without eating a big piece of fruit. It makes all the difference.

Such a nice video! Every cook should learn how to make the simple vinaigrette you demonstrate here. I love your use of pear, here! The diet is low carb, not no carb! Bleu cheese crumbles, some bacon bits and walnuts--maybe even your dried cranberries-- would make an elegant meal. A glass of red wine with this?

I love this, and hoping for more holiday ideas, thank you! I also love California olive oil and it’s actually ranked highly on independent oil surveys. You’re looking fantastic and healthy!

Good morning Dots, it nice you using pear in way that doesn't affect our carb intake. Pears are my favorite fruit but because I'm in keto I had to let it go. It good i can used it but moderate. Have a great Tuesday morning. 💚💜❤💙🌹

Could you use strawberries, and the dressing still be good with it? This looks great.

Looks delish! How do u dry the lettuce in the fridge? I'm thinking a bowl, but water will gather in the bottom...strainer?

It is not the most environmentally sound, as it uses a lot of paper towels. After washing I gently use 2 paper towels to help dry before the greens go in a salad spinner. I place a paper towel at the bottom of a container, put some greens on top, place another paper towel on top, then layer another set of greens (sort of like making lasagna) and continue until the container is full. The paper towels help remove the excess moisture.

    Hi Dot love this idea!
    Plus greens fill you up.
    Sounds very tasty.

I use Wegman's brand (my grocery store). I tried a different brand on a whim a year ago and fell in love. but that was too expensive. When my grocery store was selling their brand of it, I picked up a bottle to try and never looked back. I'd marry it if I could --- it is that good. It is minimally processed and bottled with in hours. It is like crack to me.

Looks delicious. I’ve recently started following your channel and I saw your earlier transformation and I applaud you. Not trying to be critical but have you gained some weight back? You’re lovely don’t take offense, I’m saying that because I’m finding I lose weight then gain weight and lose more and gain some. Fortunately I’m still going down overall. Is that your experience too? Again I think you’re awesome and please don’t misunderstand my message I know it’s not polite to ask a woman about weight, but you’re experience is what I’m trying to understand and relate to my own.

No offense taken. And thanks for the question. I have gained weight back. My mother broker her hip in May, until a couple of weeks ago, was her only caretaker for the last 5 1/2 months. That lead to lots of stress eating and just not taking care of myself. So I'm working on getting back on track. The problem with health is we all have our triggers that set us back. For me, stress is it and I'm looking for ways to deal with that now so I don't turn to food (especially high carb "comfort" food). I'm glad you found the channel and are enjoying it. I'm actually planning on doing some videos focused on me getting back on track since it something those of us trying to lose weight have to deal with at sometime. :)
