We went carnivore for 3 months and both felt an improvement from day one. No adjustment issues. Sleep better, skin looks better, gained muscle tone, teeth are whiter and shinier.
ME: I was already at my goal weight but my body composition quickly changed. I'm in my 40's and I grew muscles that I never had (even in my 20's). Without any extra exercise. My facial skin looks smooth and even, no longer red and flakey. No more pimples, eczema, dandruff or fungal infections that plagued me for most of my adult life. No longer constipated. I sleep more soundly without my previously tossing and turning. I wake up refreshed with energy all day and no longer need naps. No longer "hangry" all the time and I'm less irritable.
HER: My girl has several auto-immune diseases and this has been a god-send to her. She has lost 4 kg or 9 lb and gained some muscle. Her constipation, nausea, vomiting and bloating disappeared, joint pain gone 90%, insomnia of 20+ years gone, stomach pain and chronic fatigue gone 70%. Periods now regular to 28 days and 50% less painful. Her hair, eyebrows, lashes and nails are growing back. Previously had 10 years of thinning and bald spots, and nails splitting to the pink and bleeding. She gets blood tests and her kidney function and gout have improved almost to normal. Cholesterol has remained in the healthy range. So much more but it will get boring.

You two are so cute together I just love ur channel and how you work together I think that’s awesome. I lost 110 pounds on low carb eating five years ago. I lost my husband and gained a little bit back and I found ur channel and you/both of you have given me that spark again to get back on it again. I follow ur channel religiously lol I’ve made ur meals I prep a bunch of meals in one day and then freeze them for the week. You both are a true inspiration for running this channel. You two remind me of me and my husband back in the day. We did it together as well and encouraged each other to stick with it. It took me two years to get it all off but well worth it. So glad to see that John shows great promise for a mid-life career as a hand model! Jergens definitely wants to talk to you! I am going to stick with keto for now as I have done well with it and I like the variety I can have. If I have steak I love a salad with it. I find the vitamin C comments interesting. Will have to look into that. I didn't get my usual fall cold this year. Only difference is I was keto. With the spicey stuff for me it doesn't affect me as much as certain types of oil do. Lots of Chinese restaurants make me have to hurry!

I always swear the bouts of diarrhea are the cells shedding, one thing I noticed with switching from keto to carnivore the body toning on its own. I lost 80 lbs on keto and stalled for months, carnivore and cutting dairy I lost another 15 in the first month I will lose loads of weight then nothing a few weeks, but I went down 2 more sizes.. and the natural fasting that comes with, 😄 I know you like to fast and shed cells, its easy to only eat once a day! 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound of lean mass or ideal weight is what I learned to be standard 😍 when I feel weak it us usually cause I'm lacking salt and potassium I add "no salt" and sea salt 1/8th tsp with some lemon, water, and some ice.. but I also learned once the body has the salt and potassium it needs it will dump the excess... aka diarrhea 🤗 good luck my friends

Dot Daddy's in the house! Great to see you both for a change. :-) I started carnivore after your last video. Not strict...but more meat than usual and less carbs than usual. I second (with a loud voice) that I feel much more full for a longer period of time and that is why I am liking it very much for now. I think I'll keep doing some "green" as I think my body needs the roughage, so I'll probably never be 100% carnivore. But, for sure, ground beef patties and eggs are my mainstay for now. Thank you for the challenge, Q&A and for bringing us another challenge in February. :-) PS...Hope that hip gets much better soon!

Keep going, Mr. & Mrs Dot2Trot! Everyone needs to find what is right for their bodies, and make their "own" diet, depending upon your stage in life, or medical needs. In 1995, I ate at least 120 grams of protein per day when I was pregnant with my twins. They were born at 7 and 7.8 lbs. each and we were all very healthy! A year later, I couldn't tolerate the Atkin/high protein diet. 10 years later, I tried vegan/no added oils (Forks Over Knives) and failed miserably, cholesterol high, kidneys bad. Now, LCHF/50 grams or less carbs works really well for me. At 57, I am at my goal weight, and only gained 1 1/2 pounds over Christmas, even though I cheated somewhat and enjoyed myself. I listen to my body to tell me what to eat more of/cut back on. I need some plant fiber, and get my carbs from plants, nuts and seeds. Just DONT listen to an allopathic medical doctor on diet/wellness. Go naturopathic.

Hi guys, I switched from keto to carnivore in May of last year and in the process I found CZcams's KETOMAD who has now switched to CARNOMAD as a good source of carnivore information and would suggest people check him out. As for the cost of doing carnivore, I am now eating just beef and I can get a 10 pound tube of commercial ground beef for $20 and that will provide all of my meals for a week. Some people will find fault with me not eating grass fed and finished beef, but it works for my health and budget and it certainly better than the standard american diet. I have been keto/carnivore for 13 months and have lost about 85 pounds and have taken my percentage of body fat down from 35% to 16%, so it seems to be working for me. Keep your videos coming.

I have read and heard in many places that animals are acidic, including animal products. The body keeps an equilibrium of around 7.4 Ph. If we eat too many acidic foods, the body will take alkaline minerals from our bones such as calcium to keep the 7.4 Ph. Taking calcium from our bones causes osteoporosis. Acidic foods also cause joint aching. Carbohydrates become acidic if they are not burned off as the sugars they are. I think that what is called arthritis is actually eating too many acidic animals and carbohydrates and of course sugary foods. Even eggs are acidic.
I listened to Barbara O'Neill naturopath for a while. She says there is enough protein in green leafy veggies. I am on that diet now, except for eggs. I need to stop eating eggs, too. We have veggie teeth.

In my journey with carnivore, fiber made it worse, even soluble fiber. Plants have oxalates, sharp glass shard like crystals that cause gut health issues.
However, I would be seven to ten days no bms and that wasn’t good either.

As for the science behind it, consider that we had over a million years essentially eating carnivore (with little detours along the way). Your concerns are valid with regard to just about any question you'd have about a meat-only diet, and I'd love to hear what various doctors who are trying it would have say. Scarlet, right now it is hard to say if carnivore is helping as I think you need to go longer than 30 days to fully adapt your body to it. Plus with all the PT i'm doing, it is really hard to say if food vs. PT is helping me or both combined. There are days I feel great and days where it just hurts to move. I'm only a few weeks in so I think that's expected. But as for the food front we're announcing a new food challenge this week specifically related to inflammation and autoimmune issues. I'm doing a keto version of it while the hubby will have a higher carb range than me. But I am taking the lesson learned from Carnivore about eating more protein to keep me full longer.

My immediate advice is stay away from the nut recipes. Yes, I know, I have nut recipes on the channel. But it doesn't mean you have to use them. I provide them for people who want a treat once in a while and can do so without problems. But they DO cause problems for some people. As for veggies, some also cause issues, and it may require an elimination diet to find out which ones cause the issues. Carnivore is great for that. Best of luck :)

I have not had any problems or issues with it. I still eat some carbs when I feel like it. I feel a bit more energy than before. I had a bit of joint pain for about a week. I attribute that to working harder than before. I put a little bit of ketchup on ground beef to make it more appetizing. I can't imagine eating much more than a pound of meat a day. Maybe that's because I still eat some carbs...maybe 15% at this point. At my age, rapid, sweeping change (like the 30 day challenge) is not a good option for me. Thanks, for your video.

Beautiful blood work. Then I got hurt, and started limping everywhere. Could be this set off a chain reaction which led to inflammation, or other things that aren't inflammation. @@slyviewer99 I have an unstable hip from several falls before I went Keto. Keto stopped most of my other inflammation like arthritis, but not the unstable hip. According to my physio at the hospital, the unstable hip usually results from previous injury not healed, and does not reflect current inflammation. One muscle will be overtight and the tendon shortened and scarred. The other balancing muscle and tendon will be over stretched. Both muscles on that side of the hip are weaker than the other side. The brain remembers the original injury and doesn't tell the muscles to rebalance as its trying to protect the joint. Instead it gives you a pain feedback to tell you to stop exercising the joint to further protect from injury, keeping us in a cycle of unbalance + pain. The body has to be retrained by sustained slow stretches + strengthening to get that pair of muscle's correct balance back and teach the brain that we are no longer injured and its safe to move again. Chiropractic treatments at the same time may be required also. Its kind of a physical + brain issue rather than inflammation. Does that make sense?

When I'm doing 70% fat I'm eating way too much dairy in the form of heavy whipping cream sweetened with a water enhancer, I've become addicted to it almost and as a result i haven't lost weight and it also gives me a super high caloric intake. So..your video confirms to me what I'll be switching around. What I'm taking from this is that protein stays with you longer than fat alone does, but who know trial and error, right?

Just to have something to compare to when you go back in to physician for same visit later. And doing both these visits while fasting. You can see the outer physical changes. But how do you know if this diet is changing your blood work for better or worse? I'm just curious. I guess my main concern is positive or negative effects on heart, liver and kidney functions. Good question. I'm in the process of changing doctors so I haven't done my 2019 physical yet. While I haven't done blood work before this challenge, I do check my keto and blood glucose levels regularly and I haven't seen any problems on that front and in fact saw improvements with glucose levels. But everyone is different and will respond differently. I will say that someone with kidney disease should talk with their doctor first before trying carnivore. More protein doesn't damage healthy kidneys, but it can cause serious problems if you already have kidney disease.
