I have 2 greenstalks and love them! I'm in Southern California and have had New Zealand spinach (which is a vining spinach) and a mini purple bell pepper growing from the same plants for 3 years non-stop.
You could plant some of the pumpkin and some corn and ,we used to gather ground pine and acorns and pine cones and leaves and make wreaths .❤❤
Candy corn colors would've been CUTE in the black planters

Don’t forget to feed all your pumpkins to Moody and Mildred and the goats! They will love them. Fiber is very good for them and the seeds are thought to help with worm load! I got all the pumpkins from the post office display just after Thanksgiving! My goats were so happy !😊
They said they were going to feed them to the animals, reuse the straw and put the mums in the ground after the holiday season.

When Jason said “I told you to do as your heart desires”…it just made me smile so big - cause it’s exactly something my precious hubby would say to me. Jason is a good man who knows the real deal… if mama is happy - everyone will be happy!!! ❤. Your decorations looked great!!! I enjoyed watching Brooke’s excitement when talking about getting to enjoy the decor for two months!! 😊. I begin my decorations for fall in the middle of September and leave up till after Thanksgiving. Then I decorate for Christmas and leave up till the end of January. It’s too much work to not enjoy it as long as possible!!!
I started doing this about fifteen years ago and have noticed as soon as I put my decorations out, all my neighbors do theres too. It makes our entire neighborhood look great and I love it!!! 😊. Enjoy the cooler weather and all your pretty decorations!!!

Brooke, I think a scarecrow in the middle of those corn stalks could be for both holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Looks good enough to be a photo spot. Maybe folks will stop by for a Holiday picture and then get some coffee. Can't wait for the flowers to bloom! 😊

BROOKE - My daughter's in-laws have several farms, and raise crops (wheat, corn, soy beans, alfalfa, etc.) but the only animals have been chickens. The Mom raised a garden that met all their needs for vegetables. They raised 10 children, and their ability to send 10 kids to college was limited. Their solution was to raise pumpkins--and the kids kept track of the hours they worked each year. Of course their responsibilities/activities depended on their age and abilities. They live in a nice rural community like yours. They put out the "Pumpkin Wagon" every fall, and have a locked cash box like you all do--and have never had $$$ or pumpkins, gourds, dried Indian corn, etc. stolen. The kids accumulated their hours annually, and when it was time to begin college they could withdraw their money. Later on, they began selling sweet corn from the wagon--of course, that began in July and was done before the pumpkins/decorative corn/gourds were ready to sell. The kids kept teack of their hours the same way. In addition to selling from the wagon, they also sold at 2 nearby Farmer's Markets. The first pumpkin wagon started over 40 years ago, and now the local grandchildren care for the wagon crops, the wagon, the publicity, and bank the funds. All of the items you bought today could be grown on Cog Hill Farm; just enough for your decorations would be fairly easy to grow. I know you are always considerate of your farming and business friends, so you do not compete with them. However, growing enough for decorations for yourselves, Brooke's mom, and Jason's family would not take profit away from other growers. For my daughter's extended family, instead of trick-or-treating, the grandchildren have a hay ride on an old hay wagon pulled by a tractor across their farms. The kids can wear their costumes or not according to what they choose. They have a chili supper together, then after the hayride they have a bonfire and make s'mores and have other treats. It is a wonderful way to celebrate their hard work for the growing season--and to be together!

Everything looks beautiful! The pansies were my great grandma's favorite ! Every fall she would get the seeds from the plants and the next spring, plant them to make more beautiful flower beds. She lived to be a 103 and I so enjoyed spending time with her and her pansies !!
My maternal grandmother’s middle name was Violet. I’ve always loved pansies! I call them little faces!

I love it! I used to decorate our front porch area and also did the decorating for my church entrances. Will be great to be able to later plant the mums. If it is something that you may like, I always would get bow made of ribbon to put around the tie of the cornstalk. You can buy one premade or get a spool of ribbon and MaryCarl can make them and you would have enough for your own front door for you everyday enjoyment. You could get a scrap piece of wood and paint Happy Fall Y'all on it for the egg stand.

You might want to consider a couple of bigger bows on the gate for a little extra something
Love fall colors mixed into the garden or porches with pansies and mums and pumpkins and fall bows and wreaths
Easy decoration for very little effort
When your ready to throw out the cornstalks, strip them, & use the bamboo looking sticks in the Potege Gardenn for trellises. They are beautiful!

I love the choice to mix different colored pansy's in that tall tower. Each color will compliment the other and really make them stand out so pretty!

Your entrance is beautiful with the fall flowers (❤ pansies), gorgeous pumpkins, cornstalks . Now all you need in the middle is a scarecrow made with Jason's old overalls and a straw hat. You are decorating for fall. We in Calgary, Alberta are awaiting our first snowfall. . . . We have always said that we do not live in Calgary because of the weather. Your display is coming along nicely. . . . go for it. Costco is featuring their pumpkin pies once again. We are celebrating Thanksgiving this coming weekend because some of the grandchildren need to spend time with in-laws as well. 😊

Brooke, you’re incredible a wonderful daughter very well educated a husband who is handy and just about is everything he tries and you young lady can do some amazing things with that freeze dryer and dehydrator. I never thought I could do stuff like that. I’m just trying to put my pennies away to get one you’ve open my eyes to a lot of things to save and the time to come, and we have to do it cost to live in getting very high, God bless you all if I was down there I would definitely be over there giving you a hand putting that fence up for the rest of the animals because I love what you’ve done..❤❤❤❤❤❤
