Is this just for US residents travelling or would it work for Canadian travellers I wonder? We leave for Portugal in 2 weeks, Porto, Lisbon and the Algarve. Thank you for your videos, they are very well done!
@@dawnsmith4011 Hi Dawn! It should work for Canadian travelers as well! As long as your phone is eSIM compatible!
Pasteis de Belem and pasteis de nata are different, similar but different. The ones from Belém have their own secret recipe (like coca cola ;)) they are only made in that pastry shop, they must be enjoyed inside if there is space, despite being large, you may have to wait. Eat with coffee or tea and add cinnamon and sugar, wonderful when warm, you can ask the waiter for the amount you want to take, you don't need to queue. Pastéis de nata, exist all over Portugal and begin to exist in many countries where the Portuguese live. In Lisbon, every year a competition is held to choose the pastry shop that makes the best pastel de nata.
Thanks for that tip😊
How long do they last in case I want to bring some home as gifts?
@@MichaelCorleone562 Pasteis de nata should really be eaten as fresh as possible, but in case you do buy some as gifts, I would not keep them for more than two or three days - and you can place them in an air fryer or a microwave (although the microwave might soften them a bit), because they always taste better warm. I make my own, so I would always choose to have them fresh.
I absolutely LOVE Lisbon and its people. As soon as you touch down you feel peace overcome you. I can't describe it but it's magical. My favourite city in Europe by far.
Im from Portugal and noticed you liked the Pastéis de Nata wich is understandable😂 but there are other types/flavours of pastéis wich are really good and you would probably love perhaps even more than the pastéis de nata. There are Pastéis of curd(requeijão); carrot(cenoura); milk(leite); almond(amêndoa); bean(feijão); orange(laranja). These have a pastry that is really soft. There are also other types of similar cackes called queijada. The filling is similar to the sweet pastéis but are larger and shorter and the base is non crunchy, its more like a soft pastry. The queijadas have a filling similar to the pastel de Nata.
Beautiful architecture and tiles! Yummy food! Would love to see Lisbon some day ❤️
Literally the best video I've seen on Lisbon so far! absolutely amazing editing work and very genuine down to earth folks!! Love it! I'm going to Lisbon in less than two weeks, so this is a great itinerary for one of the few days I have there!
You guys did so much in 1 day! Impressive! I've been waiting for this video for a while and you didn't disappoint. Glad you liked my city. Keep up the good work!
Awww thank you Pedro! We love seeing, eating & doing as much as we possibly can in whatever time we have! Haha 😂 Thanks so much for watching! We are in love with Lisbon! It’s such a beautiful & amazing city! Thanks for watching & for your kind comment! 💗🥰
My goodness you guys crammed a lot into one day! Well done. Really enjoyed the video and all of you tips and tricks. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
This Lisbon day was one of my super favorites of your videos. Maybe because I’ve been to Lisbon, it was really fun seeing places I’d been and some I hadn’t. Especially enjoyed seeing the boat tour.
Another great video! You guys are adorable😊.
We stayed at an AirB&B in Alfama and every night we passed 4 or 5 Fado singers, some on the street, some in clubs. Lisbon quickly became one of my favorite cities
Would you recommend staying in Alana vs other neighborhoods? Going in April!
@bethanylawrence161 Alfama was by far my favorite area of the city. If you like narrow cobble streets and being in the oldest part of town, it's your best choice
We loooved Lisbon too!! Such a beautiful city. We missed Time Out Market when we were there, but it looks amazing. Free bathrooms are always a score there 😆 Beautiful video!
Great video. You two showed so much! The town looks jut lovely and seems like you had great weather too. ♥
Love the drone footage!! Great to see Lisbon from another fellow travellers' perspectives! ✨✨😍😍
I have to think of something new to say 😂 because if not it’s gonna be the same thing…YOU TWO ARE AWESOME!! No one does it better than Matt / Natalie 👍🙏✈️☕️🍮
Another awesome videos guys !!❤
I wanna go back so bad !! Miss my Portugal 🇵🇹
Thank you!!🥰 We loved our time in Portugal! We definitely want to go back and see more! Thanks for watching!😊
Probably one of the longest tourist selfies from Lisboa this season.
Keep up the interesting work!
👍🏼
A really excellent travel and gustatory adventure. Lisbon architecture is gorgeous (appealing red tile roofs are plentiful). The natural scenery is beautiful. The people seemed so genuine. I loved when many of them looked into the camera and waved or smiled. The boat ride was simply lovely...and the locals' singfest at the end made me tear up. Enjoyed it all. Well worth watching more than once. Thanks, Matt and Nat.
You can go up to the triumphal arch on Rua Augusta, there is a lift, entrance fee in one corner.
Awww thank you sooo much! 🥹🥰💗 You watching & for kind comment really makes our day! We absolutely loved our time in this beautiful city!! As for the "tremoços” I'm still laughing and as for the piri piri sauce I can't eat it because it burns but I love the grilled chicken!😃

That missed dinner res in the last video was such a bummer. Glad y’all got to see the sunset in this one!
Ahhh thank you so much for watching both of our Lisbon videos! 🥰 yeah it was a nice ending to our trip making up for the missed reservation! 🤣👌🏼 Thank you tons for the comment! 💗
I love the music that you put to this! I sing some Portuguese jazz so…I really like it! Sending love from Bremerton, Washington.
Most of the music used in the video is brazilian or latin americsn.
Nat , do you have any travel beauty advise or could you do a video? What hair tools do you use, how do you make your hair last, how do you pack your outfits and make up, etc
There is a tasting history episode on those monk cakes. He makes them perfectly.
Your videos are great! I’ve been binging them lol. You guys are so cute together ❤
Cheers 🥂
Thank you so much for doing this video.....we are headed to Lisbon at the end of April
Awww yay!! Hope it was helpful!! Lisbon stole our hearts, we hope you have so much fun! 🥰🎉
Lovely video ! The food and drinks are the refreshments for a beautiful city. Definitely added to my bucket list !
Btw, a new Buc-ee’s will be coming to Ohio, just north of Dayton in Huber Heights. That will probably be before my trip to Portugal 😊
Awesome! Gonna need some tips were going to portugal this december 😊
Just ask, if there are Portuguese registered here you will receive dozens of suggestions
Aw… So fun! It’s a beautiful city in so many ways! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!🥰
In December there are far fewer tourists, perhaps the best thing is at Christmas or New Year's Eve, to see the fireworks by the river. It can rain and be cold, there is no snow, we only have it in the north and in the mountains. Go to restaurants outside the central area, in the alleys, traditional neighborhoods, those terraces are tourist traps, expensive and common international food. If you have time, go to Cascais or Sintra, by train and see the palaces, especially in Sintra. There are museums with free admission on Sundays. and there are many, such as the Gulbenkian, Museum of Ancient Art, Museum of Coaches, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Electricity, these in Belem. Wear comfortable shoes as it is tough to walk in the city and be careful on tram 28, pickpockets love it.
On the other side of the river, you can go up to the top of "Cristo Rei". You can also climb the "Padrão dos Descobrimentos" and there is a panoramic climb on the 25 Abril Bridge itself, see if it's working. Alternatively, you can cross to the other side by taking the train that crosses the bridge.
I absolutely love lisbon
Sammme!!😍😍
I absolutely love you our CZcams channel. You are absolutely awesome I just love yours personality and you're outgoing bubbly personality
Awww thank you so much! 🥹🥰💗 We appreciate you watching & taking the time out to write such a kind comment!
Nat - your descriptions of food tastings are fantastic; could teach Stanley Tucci a thing or two. Awesome detailed and energetic!
Oh my gosh 🥹🥰💗 you are soo sweet! I don’t think I’m good at all at describing food so thank you, I’m trying to get better! Haha appreciate you so much for watching & for your kind comment! Hope you have a wonderful day! 💗
Truly impressed of what you guys accomplished in just one day, I feel inspired to go visit Lisbon 😃😃😃
Oh my gosh this is the best comment!! 🥰👌🏼 We truly try to do, see & eat as much as we can in whatever amount of time we get! So that means a lot! We can’t recommend Lisbon more! It’s truly an amazing city!
Love from Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤ hope you enjoyed my country ❤
Thank you! 🥰 We really did love our time in Lisbon! Can’t wait to come back and see more of the country!😍 Thanks for watching!
LOOOVING these Portuguese vlogs! I've been meaning to go for a long time and this is really making my wallet itch for some next-week flights! (Is Edinburgh one of the 1000 places to see before you die? I'd be happy to show you all my favourite hidden spots if you ever make it around to my neighbourhood! .) )
Yes!!! You should go!! It’s such a beautiful & fun city! 👌🏼 oh my gosh OF COURSE Edinburgh is in the 1,000 places!!! We are dying to go & explore! So yes, we would love all the recommendations!! Haha thanks so much for watching & for your kind comment! 🥹🥰💗
Impressive! Three pastel de natas each. I've eaten my way through Lisbon, and sampling the slightly different pastel de natas. Three each - amazing! 🙂
Hahaha gosh they were amazing!!! We only get to eat however many we want on trips when at home we intermittent fast, run & go to the gym! 🤣🙄 definitely not as fun or delicious as eating on vacation! Haha
Im new to your channel. Im still watching but had to comment…you guys are hilarious. Love your humour and kindness. Love the tips too. Im taking notes as the video goes on…..well done guys….now….excuse me while i go through ALL your Portugal videos. Thank you from canada
Omg I couldn’t stop laughing!
Your arm hairs were touching with the dude next to you at the table. You lost me there haha. I would have told him “yo keep your hairs in check” hahah and used his soup cause he trespassed with his arm hairs haha
😁😆🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
God job guys! 5 Stars (from a Lisboa guy)😊
Aw, thanks so much! That means a lot coming from a Lisboa guy!😊 We appreciate you watching!
I know matt was NOT happy about the missed dinner res on the last video lol! I’m excited to dive into this one right now!!!!! Thanks for going on these adventures and allowing us to live through your eyes!! 🩵
Loved the bloopers 😂
🤣👌🏼Glad you like them!!! Thanks so much for watching all the way to the end! 👏🏼🥰💗
I was in Lisbon last September and we stayed in Alfama right next to that lift and it wasn’t working while we were there so had to walk up the steps continuously during our stay. The Castle and grounds are lovely… worth it for the view. Would definitely recommend Lisbon it’s a fab city.
Oh gosh that stinks! But I bet you got your steps in! 🤣 When we go back, we will definitely be doing the castle!! Thanks so much for watching & for your comment! 🥰💗
Wonderful vlog ,sign me up!😊❤
Thank you!! 🥰 So glad you enjoyed it!
We are going on the Ncl Prima in 3 weeks and this is going to be one of the ports we are going to.
You have to try Porto, Madeira Island ands Azores Islands, you want regret. There's so much beauty in Portugal, its unreal.
❤❤❤we woo
Ps. The outtakes are hilarious. 😅😅😅😅😅
Love your content!! Would you recommend Portugal or Florence/italy if you had to choose one for a trip?
Lupine Tremoço is a very common appetizer in taverns, to accompany with beer. As well as roasted and other salted peanuts. It is the fruit of the lupine plant, it is not cooked, but it is left in water for several days to sweeten it, since it is initially quite bitter. then it is preserved in salt. Sold in most supermarkets. It's called the seafood of the poor
Oh wow, thanks so much for sharing all that info! We found it delicious especially with the local beer! 👌🏼💗 Thanks for watching!
This was very helpful for planning our upcoming trip to Lisbon. Nat, I love your coral color dress. Who makes it?
Subscribed! 😊❤❤❤
Yay! Thank you! 🥰
You’re welcome ☺️
3:58 one correction! CHÁ is the real name of the drink , TEA is the name of the Portuguese boats that send chá to England (and later to all the world), TEA means TRANSPORTE de ERVAS AROMÁTICAS or in English Transport of Aromatic Herbs, yes we are the responsible for the British start drinking it!
Lupini beans. Really good for you.
Nat got some white sneakers!
Going to be there in a week...and it looks and will probably feel like I haven't Left SF bay area. But looking forward to it.
We hope you have so much fun! Safe travels! Thanks for watching!😊
Odd question, but in terms of cleanliness what would you rate Listen 😁.
Beautifully edited video btw. Some lovely shots.
I have been there once Lisbon
Enjoyed sea food
Then again while I was living Toronto I go to Portuguese community areas
to eat sea food
Beautiful video, great insights, but did not quite get where does the lift of Santa Justa lead to .
It takes you up the hill to Calçada do Sacramento (Sacramento Road) and the Carmo Convent. Essentially, it just saves you the walk up the hill since Lisbon is a very hilly city. Thanks for watching!😊
Nice video! Does anyone knows for a 2 days weekend trip, what should I get for the transportation ticket? 2x day pass? And where to buy if I’m coming from Lisbon airport?
I’m waiting for the Ireland vlog!
Haha it’s gonna be in a month! Lol we’ve some other videos before then! But it’s coming I promise! Lol 😂
You’re from Nashville, so have to ask, did you ever go to the House of Cards in Nashville ? Awesome magicians and restaurant. I must admit, my son is one of the regular professional magicians working there. 😊 Great video, will check out your other videos and blog. 👍🏼
You guys crack me up🤣
🤣 love that we have the same humor! 🥰 Thanks for watching!
Between the 2 places for egg tart, which one you prefer?
Excelente ver os bárbaros a descobrir a civilização
👍🏼
You should go to the azores islands . great video.
Yes!!!! It’s on our list! It looks beyond amazing!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Its called Casa Da India due to the long presence of Portugal in India since the 16th century where we even had colinies there, the best known being Goa.
Yeah we went to Lisbon May 2022 and we absolutely loved the experience. And I guess it's a lot cheaper to travel there than in the US. Haha
💗
Canadians call those lupini beans. I loved them when we were in Portugal.
Oh really?!? They are so good! 👏🏼👌🏼
Lisbon has an important history, it is the capital of Portugal, and it is beautiful,it has 500,000 people. So many celebrities like Madonna have lived in Lisbon.
Great Vlog!!! We loved it. I have a few questions
1. What airlines did you fly to get to Lisbon?
2. How do you handle currency meaning how do you get euros or local $’s there?
Hi Susan! Thanks so much for watching! We flew TAP Air from New York (JFK) to Lisbon. For currency, we always get $50-100 worth of local currency from our bank before we leave the US. That cash is mostly used for tips then we use our travel credit card (Chase Sapphire Reserve) for all other purchases.
Hope that helps and answers your questions!😊
@@AdventuresofMattandNat thanks for the info!! Yes it helps so much!! How was TAP we are looking at using that to fly to Barcelona. We are taking a 9 day med cruise on NCL (not MSC LOL). Have been watching you videos and sending them to our group of travelers!! Are you doing a Rome review?
You packed a lot for 1 day !
That’s what we try to do… see, eat & do as much as we possibly can! 🤣🤷🏼♀️ haha We’re crazy! Haha
@@AdventuresofMattandNat I like your energy, so I subscribed. BTW: I am going to Lisbon in just around 2 weeks (13th April) and I will spend there 5 nights. That will include a trip to Sintra and Cascais.
man alive I know the streets are narrow but if I was on a tram or the person walking I would see my life flash before my eyes
🤣🤣
You two are nice 👍🏾
When is best time to go there?
Aw, thank you so much! We visited in April and LOVED it! Thanks for watching! 😊
Are u visiting ant cities or places in The UK soon
Right now, the only place in the UK that we have filmed so far is Northern Ireland and those videos will be out later this fall! We don’t have any others planned yet, but I’m sure that will change! Thanks for watching!😊
the boiled peanuts looks like M&Ms
