      I don’t know, you can’t deny how disciplined he is. Yes “everybody” can do it but you can say that about anything. He just complimented him, relax.

      @mr burg yikes dude relax, god forbid someone wanted to compliment Nick on his commitment and dedication to training. At the end of the day, yes anyone is capable of doing not everyone does, because not everyone has the same motivation and mindset to push themselves.

      @mr burg being able to exercise vs being extremely disciplined in every aspect fo your training to be the best you can be are two different things. It takes a lot of discipline and will power to do what Nick has done for as long as he has. I'm not making him out to be a God but yes anyone can exercise but anyone can't do what iron man people and Nick Bare can do.

    Whelp, I’ve got two weeks of training left before my first marathon. Nick your videos, training courses, and products have definitely helped get me from 250 lbs 6 months ago to 190 lbs, and marathon ready today! Keep up the hard work and embrace that suck!

      Dam I lost the same exact amount and I don’t think I’m no where near ready for a marathon! Good luck to you 👏🏻 most I can run is 4 miles 36 minutes 6 miles an hour

      @@jakeflores8601 yeah, I've been running two a day's for the last 5 months (1 hour in the gym in the morning, 1-1/2 to 2 hours of running in the evening) to get where I am at. the Marathon is on the 21st of this month, I'm pretty nervous, but we will see how it goes.

    I had the honor of lending Coach Natasha my spare goggles at the gym pool once (pre covid of course). I'm glad you got a local coach since Austin is such a triathlete friendly city. I've been following her on insta longer than I've been watching your videos so it's cool to see y'all link up.

      @@dead_gawk it’s a measurement of power one can hold for an hour. in this case an hour on the bike. on a stationary, my ftp is no more than 175w. the fact pro’s do 300+ ftp at such a low body weight is an incredibly efficient use of the legs

    Glad you did an FTP test, I train power zone training on the peloton almost exclusively! That type of training always feels so good.

      Cassidy ... Get on to it, it will change the way you hydrate. I had it done before my first full Ironman and found that I required double the amount of sodium from what I was consuming during my half ironman races. It definitely changed the way I thought about hydration.

      There are two tests you want to do. A sweat test (the rate you sweat) and a salt test (how much sodium you lose when you sweat) and then work with both of those. I had this same test done back in March but my results were onsite which was really cool. I found I was a very salty sweater, so I consume a lot more BASE salt during training and racing.

    Thanks for doing this video! I can relate our numbers, like ftp, sweat rate, aerobic speed and weight are very similar. I'm prepping for ironman Florida next year. How tall are you? Good luck with your training!

    Those mistakes, bike fit, running form, easy miles, are all things that have been mentioned on insta and on here by knowledgeable subscribers and have been kinda ignored. At least they’re finally going to be sorted and there will be a huge leap in progress.

    Where did you get the sweat test??? I’m in the marines and I cramp on my hikes around 10 mile mark I really need this test!!

    Hey @NickBare! Really like how you’re stepping up this prep whit a base in sport science. But, why aren’t you using a lactate meter? Or a metabolic cart? And I think the Stryd foot pod would be really beneficial for your running analysis. Yes sure estimating aerobic threshold via a formula is a good enough, fast, easy and cost effective way but since you’re doing a electrolyte analysis wouldn’t a CP, MLSS and VO2max test be a good idea?
