That dark place! I love when people tell me "you ran how long!" It just reminds me not everyone can push through. Love your videos.
My wife trained for the 70.3 Galveston Ironman last year. She trained for over a year. first ever Ironman and when she was done, I couldn't be more proud of her. she did amazing and she is 48. I was there to support and just seeing it all in person was inspiring and she is 48 years old.
keep it up! You will do great!
how old was she ?
@@themeloche she is 48 years old. she did it this pass April.
Was she 48?
But how old was your wife?
Graphics_Dev he didn’t say
I love your attitude man and am glad you're seeing why people do this sport. I had been doing a bunch of sprint and Olympic distance tri's and was training for a half Ironman when I got a deployment tasking which halted that plan.
Since 2016 I've deployed, PCS'd 3 times, and have been in non-stop training for a new career, all of which caused me to put triathlons on the back burner: your videos have encouraged me to make the time to get back into it. Embrace the Suck brother!!
"I love the feeling of being so physically and mentally challenged" 12:12
LOL
Lmao. Good catch
dont get it
I don’t usually get motivated by external factors. I can only be motivated from within. However, you have definitely motivated the hell out of me. I just bought a used road bike for $40 and have begun my training. I eventually want to do a triathlon, but I’m more excited about the journey getting there. Thank you, Nick
I’m obese at the moment, but started to workout and got a diet plan from a nutritionist. I see your videos and want to run immediately. In fact, I ran yesterday, but my trainer says I should wait a little until I lose more weight to not hurt my knees. But the mindset is here! I want to get fit again. Decided to wake up early everyday and do something.
Let’s go!
I did IM Florida 2013 and it was one of the best experiences of my life. You will love it. Great community. Make sure you rest and don’t break your body down too far. Rest well. You don’t win it on the swim, ride hard and hang on for the run. Good luck!
This is one of my favourite videos of yours nick. It’s so basic and authentic and relatable to the every day man!
Nick, you should look into running shoe rotation. When you run the foam gets compressed and it takes several hours for the foam to recover. If you have 2 pairs of shoes that you rotate they will last much longer because each pair has time to recover before being used again. It’s definitely worth googling and doing a little research.
Stoked on the new content! You’ve inspired me to do a half Ironman this fall🤙🏻
Daniel Lexow that the foam needs to recover is just a thing brands say to get more money, I’ve seen/read a lot of studys that says its complete bullshit.
Good luck with your half ironman💪👊
@scotiansen out of curiousity, what mileage do you do with your shoes
It's actually a good idea. The foam I'm running shoes does need time to recover and rebound after a run. When you start doing big miles it will definitely help prevent injury
Daniel Lexow it’s an ASICS, there is also gel. It’s not only foam. Gel will last you longer since it doesn’t get squish like a foam would. You still have a good point tho
scotiansen my bio teacher said this is true and she runs marathons. She says that that’s why shoes you always wear get formed to your feet. They get the grooves for your toes and everything because you don’t let the foam recover
Don't normally comment. But just wanted to pop by and say that you're doing a good job with the content. Love how you actually set big goals and document your progress, whereas other fitness CZcamsr just spam their Bali vacations and Full Day Of Eating videos.
Andy Flynn "Here's my 28th Full day of eating video this month, it's gonna be the exact same food I ate in all the other videos but I'm feeling crazy today so I'm going mix in a whole egg with my egg whites and might get a zero calorie zero sugar latte from Starbucks. LIKE COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE" - every other fitness channel
Jaggs9 don’t forget the fake ass morning routines
I went to an iron man here in Florida this past year and just watching it/being there was really cool. The video is gonna be awesome I can already tell
I just started watching, and I’m enjoying your progression from weight lifter to Ironman. Keep up the work and good luck
yo man so inspiring I usually don't comment but for you its so genuine and true so I have to say thank you so much for being such an inspiration for so many people. thank you thank you and thank you!
Excited to watch as your training continues!
Hey Nick and Preston, it was great meeting you guys today. My family really enjoyed the meet and greet. We loved the tour. Thank you for taking the time to show us around. Keep up the great work guys!
Hey Nick, I just want tell you...you’re such an inspiration, like really!! Your videos and Ig posts/Storys really inspire me. Thank you I am motivated to do things! I am so nervous since a couple of days because I am to play my first tennis tournament and I am bad at the serve and that makes me really nervous even if I’m in holidays....but now I just watched your video and you inspired and motivated me so much again!!! And i just wanted to say; THANK YOU!! Would love to meet you one day
That is very useful to know, thanks for sharing dude. All the best on your race!
My day consists of watching hours of your videos, always keeping it real! Love the bare brothers
you're working so hard Nick, i wish you the best in the ironman race, you deserve it
Inspired me to sign up for my first 5k run. Thanks Nick
Nick you really do love that Blink 182 Remix! Always reassures me it's a Bare vlog!
Yo those last min of real talk gave me such a motivation booster
What a fascinating journey keeping up with your videos from Korea to where you are now. Keep at it brother, you exemplify what it is to be an American.
I just did my first ironman a few weeks ago and I switched to Zoggs goggles for the swim. I LOVED them! They are polarized so you can see into the sun when sighting and breathing. I think you would like them.
Hey Nick! I look forward to seeing you there, I'm going to be doing that for my first full ironman too!
Great job Nick! it's gonna be so worth it when you cross the finish line! No feeling like it!
I don't know about anyone else but Nick, I appreciate your sweet edits and transitions!!!!!
I really appreciate the breakdown. I am planning on doing it next November.
I feel your pain Nick!! I'm doing my first 70.3 in September. I implore you for going after this big goal and its cool to see you vlog your along the way. Don't forget the expense of your training program either! lol
Oh wow! Those protein bars look like Marc's Outright Bars which are absolutely delicious. The texture and all-natural approach is changing the game. I'm really excited to try these!
Needed the talk at the end. Thank you
props for being so transparent about the total $ in so far! I've thought about doing something similar but this video is a real eye opener for me, the required $ is probably a bit steep even if you shopped deals.
You are a big motivation to me, thank you! /love from Sweden
Bounce around different fitness youtubers - always come back! Inspired that you are challenging outside of your normal training/ comfort zone!
crazy your transformation so far. look like a new person!
good stuff, man keep it up, you're going to crush that iron man
Nick, check out Tifosi glasses for the bike and run. Great glasses with interchangeable lenses, and they are made for biking. Keep kicking ass and taking names, Brother! RLTW!
Great video, really enjoyed it. Keep going 🤘💪
Have you started open water swimming yet? Im just getting into triathlon and have done 3 OW swims and its so different to pool! Love you videos and the journey your on. Keep smashing it!
Cable pullover - probably the best thing to help your swimming in that lift
I am training for my first Ironman. The Waco 70.3 in October. Already spent over $2,000 and still need to buy my bike and wetsuit. Sky’s the limit when it comes to spending money on this sport. But I love it. Great videos.
With that investment.. I think Nick should do Ironman yearly. Cus videos like this is amazing to watch how the human limits can be pushed & the amount of positivity in it.
I don't think it's that healthy man. However prepared you are
Cem Gunduz being the top of your game in business or in fitness isn’t healthy mate. But he’s always gonna do mad challenges like this, not even for content it’s just who he is.
@Gab L tbh I don't really see the point, he's not going to be getting any above average times, more of just an ego thing
I think it would be too expensive and I mean he has a lot of other stuff to do and I don’t think he has the time to train enough every year because normally you want to break the record of last year so he has to train even harder and put more work and time in it
God is good good
I love watching your videos, can we see a crit race next season after your ironman?
You’re an amazing inspiration
4:55 - $4.245,- on gear + entry fee
Insane! Then needs two more suits lol
You motivate me to compete in another Tri. Signed up for one that was last weekend in SoCal, got to the transition area, chickened out, walked the bike back to the car. I knew I’d regret it. I need to watch more videos of people training for these events
Thanks for the content! How much was the coach and the cost of the other stuff you could/would have been doing?
That mental dark place happens to me when I’m half way up the stairs going to my bedroom
Finally someone doing a cable pullover (what I call them) right by dropping the lats and retracted the shoulders, first time I’ve seen a CZcamsr do it
You're cool....
Wow! Your insight is beyond our comprehension. You should make a fitness channel specifically for the enlightened ones like yourself.
You want wheels , get deep dish wheels . Like 60-80mm from zipp. Dura ace , Mavic , or Vision . They’ll bring up your speed by a lot . Also if you don’t mind spending extra money you should get electronic shifting to clean up the shifting and breaking cables and save some time and watts on aerodynamics
Plus coaching plan. Also if you make bike or tri gear jerseys available you will sell a bunch!
Inspiration as usual💣💣💣
See ya in Panama City brother, I’ve been training for 4 months already... this is a huge personal challenge for me
Carlos Mitchell how did you do?

Great Videos! I with you all the best. Greetings from Germany.
But can it be written off as a business expense if you say it's marketing since you'll have BPN on everything 🤔🤔
Dont think I have ever been this early for any video but excited to see you embrace the suck!
I've been in that dark place a few times in my life and I definitely didn't like it. But your right, it does make you a better person in the long run.
Just a tip for the 735xt you can download data fields that show you pace, average pace, heart rate, average heart rate and cadence on one screen. I have used it for ages now, you need to install connect IQ then it is called 'DozenRun'.
I find it better than the default Garmin data screen as it is colour coded and you can see more information at a glance once you are used to it
The Roka Maverick Comp 2 sleeveless is an amazing wetsuit, especially for guys with bigger shoulders. Plus with Team Trainiac it’s only like $160!
Good job, keep going!!!
All that money will be recouped on the promo. Time to get a BPN jersey
I totally agree with you on going to the dark place and beating it!! That's my therapy!!! If your ever looking to grow your team, let me know. I'd would love to assist you in your movement.
A quick one - do you do you heavy squats / deadlift while preparing for Ironman? I'm going to do the marathon in three months and I wonder if it's smart to do low-rep / high-volume squat on my FBW days. Thanks buddy, good luck with Ironman!
David Goggins x Nick Bare collab needs to happen
pirzadaomar maybe throw in some Jocko and see what happens 🤣
@@davidsimms9372 get after it
The Oakley ESS combat glasses, I retired 5 years ago, and these are still my daily wear even when running. Surprised you don’t even use them anymore
You gotta love Nick. 👍
I understand what u r saying about cost. I was well over 20k from start to finish after all costs
Have you thought about possibly making your custom designed BPN Tri Kit available to the public? I’d love to rep BPN on a tri suit!
Don’t forget those salt tablets 👍
The day of will be soul changing ...
Good luck my friend
You the best Nick ! Keep up the great effort you put into ironman preparation ! EMBRACE THE SUCK !
That shave reminds me of the Korea days!
You need more micro nutrients, chia seeds, and carbs from fruit. A fruit smoothie with frozen organic strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries.... Fresh banana, a beat, 2 tbsp of chia seeds soaked in whole milk, 1 tbsp royal jelly, Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp flaxseed oil, 1 squeezed lemon, powder greens, Protein powder and 1 carrot or juiced carrots.
It will make you feel awesome after a hard day of working out. It is a great fruit smoothie.
Love the video good motivation but i have question since ur do the ironman for ur mom are u going to have a memento to wear for like wear her initals on ur suit or a rubber bracelet with her name ?
YOOOOOO I'm in Panama City!!! Gonna try my best to come out and support!!!
You get me so well..im in week 9/24 for the IM on 12/1 ...and the cost & the dead physical feeling, the quitting, the pushing...etc etc, i can relate sooo well 🙈
I feel like you should do a video on the cheapest way to do ironman. like take a straight beater and do it.
Okay, I’d be down for a BPN trisuit!
Nick this stuff is amazing. After I get down to a healthy weight my goal is to run a marathon and go from there
so much respect
Brand New in the background? You have a new subscriber my friend
Nick with Ironman training are you doing long stretch sessions too ,I find after long runs if I don’t stretch I’m stiff as a board day after ,and are you having regular massages
How long until we get macros and packaging for the protein bars?
Welcome to triathlon. Don't forget N+1 look it up. Lol. The best way is to accumulate over time. I have to limit myself to only spending 200 per month on gear. No matter how much equipment I have, I can always find something new. Keep up the good work.
If you are only doing one sanctioned triathlon of any distance you can purchase a one day license from USATriathlon.
Go to Fins Food Truck on Thomas Drive while you're there (in PC). It'll be a legit reward. Good lucky, great vid.
i love those dark places too. that’s where you grow
Luke Sirianni We all know it’s you Goggins. Can’t hide behind fake accounts forever.
Love your videos and podcast Nick! A bit of advice from an avid cyclist: buy more chamois and/ or wash the one you have after every use. All of that sweat and hours of friction is a recipe for saddle sores. There will be ZERO training if you get an infected hair folicle down there and it becomes a saddle sore.
Also use chamois cream, and apply it liberally on both the chamois (the padding inside the tights) and the parts of your anatomy that are susceptible to chafing. After several years and over 8k miles of cycling I've never had an issue with chafing or saddle sores.
Just wondering, what pace are you setting for these super long runs?
Beast mode activated 💪🏼
Those last words 👌🏻
Reckon you should strongly consider getting a better pair of Asics shoes. They are very much an entry level shoe for someone doing minimal miles per week. At least upgrade to the Nimbus.
See you in Panama City!
What store/website did you pick up those biking shorts?
Watching this makes me feel like a ratchet ass poor triathlete 😂😂 but I do have more than one pair of cycling shorts..... ❤️ ur videos!
Hey Nick, you didn’t say how much your programming was for the Ironman.
Just signed up for my 5th Full & 6th Half lol - Maybe some day I'll add up the ridiculous cost but for now I'll take it as worth it! A year round fee to conquer an insane goal!
BTW - loving the dedication! Judging by your plan your doing more of an advanced plan so you'll be ready!! Kona Bound!!!
That’s not bad. I have over $10k in my Trek Domane SLR dura Ace di2. 🚴🏻
The same thing happens to me. I only train for 5K though. Just by looking on what is on the program for the next day .... I feel fear and discomfort, as you mention
Sure do look a lot like the mts outright bar lol
Did you come out with your own training plan ? Or did someone help you build it?
