Some of them shouldn't even be allowed to walk down the sidewalk without supervision
Most of the experienced professional drivers are retiring and being replaced with moronic "steering wheel holders" that can barely wipe their own butt.
Definitely, they are always driving faster than their ability to stop. The trailers need an additional stopping pad that drops down when the air brake cam reaches a certain point.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re picturing in your mind when you say “additional stopping pad that drops down…”, but… I would simply say that what drivers need is to drive like they have some sense.
I’ve been driving trucks since 1989, and not once have I ever driven into the back of anyone, nor lost control as a result of avoiding it. And I’m not “special”… if I can manage it, so can anyone else.
Dont worry, it isnt just truckers having a competency crisis.
The same bad corporate decision making is being made at the tops of airlines too.
Competent workers arent cheap, and cheap workers arent competent. But you must always show "red line go up" for the shareholders, by law, and the easiest way to do that is cut costs. That works until it doesnt anymore.

You have to be “proactive” with regard to what’s ahead of you, and that driver clearly was NOT.
If your rear view mirror is full of truck, it’s positively the worst time to slam your brakes for no good reason.

I have been driving a tractor trailer for the last 14 years of my life and never once have I come across what happened in the second video, but it's definitely one of my biggest fears. The idea of harming anyone else on the road gives me nightmares sometimes.
I've put up with a lot shit in my rig, but seeing a crash with two fatalities takes the cake. Didn't have any accidents in the road. In his dying breath, the young man in the back said his name was Josh as he exhaled for the last time.

Because sensitive people seeing people/animals getting hit report the video, resulting in the channel getting a strike or being demonetized. You'd think by now they'd implement a flag these people could just set in their CZcams settings, which would skip 1 sec whenever the video creator tags such an event. So the rest of us can watch according to our standards, instead of being forced to watch according to theirs. But it seems YT would rather put all their effort into displaying ads, instead of implementing useful features.

The doctors still can't even figure out what's wrong, but he does have some tests and an appointment at the end of May!!
having a vehicle suddenly swerve into me is mine. dad worked with a young (new) driver years ago, 6 month in had a 16 year old girl commit suicide by driving into him head on. young guy never did get back behind the wheel. found a new profession

You do know that the price of fuels is related to the oil futures and the profits the oil companies want to make, right? And when gas goes up by a dollar, the taxes on it only go up about 2 cents? Economics...check it out every now and then...

They will give a license to anyone. I had a truck driving school that used to come in my store and once told me about how bad of a driver was but he said as long as they pay we have to pass them.
That's a bad school then. That is absolutely not true. When I went through school, one person was there an extra two or three weeks by the time I got there and just wasn't getting it. They tried and tried, but couldn't pass him.
Their are a lot of people who drive passenger cars all over America who do really dumb things as if they have rocks for brains. The other side, owner operators need to respect the speed limit and other truck drivers on the road. In an instant you can loose your life or your truck. If you have no patience as a truck driver please don't get behind the wheel.

Most of semi truck drivers just don't maintain appropriate distance...like they all are going to get sooner to their destinations if they stay closer to the vehicle in front. Just plain stupid.
To be clear, I personally think that tailgating is stupid.
That said, I think the majority of people who do it, do it because they just don’t want to let anyone else get in front of them 🫤
