I did the Sat Wed Tue Sun red herring knowing that it was a red herring and I have no regrets!

I didn't fall for the red herring, but I also didn't see "flower." I was thinking something to do with "west." In retrospect, the spelling of "May" would have been "Mae."

Would 'tue' work as a homophone? It's not a word on it's own, only an abbreviation for Tuesday (or an archaic word for a bird, per Wikipedia).

Yeah, seemed like a cheap way to force the red herring to work.

@@marimbaguy715 and it's not a homophone in the UK where we say t-yew or chew,

Yeah my family called that out. Nevertheless it was still a simple puzzle.

@@auldfouter8661Bri'ish pronunciations are the wiggiest, innit? I saw a tiktak that mocked, "Counting in British:
      Wan
      Chew
      Free
      Fow"

Yep saw the red herring and took it. Someone pointed out that Tue really doesn’t stand alone on its own so tricky little piece there.

I saw the trap and glad I didn’t fall for it.

Tue is not pronounced the same as ‘to’ in British English.

I thought at first that the homophones were the red herring, so I went with the Days of the Week category first. Turns out my first intuition was wrong! 😂 clever puzzle.
