Did you take a sample of fuel to check for contaminants and do a visual check of the fuel level just in case the gauges are playing up ? Also it is a good idea to have the canopy/window open when you yell out CLEAR PROP so that people nearby can actually hear you. Finally even if you have memorised a checklist inside out and back to front it is a good idea to use a written checklist just in case, as we are human and we all suffer from memory lapse occasionally. Thankyou, happy flying.
THANK YOU PRANAS!! This is the same type machine I will be training with in the UK... The legroom for a tall man is phenomenal! - Good stuff!
Thank you Pranas for another very interesting and well made video! You really help an aviation enthusiast like me appreciate the science, technology, human aspects, and beauty of flying.
I really enjoyed the video, it explains the pre flight inspection really well, easily and quickly :)
Thank you!
Excellent video as always Pranas.
Never saw him drain the sumps for water in the fuel. Did I miss that part or did he?
great!
Thanks man :)
Nice , looks like retty decent plane , would love to fly it
Pranas is the best !
Thanks!
Try to turn off the batt after checking the lights and pitot heat or you could have a flat batt if every student is leaving it on during every preflight check.
(from working at a maintenace hangar for similar aircraft, a Grob C200) we only had to inform ATC of any movement, such as ground testing. the starting of an engine, within the engineering area did not need ATC clearance
caution before starting any engine canopy must be firm and not lock because how you do the day or the engine will fire on the learning and training s is only when we make the point checklist to stop and before takeoff that we locks the canopy. good flight with caution.
On VFR flights we would normally do so, yes :)
Thanks, for a great vid, man) I just realized that i really miss P2002)
One question for you: don't you check if fuel tank drain tubes are clear? You know what can happen if there's low pressure in the tank
Thats a good Airplain, i like it 😊
I would absolutely love to have a personal plane like this one.
Isnt needed to ask the ATC for start-up clearence?
Should you start the engine without atc clearance?
Thanks. :)
nice
Clear Prop!!! :DDDd
Piston engines typically have an engine driven fuel pump that becomes effective after engine start
I'd add to check visually the fuel level... displays might fail, eyes can't - same on the hinges of tail and rudder.
Also you didn't check the front spring stiffness/service... I see many missing checks
for an ATPL studen
not very soon, he only started 1 year ago and he's aiming for the best!
Clear Prrrrrop!
Why did he turn off the fuel pump after the engine had fired?
Nice video but let me say that fuel quantity must be verified also looking inside the tanks, not only with televels. Quality of fuel should also be checked collecting some via gascolator.
generally great, you just didn't check the coolant oliquid
when checking the oil arent you supposed to pull the dipstick out, wipe it, then put it back in before checking?
pranas, when will you graduate from BAA? =D
Next year :)
the main reason why you need to shout that is to make sure that no one gets hurt in the few seconds that the prop starts to run
Wouldn't you open the canopy to call "clear prop"? It seems you would have to yell loudly for someone to hear you with the canopy closed.
Big aircraft, yes. But smaller, no. PA28's usually only have strobes, even bigger ones, like Cessna Citation's (maybe not all, but some do), ATR's (I see those flying for FedEx in CDG) and so....
The canopy isn't a very good sound isolator, so you don't really need to shout very loud in order for others to hear it :)
I'm sure this guy is a very good pilot now
for VFR GA traffic - nope!
Beacon light = strobe lights, on some aircraft
why do u need to shout or say clear proppp
He didn't checked right tank...and measurement points on the chassis... Everything else OK.
do you really need to turn the prop tocheck the oil? dangerous! bad set up if it is
Yes. Rotax is a dry sump so that is required.
It's not dangerous if you didn't leave the keys on ignition.
@@wealgonknight many people have lost arms and legs or lives because the mags have grounded them selfs
@@elmin2323 1) the Rotax does not have traditional magnetos, it has electronic ignition modules not directly engine driven like a magneto. 2) since it is a dry sump, burping the engine is the only way to get a valid oil level
Coolant is too low, you didn't even check
I want you to put the worlds on your comments that you said on your video. Can you?
Do you want me to Unlike your video? I think if you put the words that you said on your video is great. Like Lyrics :D
