I just received my shrimp from you yesterday! Shipped Monday received Thursday. I thought they were packed well. I indeed stashed the poly fill for future filter use lol thank you for the beautiful shrimp. They are doing great. Thanks for the food samples and the sticker as well. The guppy grass and duckweed was welcome in my tank! I had no idea what to expect when ordering but I’m a very happy customer! Well done.

Glad to hear they are doing well! They were pulled from my stock that spent all summer in a pond! Some of those females look REALLY good! And yes, I figure why create more waste! I believe @Guppy Guru told me about the polyfil and I liked it. And of course! :)

Thanks for sharing your shipping process. Noticed the duck weed in the bag though. Might consider straining that out. I know I wouldn't want duck weed in my tank.

Received the cherries this morning... Thanks! They are all alive and well in a very established planted tank. It also appears that there was some duck weed and a sprig of guppy grass in the bag with a block of foam for the shrimp to cling to. I' assuming the packaging around the bag was the filter floss you use?

Yes! All that white fluffy stuff is great for polishing water.

One topic you might look into..keeping subtropical fish outdoors all year in the bay area. Hard core types might even warm the waters to say low 60's..warm enough for many Danios, barbs and oddball fish like the high fin loach.
I used to summer pond fish in 10' and 12' above ground pools. Amazing how much better they grew and the colors were intense. Never did go for all year...April- November with a clear plastic cover to help heat.

These are USPS requirements on their website for shipping tropical and gold fish. I think you need to bag the entire thing up again (bag up polyfil and fishbags in one big bag). this is what I do to ensure no problems... I just dont see many people following their rules?
    Copied/pastied/noted from USPS website
Fish must be held in a securely sealed primary receptacle. (fish breather bag)
Primary receptacle must be cushioned with sufficient absorbent material to take up all liquid in case of leakage. (polyfill)
Primary receptacle and absorbent cushioning material must be sealed within waterproof outer packaging (MISSING BAG)

Thank you so much for this video. One question, do you declare that you ship fish? I went to USPS the other day and they said I had to ship them overnight. Horrendous costs. Me too, I live in S CA.

I'm still waiting for 1000 Dollars worth of fish that my gf ordered from eBay from a guy in Wisconsin shipping them here to Pennsylvania so much for overnight shipping, USPS, it's now day 8 and the tracking is now showing there arriving Saturday! 10 days in the mail I'm guessing that I'm going to be receiving dead really expensive fish .

This was very helpful would be great if you could list places to get breather bags and other packaging. I am not a pro on finding these things. I am wanting to ship a fish to my friend in New York and have no clue what I am doing lol. But thank you for showing the process. I know some people fast the fish to ship. I dont know if everyone does that or if should. Thank you for the video again. Very helpful tips

Thank you! Fasting the fish never hurt, especially if it's a longer trip.
I have a list with all the links in the description of the video. As far as reflectix, you can google it to see where it is for you. For me, I buy it at Home Depot and lowes. Most home stores like that will have it. Sometimes Walmart will carry it. Polyfil is available at Craft stores, sewing stores, Walmart (its in the sewing section), etc. You want to make sure you get the one with no additives. www.walmart.com/ip/Poly-Fil-Premium-Polyester-Fiberfill-50-Oz-Bag/17808670
