Also Photomath (as a calc app) is really awesome I feel like. You scan the calculation, it gives you the answer, displays the steps to get there, displays a graph if needed etc. Super handy for students
True iPad Pro would have 2 usb-c ports and would run macOS when docked to the keyboard!

My guest it’s something with 3d stuff. Note that the things that they release now are things that were in ideation stage while working hard on the Vision Pro.
So that combined with that 3d effect of the ink in the logo, I say it’s some big merge of the pencil input with the 3d environment.
A good idea for the calculator app on ipad could be integrated within the keyboard, like the change language button they can add a calculator button for you to do calculations wherever you’re in, except when you hit enter it’s equal and does not send the query anywhere

The iPad problem isn’t about hardware… we barely use the power of the current M2. The problem comes from the software limitations. We need an UnifiedOS, some kind of new MacOS version that would have 2 different UI, so we could get the current iPadOS UI style when you’re using the iPad alone, and then as soon as you’re grabbing a precision pointer such the new Pencil, or a Mouse/Trackpad, then you would have the option to switch to a full MacOS UI style, running full MacOS Apps… it wouldn’t be two different OS running in parallel, but instead one MacOS that would have two UI mode, the current MacOS mode when you have precise pointers, and then a simplified UI that would look like the current iPadOS when you’re using your fingers… That would unlock the full potential of a M3/M4 iPad Pro… running full MacOS apps, and therefore driving the need for more powerful hardware in the future (M5, M6, M7…) and turning your iPad Pro into a real MacBook.

Biggest request i have is that you can run all desktop class apps and games on the ipad.
Handwritten Math Formula and calculation Conversion and calculation. Also it should automatically detect hand-drawn graph sketches and make them exact. But also at that point it could be integrated into numbers.
Any rumors about Final Cut for iPad Pro using external drives? Maybe I’m naïve. (Likely) but I feel not being able to edit off of an SSD kills the use of the software for most people unless they want to pay for oodles iCloud storage.
Hype for an M3 OLED 13” iPad Pro, never had an iPad before but they seem excellent for content consumption & it’d make a great portable screen for a PS5 when traveling w/ the PS Remote Play app.
TBH a calculator and basic spreadsheet feature in notes would be awesome

Current iPad Pro Magic Keyboard does have usb-c but the thing takes forever to charge that way and as I remember it takes forever and is either charge only or the connector doesn’t support data transfer
it does support data transfer. I used it a couple times to transfer data from my go pro
All I ask of for Apple to add brackets, numerator/denominator fractions, and an “Ans” button to the calculator.
If the iPad app has these 3 things then I’ll immediately justify the decades long wait
Apple need to make the headphones magsafe with an Apple logo outlined rather than filled in, for style. The ipads need the bezels to be screen so when you're watching content its a larger view.. but also when needed to be picked up for more work, the black bezel comes back and does not interact.

The only calculator I like is _Digits_ It creates an on-screen “tape” so you can double check your operations. You can copy, email, etc.

The PRo of the Ipad it hanging there because it faster but it just do the same thing like the other ipads. Ipad PRo needs a pro layout, pro Apps, pro Screen, bo Front and back camara, more Usb C ports and it cu be could be cool: if you have the cellular version of ipad pro you can if even make phone call..
It need something more unique than just an ipad or an iphone or it will die.

For the iPad calculator to be as big of a deal as Craig made it out to be, it would have to do advanced mathematics flawlessly, maybe even AI assisted where it gives you the calculation path and is able to draw graphs or something like Wolfram Alpha, GeoGebra and so on...
calling it 13” to align with the macbook line. combined with a rumoured aluminium magic keyboard case, maybe making it more ‘macbook’ like in design so they’ll finally bring a macOS option?

A “wow” calculator app for me would be like something I can use the Apple Pencil to write the calculation and where it has camera support to take a picture of the equation for it to solve.

They didn't make it up on the spot about the calculator app i feel like they thought long and hard about it cuz scaling up a calculator app to fit a ipad might take some effort to get it looking exclusive to i pad unless they make a floating window calculator widget i dont see them ever making a dedicated "APP" for a calculator on i pad

It would be awesome if they implemented more MacOS stuff but then the iPad would start to compete with potential macbook customers so I guess they wont do that from a business perspective.
I think they most likely would lean more into the creative aspects of the iPad; apps for design, for animation, garageband updates, more creative note taking (for business meetings), dynamic island, apple vision implementation, better split screen implementation while using it together with a macbook. These are all speculations but stuff that would attract new customers or that make it feel like you need an iPad for people that are already in the eco-system
If they make a calculator they should make it a graphing calculator app like the TI calculators have. Make it able to do advanced calculus
For the iPad's calculator to be impressive, it needs to be able to graph functions and be able to deal with imaginary numbers just like a desmos calculator or ti nspire calculator.

iPads may not have a dedicated Calculator app, but you can calculate by typing in drag down search bar.
