Google "accidently" leaked RCS support 😂😂😂
DONT WORRY THEY ARE STILL GONNA USE A GREEN BUBLE FOR ANDROID
@@Noname12........641 Doesn't matter so long as group chats work. We'll see.
🤣🤣🤣
@@StephenIsnorstill gonna be separated like she has an iPhone and he has an android
@@StephenIsnorgroup chats always worked?
Only kids care about the color of the bubble. Adults care about encryption, high res video and photo. Anything extra is great but not a big deal
I just care about the bubbles cause that bright ass green hurts my eyes so much. It’s just a lot harder to read than the blue
Kids care about the colour in the US. Most kids buy iPhones just because of that apparently. This means Apple not only grows their footprint in the US, but also grows it into the next generations. They make it especially painful to buy something outside apple once you're in their ecosystem so most people will end up eating up whatever they're up to in the future. This is why this whole DOJ case is happening. Reminds me of Stockholm syndrome in a way...
@@KiriKatprobably done on purpose as well knowing Apple 😂
and not having to install another app (which would solve all of those problems but is a hassle)
I don’t use my pixel because what’s the point of high res video when you can’t share it at high res ?
*_If Google can’t keep its secrets, what about our data?_* 🤣💀
No one should care about the green bubble blue bubbles. All that matters is that the videos sent are full quality and the group chats don’t break.
Amen to that
Exactly. I can't stand the videos being compressed
@@commonsenseoverall7627 hopefully Apple actually adapts to rcs and does nothing to mess things up.. it should not matter what phone you have
Sp then it does matter. Because the colors represent the differences you just mentioned
@@changolord93 if Apple adopts RCS and the video quality isn’t effected when sending them it does not matter at all.
"Just buy your mom a NEW iPhone!" 😂 so good
@@rangerkayla8824 I hear you. Apple doesn't even try to hide how much they put profit first. Just ridiculous that they're so scared of losing the green bubbles. Its as if green bubbles are the cornerstone of their company. If your company is that fragile, maybe change some leadership up top and actually innovate again... the headset trash.
@@latingringo89well the vr headset is on its first generation so give it time for them to make it better lol
@gmdtech8008 Apple is trying to pioneer new markets for the profit versus actually giving the customers what they're asking for. The USB Type C story is a prime example of Apple not listening to their customers. No reason any product should not use Type C for charging in 2024.
Summary: this video is nothing related to RCS 😂
in the good lock app, go to the edge lighting+ section. There is an option to prevent swipe down
Tysm
This or just switch to detailed notifications instead of brief
can you explain this to my mom?
I have an A34 and have turned this on a while back. It's sooo much better. Why is it not on by default??
techies not knowing or liking the pop up apps on Andoid phones is the saddest thing to hear. It's such a cool way of multi tasking it's unreal
2:55 unfortunately there is no option from the settings to disable that feature but you can download good lock module called edge lighting+ and turn on "prevents swipe down" option
As long as it sends out high-quality video and images and maybe read/type indicators
Why not also have E2E encryption, reactions, editing/delete messages etc etc as well? The only reason they'll implement the bare minimum is to force people to buy their moms iphones
I hear ya, but I don't want to get my hopes up so I'm expecting the minimum
@@thelastjess oh don't get me wrong, this is Apple we're talking about. I think we both know very well they'll only give the bare minimum of what RCS requires as mandatory. Anything optional is going to be left out and still give the green bubble. I am almost certain that their RCS support is going to be so underwhelming that no one will know anything changed unless they're told about it. Which essentially makes RCS support useless.
The only way around this, is if Google makes it mandatory to have these other features as well, which I doubt they'll be able to implement in time since they likely have already agreed on the supported features with Apple.
Of course it has read / type indicators. It's RCS. Neve tried it?
Encryption is what I want the most. Right now, whenever I need to text someone who's on Android, I just use Signal because it is by far the most secure messaging platform that exists right now (yes, more secure than WhatsApp because Signal encrypts headers and uses sealed sender).
Double tapping that notification bubble makes it pop up in full screen
2:55 and then there are also floating notifications. I think what you enabled was bubbles. You can just disable the floating notifications in settings
I was going to say, it's just a toggle in thr settings. Not even really buried
I just tried that and you can still swipe down on message notifications and it will still bring it up in the windowed view.
@@Braedon323I owned Samsung android phones for nearly 10 years and never had that issue. I had notifications set to detailed over brief and I never got that pop up issue. I also had bubbles turned off and I believe pop up view and picture in picture.
Changing it to detailed will fix all the problems.
I just found this channel and you guys are great! I also am loving the oh so technical terms being used to explain what is happening when swiping down on a notification 😅😂 “when you click it and just pull a little bit and then it stays as a floating thing”
But in all seriousness, you are all great, love the tech banter and the shared appreciation for all technology ♥︎
Just realised that if someone who has used iphones for years decides to use an android like the S24U they'll be thrown with so many new features and configuration settings that they never imagined before it'll actually take them a while to be able to learn and experiment Android. There's so much stuff that have been added over the years it's insane.
Knowing people who recently switched, it takes them like a week to become functional with it and a good few months to figure everything out
I switched to a 24 ultra and the goodlock store is such a stupid idea imo. I just don’t get why these things aren’t baked into to the regular phone settings. There’s like 3 different settings apps I gotta use just to change the resolution on Dex, when ideally it should be on the regular settings app. iPhone is leagues ahead in ease of use.
@@edgarcmtz never used good lock and barely used dex myself but it natively supports up to 1440p? Sounds like just the nature of actually having freedom on your device to me. With Apple you'd simply not have Dex to begin with. Ease of use means less features and it's up to you to do whatever you want, or not. Guess that's another thing some iPhone users don't know about.
samsung phones are just gimmicky and all those features are just a waste of time.. you call it freedom all you want but a smart phone now adays are tools. ease of use means more productivity you can get so much done with the power of an iphone and mac together..
@@BG4life13 they are easy to use. Just don't use all those extra apps and tools from third-parties and you'll have the exact same ease of use as Apple does. You simply have the freedom to do more if you wish, don't be ridiculous 🙄🙄🙄
You can disable swiping on the edge lighting bubles. But if you disable it, nothing happens when you click the pop up either
That’s annoying
@@corvacopia you're so right, but slightly less annoying than having a floating window that is hard to get rid of
13:00 Correction, Apple has always had green bubbles for SMS since the very first iPhone. Wasn't until iOS 5 when iMessage was introduced and Apple gave it the blue bubbles so it was quick for users to differentiate between both
So Google is like those leaker CZcamsrs on unannounced tech - 😮😮😄
"What Samsung phone do you have?".....😂😂😂😂
“Pshhhhh hahahahah XD!” My man
I didn’t get it..sorry.. which phone does he use?
Na, the Titanium Blue with the black rails is so nice. My only gripe is I wish it has slightly more blue hue to it.
I was surprised to like the flat display BUT I think that back should be curved. I held my old s23 and the way the back class curves makes it so much more satisfying to hold.
I agree! Had the S23 that I enjoyed so much before switching to the Pixel 8. Didn't really liked the 8 that much, so I managed to get the S24. I am enjoying the newer model, but I miss the curved edges on the S23. Felt like it was much easier to hold.
Why can't I access the video settings?
You can disable pop for individual apps. Just long press a notification from that app and go to settings.
The bubble thing is in the notification settings. Just pick between the 3 options. It's so simple. Go to settings and type in the search notification pop up style
Actually you can prevent pull down notification bubble into pop on window mode by setting in goodlock
@WaveformClips
3:27 Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Floating notifications > Off
I also like to turn on detailed notifications at Settings > Notifications > Notification pop-up style > Detailed
I have it turned off and it still does it
Do you have a channel with podcasts clips that are 5 minutes or less?
I am quite sure they are gonna make everything that’s not iMessage green but I had a fun idea for what color RCS could be. My idea was the orange they use for airplane mode. I think it kinda makes sense because the orange usually comes along with the green and blue colors and I made a quick edit a few years ago and it looked quite nice.
IMO RCS should be green and SMS should change to red to signify that you shouldn't be using it
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv red> green.... so Red should be for RCS
4:23 I'm so glad someone else has this problem too.... i thought it was only me and it drives me nuts
About the notification pop up… why are you not using the Default Android Pop Up…? I always had issues with them either because they are too small (can’t read anything passed the max limit allowed) and like the issue you’re having. Go into the settings and change the pop up to be like a regular android phone and you get a bigger and in my opinion nicer looking pop up or “notification” that also has buttons/reply option and you won’t get that annoying swipe down issue anymore
I think that there should still be a distinction between RCS and iMessage and SMS/MMS, and there should be a better distinction between MMS and SMS (and more control over what is being used.)
RCS is just a protocol like SMS supported by the Messages app. Only a message sent via the iMessage service will have blue bubbles, and everything else will be green bubbles. It's possible that a different color like purple could be used to differentiate between RCS and SMS. What this will give you is encrypted messaging with high-res photos and videos, and typing and read flags. However, there are a lot of features specific to the Messages app and iMessage service, like message apps, reactions, stickers, etc.
Reactions and stickers aren't exclusive to the iMessage protocol, they're just features that Apple is *choosing* not to support *within iMessage*. RCS and third party messaging services like Signal, WhatsApp etc all happily run these features
@@bosstowndynamics5488 They're not exclusive, but implementations vary. It's very possible that there'd be a rudimentary implementation where you can send a sticker, but it probably won't work in a way where you can layer stickers, which is a very app specific implementation. There could be a ton of work arounds, but at the end of the day, because you're working across protocols and platforms, you're not going to get 100% parity.
lol there is nothing specific to IMessage about reactions.
Ah, I guess you understand the protocol and exactly how it’s implemented. Good for you in knowing the closed source implementation.
What about pink bubble?
Correction. RCS on iPhone will not have E2EE right away. While Google's RCS does have it, their version is basically a fork of RCS they added a proprietary E2EE on to. Apple does not want to use Google's proprietary encryption, so Apple is working with the GSMA to create an open standard.
Which is what Google should have done while using their proprietary service to bridge the gap
What am I missing why do people like Samsung phones. I actually think there are more crazy people chanting for Samsung than any other brand. Samsung are the worst at android, they restrict watch and tablet features that only work with their brand of phones. who said android is free and friendly?
@@whatsbestnowthey are great phones. There’s a reason why they’re so popular.
@@jclif77 well you're not wrong. I just don't see it but like they always say beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I don't see apple messing up the RCS at the moment. I am pretty sure it will work. Who cares about the colour of the bubbles
I'm still undecided on if ill start using actual texts. They advertise E2E, but how do we know it isn't backdoored since it will be closed source?
I have a deep purple 14 pro max, should I upgrade this year or wait until next year? I miss having my usual silver/white iPhone!
update every year, are you poor or smth?
Bro if I’m being honest upgrade every 4 years you aren’t missing much from the 15 pro max tbh. It’s not worth the money I own an ultra 2 watch as well it wasn’t much a difference from my old watch.
2:55 go to settings, scroll down to apps, click on. The three dots on the top right, select "special access", scroll down to "appear on top" and toggle the setting off for all apps or select the ones you don't want to appear as floating windows.
To fix the issue you have to change the notification for messages to “show full details” or something worded like that. HATED it too! 3:16
Anyone know how to get similar "brief notifications" as shown but on a pixel 7??
I think it looks clean 😎 my notifications annoy me cuz they take up so much screen real estate
This is always entertaining, interesting, and hilarious. It’s cool to see people that literally think like I do. Even the facial impression speak my language. Awesome!!!
11:01 is when they get back on topic 😂
Thanks 😊
I do think Apple _might_ introduce a new text color for the bubble in iMessage for RCS support in iOS 18. That way, you can differentiate between iMessage, SMS text and RCS incoming messages.
It make sense! I hope you’re right!
I hope you're right and I hope it's not as annoying as the lightest shade of green, something like a purple would be sick!
Maybe they will let us choose the colors 😮
@@jasona.2044 never gonna happen buddy, I can bet my life on it. Apple never let's it's consumers "choose".
If you want to choose the colours, use Signal. Signal is the most secure messaging platform. Made by the founder of Whatsapp, Brian Acton.
Ok maybe this will help go to good lock, then edge lighting+ and then settings and there's an option to prevent swipe down on S24
Andrew, just turn off notification "bubbles" - aka brief notifications. Settings > Notifications > Notification pop-up style > detailed.
3:02 it's actually a setting that can be disabled per app
What was the avatar segway too lol and why'd they hit the buzzer? 😂
Can you explain the "harm" caused by Dbrand that caused you to cancel your relationship with them this week?

Quick questions to you guys. Is just me or you guys having bad battery with the S24 ultra? Example i disconnect the phone 100% and maybe 5 minutes later battery is 99% not touching the phone or anything. My pixel 8 Pro getting better battery. Is my phone bad or something? I love the phone but the battery is so bad. Should i reset the phone factory and start as a new phone and not use my old backup? Any ideas guys?
13:00 wait so in America you had to pay for incoming texts?? What?

my parents are divorced. my dad lives in new jersey and I lived with my mom in long island. so twice a month when my dad took me to his house we would drive by the lincoln tunnel and see the apple billboards. idk how many waveform viewers understood what that was about but. I see you.

3:20 Disable floating notifications 📌📌📌.
If you swipe left or right on the floating notification that dismissed the notification. If you swipe down on a notification that opens the notification in a floating window. If you tap on a floating notification that opens the notification app. If you still want to get notification from the app but not have the floating notification you need to change the notification settings on that particular app. If you go to notification and change the app notification style and disable pop-up notification that should fix your problem. No, it justv sends a link to download the google video call service.
Funny thing is, my iphone never even received the Google video invite through text. So i tried it again by simply copying the invite. Samw thing.
So is it blocked by apple or am i doing something wrong?
What good stuff from android work with apple?
i really hope that they put all the bells and whistles on the non pro pixel 9. i like compact phones.
I just wish Google would invest more in the CPU side of Tensor, either pay Qualcomm to build a custom Snapdragon with their AI stuff in it or at least develop something a bit better than the basic off the shelf ARM cores in G2/G3. Either that, or optimise their software properly to run on basic ARM cores without needing to run them so damn hot - older phones with older processors could run smoothly with longer battery life than what G2 and G3 are delivering.
No matter what they do it, we'll still turn it off, since it can't send texts automatically when no internet or the other person has his data connection off, despite having the option. that's a shame since it makes most of our emergency texts not reach on time, its really stupid of google not being able to pull this off
Didn’t Apple already announce it was coming this fall?
Yes
It's also feels like the Samsung TV is an ads right now I need to go look it up😊😅😅
i would be hopping to a Nothing Phone 2
The only reason other than encryption, that RCS text support will be useful (for me for example) is to be able to send videos and not sorry about file compression, because ATT for example, STILL only have like 5mb max file size for texting 💀
I have the green S24 Ultra and the green is SO pale. Think of the saturation turn down to like 10%. It's so pale and I wanted a GREEN phone. I'll need to get a skin probably.
In 2015 I had a friend that still had limited texts so when she ran out, if you didn’t have an iPhone she couldn’t text you. 😂
People need to know how to toggle use sms when imessage is unavailable in message settings. It's not rocket science.
@@rahullulaycorrect most of these comments are based on ignorance.
Having to pay for inbound SMS and even inbound phone call was quite an American thing. I was shocked when I was on vacation in the US and learned that I had to pay if somebody called me. That is like having to pay for receiving a letter.
Its because you came from a different country. In the US, plans for calling are free.
The US embraced unlimited SMS years before other countries did. That was why iMessage even became popular in the first place. People would use the SMS for texting without any need to download other apps. I guess you just got some cheap temporary plan during vacation
In the US its mostly unlimited calls and sms.
@@paperplates1867 No, I did not use the plan from my own country. I bought a cheap phone in the US that came with a prepaid plan. That was in 2007. Back than in was normal that you had to pay for incoming calls in the US.

It's autumn of 2024 here … I wish people would use months or quarters or "late"

To the thing about product placement and TV and Movies, don’t mind the product placement as long as the show of movie doesn’t replace the devices’ UI with something from their visual department.
It is most likely that the RCS bubbles will be green but I think they should be purple because it's going to be important to differentiate them from SMS bubbles
Well on android you can change the color to anything you want, so only iphone users will have these ugly green bubbles

I am in the same boat as David.
I’m still gonna use a lot of Apple devices though cause I’m so locked into the ecosystem but I want a S24 Ultra so bad!! Lol
My thought process was the same thing until I switched cold turkey to the s24 ultra and have not looked back. Granted I loved the apple ecosystem but I'm starting to like android more and more each day
14 year long android user who just switched to a 15 Pro... I'm already county the days RCS comes out on IPhone. It's not about leveling the playing field but if the green bubble can receive photos and videos same as Apple, I don't need anything else. Maybe leaving the chat. Anything else would be icing on the cake
How do you like the iphone 15 pro max coming from android
@@clarkkentll5490 The first 3 weeks were frustrating after so many years with Android with all the Samsung phones I’ve had and the speed I had built from years of multi tasking. I like it now a lot. Is it better than the S24+ or other new competing androids? Tough question. I’ll tell you this much: group txt chats or talking to people is easier now than forcing them to download a separate app like with android working around apple. I know this is a U.S. thing but I live here so what can I do. The only things I miss from Android are the fast charging (even though long term not good for battery health) and the scheduled txt option for future sending that I used a lot and the google messages on the computer integration. Aside from that I like the gif and integrated messenger options in iMessage a lot. No more taking a screenshot on chrome then pasting it into txt. It’s very smooth and processor is solid. Photos and videos are very crisp and I have found myself posting WAY more on social media than I ever have before. I’m even looking at buying a phone gimbal now to help take my photos and videos to the next level for fun. I really like the voice isolation while on calls, the Dynamic Island is pretty cool when you get used to it. This whole “apple doesn’t let you customize” is only true if you are a die hard artsy person who wants to be specific with your layout then yes it’s true. I’m just a normal person who uses their phone for business (real estate sales) and personal use and I don’t need to have the best laid out widgets and secret Home Screen layout. This isn’t a competition. I’ve already had several people thank me for getting an iPhone because they hated the green bubble lol In the end, I am very happy now.
Apple and Google should both just use the Signal protocol, since it's open-sourced and in use already by multiple different platforms.
I run Blue Bubbles on my Tab s9 and it works flawlessly with messages often being delivered on the Tab before they come in on the iPhone 15 pro max. Only issue is that it requires a Mac to run the server and you have to use private api sto get things like typing and delivered notifications and to start group messages. If you have a mac, this is a way better solution than RCS.
