WOW, she’s a thing to behold💯beautiful
Superbe couteau.
Glad you like it! Thanks for the unboxing video. To answer the question from the forum; yes, with textured canvas micarta the sheath pulls out some of the wax that coats the knife handle, lightening up that portion of the handle. Hit it with a bit of oil or wax and it will be back to fully uniform colored. I should start putting a note in the box with textured canvas micarta.
Eventually once the inside of the sheath becomes saturated with wax it will no longer pull the wax from the knife handle.
Thanks,
Cody
Thank you very much, Cody. broke out the Aussie wax.
Hah!!!!! I'll bet that shocked the shit outta ya when you pulled that blade out and saw the discoloring on the micarta slabs!!!!! Hope you were able to remedy that aesthetic blunder. Cody doesn't make bad knives, but unpolished micarta does tend to do that when in contact with certain materials, fluids, and substances. Beautiful knife; and if it were mine, it would look a whole lot worse in a weeks time......... Good luck with it
Watched your video several times, doesn't get old, enjoy it every time, thank you! Now I just want to know what spyderco model knife is that? I liked that one too, lol.
Thank you, Raul. The Spydie was a Peter Rassenti custom folder called "Nirvana". It was also available as a production knife of the same name from Spyderco.
Congrats on the knife. Like your color combo choice! Also, even polished micarta will change color from sitting in a sheath, not being used enough etc... a bit of oil or just a lot of use always evens out the color.
Thank you!
I really want one of these
Order books are open at adventuresworn.com
Very nice, did you request a double stitched sheath? It's no longer an option on their site.
Thank you. Yes, double stitch requested from the drop-down menu at the time.
I know this video is old but can you tell me the difference between the classic and the mountaineer if you know by any chance
If I remember correctly, the classic is a slightly shorter blade than the mountaineer. Slightly different handle design for sure.
grnamin alright man thanks a lot I got a mountaineer coming on Tuesday can’t wait, great video
@@americanpatriot3667 Thank you!
Would this happen with the field grade Explorer knife with the black micarta handle scales? I was looking to maybe order one of those, but this has kinda put me off a bit, having to refurbish a brand new knife right out of the box is a little off putting, surely you can apply a seal of some kind or do something to stop this happening? Beautiful knife, but I can buy a Mora Companion HD for $15.00 that doesn't need any attention when I buy it!!
The micarta discoloration is only cosmetic though.
Which folder is that?
NewGunGuy It's a custom Peter Rassenti large Nirvana.
Are you selling it
Sorry, not currently selling it.
