      The turning point in that series was Ruiz getting sent off in the first game. Up until that point, Monterrey had hardly threatened and Miami seemed to be cruising towards a victory. Giving up those two goals after Miami went down to 10 men made the return match an almost impossible task because Miami had no choice but to press forward and Monterrey could focus on not taking any risks defensively.

    In Monterey game Messi was seriously great. Commentators/analysts did you watch it?
    Monterey was also great. But for Inter it was the defense, the finishes provided by Messi, and the feeds into Messi that were poor.

    I have always said that the capacity of stadiums are to small, they should be at least 45,000 capacity.

      The interest-level wasn't at what it is now for it to make financial sense at the time. Maybe in the future, with increased revenue and more interest, league-wide renovations will be made

      There's really only one club that regularly fields 40k plus crowds and that's Atlanta United. The rest won't get those type of attendances.

      @@MichaelWalker-wu2pq Charlotte and Seattle both average in the high 30k and surpass 45k for bigger games. Having said that, I think there is a reason that many of the newer MLS stadiums tend to be in the 25k to 30k range, which is about right. Children's Mercy Park only has a capacity of 18.5k, which was fine when it was built, but is too small now.

      Excuses all around. You could've have the best and healthiest eleven vs Rayados and still get stomped. MLS teams are not used to high and close pressure defense (you sacrifice that for spectacle and easy goals).

    Monterrey was hungry and waiting to ball. I was wholly disappointed with Messi and Inter's performance. They were supposed to be the answer and high challengers that would bring notoriety to the MLS especially against Liga MX. So far it's my Sounders that regardless of the team opponent, still got one and only one so far for MLS when it comes to cup matches against Liga MX...

      MLS has loosened up some of its restrictions for this next summer transfer period. Teams that go for the 2 senior DPs and 3 U22 DPs option will effectively also be raising their salary cap on the rest of the players by about a third. It's not enough, but its a start.

      @@ralfcebrian8905 Alba, Busquets, Suarez, and Messi were all free agents, so they didn't have to pay any transfer fees on any of them. The issue is their salaries. Only two of them could be designated as DPs whose salaries don't count against the cap. So even though the other two agreed to lower salaries, it still forced the sale of other higher salaried players on the roster.
