  • I compare why the automatic is still a great way to go in the Supra. I also share why I didn't go with a manual Supra given the added costs.

    Props to sticking to your guns and getting what you wanted. Personally, I would have still gone for the manual because I really enjoy the engagement of a manual transmission sports car over an auto, but for your wants and needs I can totally get why you decided to go for the auto. I'm sure either one is a great car, and I just hope I actually get to see one in the flesh at some point (still have never seen one in the wild).

    Hi going60, there is a video out there from an automotive engineer stating switching your wheels and tires out with 20’s and Michelin 4s’s 255 in front and 295 in the rear makes this car handle like a Porsche. What are your thoughts on this?

    I’ve been catching up on your videos after I was auto unsubscribed from your channel. I changed my order from a 2SS 1LE A10 to a M6. I don’t regret that decision but maybe 5% of the time. Good thing about an auto with paddle shifters is you can live the dream, performance wise but the left foot and right arm miss the experience. I love the in depth, unique reviews that most CZcamsrs miss, such as getting a drink carrier through a Camaro window in the drive through. I’ll be honest I built and priced a Supra tonight. Keep up the excellent content, we are watching! Sorry about the 3000Gt but the writing was on the wall and I think you knew that before moving on, I believe you even mentioned that early on. Manual all day. Especially if being “faster” is your goal. Sure, BONE STOCK the auto will be quicker but once mods come into play you won’t have to buy a $10k built automatic trans. Manual can handle a lot more power with a clutch at most

  • @RagShop1
    @RagShop1 Před rokem +6

    Good pick but if I went for one, it'd be the 2.0. Reviews say the 255 HP is more like 300 and you save about 8 grand over the 3.0 and have nearly 50/50 weight distribution with the lighter 4 cylinder. The adaptive suspension dampers on the 3.0 are nice but the 2.0's non-adaptive shocks have gotten praise from most testers I've read. 0 to 60 time of 4.5 seconds is plenty fast, the 2.0 can just about match a 400 HP Nissan Z manual AND the car has gotten 38 MPG in 75 MPH highway fuel economy tests.

      The real world Supra 3.0 0-60 is closer to 4.2-4.7 without a launch.

    Along with the Buick Grand National/GNX that came with Automatic only in the 1980s. Which no one gave a crap that it was automatic, that vehicle is legendary.

    It's your money and your car at the end of the day. Both have their value and interests. While manual is engaging and fun, the auto is more efficient and faster. People who give the time of day to say one is better than the other are usually envious or don't even own one at all. I also agree that the technology package on a lot of vehicles aren't even worth it. Especially on a sports car which should be costly for it's performance, not bells and whistles.

But in a true sports car, it feels like I'm missing something with an auto, I have even driven DCT sports cars and even otehr ZF8 BMWs and it always felt like something was off and i just wouldn't want to dump money into a sports car that feels off to me so I just couldn't invest into an auto. @@philspaghet Yet Grand National/GNXs wasn't made for the track. And literally with a manual swap you'll make it slower. Hence, the Automatic is why it beatin' cars like the F40 Ferraris and Corvettes on the strip.
      Clearly you're off

    Buying a sports car with an automatic transmission is a mistake on a biblical scale. Just go buy a Subaru bro

      Lol I would but would need to keep a few engines on hand for when the subie blows or starved itself of oil. I want one don’t get me wrong. I love manuals and prefer them but couldn’t justify the cost

      Relax, at a certain speed all cars must be automatic, and some are better auto like the mustang 10 speed.

    An up charge for a Manual? That's absurd! Under those circumstances, you made the right choice, Bro. Manuals cost less and are easier to repair than their Automatic counterparts. Clearly, they were trying to gouge you.

      You have no idea what what you’re talking about. I haven’t had my Challenger in over two years. If you prefer people or special CZcamsrs that stick to one brand I can recommended a lot and their videos get so stale and boring and they rehash all the same content
