I will try once with the drilling into it and pulling it out. If it doesn't come out, forget it. This is the second time I had an issue with it but I didn't know it was the aluminum reacting to the battery. It was a great light
Had to do this same thing with a different flash light(still AA battery tho). I used a drill bit first then a skinny lag bolt. I thought the drill bit/lag bolt might cause the battery to expand creating more problems, but it worked like a charm.
Had the same thing happen to the exact same flashlight. The problem is... they used some kind of epoxy in the construction process and it's all over the inside of the battery housing gluing the batteries in place.
Just did this with a flashlight that I’ve had for over a decade. It lit on fire and made my garage smell terrible. 10 out of 10 would not recommend lol.

I took mine apart a little more. I unscrewed the long shaft. It holds two batteries
Mmmm same issue here, I'm gonna try one of these days
This is the exact flashlight that I've got a battery stuck into and it's a great light but it burns too hot and leaks and sticks
Okay, your video saved me killing myself over $27 flashlight

Okay, it sounds like the aluminum doesn't work with the battery and that's what causes it to leak and stick and corrode

I am about to do this with my Maglite, I will send an update if it is unsuccessful.
Success
My 2D Maglite is ruined, can't get the Duracel out and I'm afraid to drill it
30 minutes to change a battery
