- It's been a day since the huge Fenix A320 update was released and since then, I fielded many questions from people wanting to know the answers to a lot of the same and popular questions. In the Livery Manager you can select 4K liveries by default, but once installed the banner will say 8K is installed. If you look in the bottom right corner of the livery, you will see a faint 4K icon. This means you have 4K installed. The faulty 8K banner is a known issue by support, so it should get fixed.
If people are struggling with FPS I highly recommend the Frame Gen and MSFS AutoFPS Mods, I also use the Map Enhancement Mod which now also caches your photogrammetry and allows it to be flushed after every flight. Depending on where I'm flying to/from I'm getting between 40 to 70 fps and that's on an Nvidia 3060 with everything set to Ultra. Oh, and I never experienced a single bug during my first flight everything worked as promised.

Frame rates are ok for me, but I'm having bad stuttering when moving my view especially at addon airports
!!! Make sure to copy both frame gen files to the fenix directory, fixes any issues with display !!!
On the strength of the version 2 release I’ve just purchased today the Fenix A320 after using the FBW version for the last year. Spent the afternoon tweaking everything and finding my way around. I’m sure once I’m good to go I’m going to really enjoy this aircraft. Keep up the good work Gavin, I’ll watching your videos even more closely now for the latest fixes and tips!
I've been using the fbw since it's release, I'm now very tempted to buy the fenix.
May wait for a few bugs I've heard of to get ironed out first though....
Well I’ve taken the plunge now. All credit to FBW though, I would not have had the confidence to take on the Fenix without mastering the FBW. As for bugs, I’m hoping that V2 has ironed out most of them, but I guess you’re never going to get it perfect. Worth the chance I think to buy the Fenix now.
My FPS made a Jump up by 10 and more after the Fenix FPS. Nice work From Fenix. And as usual, nice job on your side for that video.👍👍👍

Very helpful thanks! Not sure if the following was in the last release. If you load your flight plan into the MCDU manually, you will need to ensure you put the end point in on each airway manually. For example if FP shows RUD Z30 MAN UL253 DEP L809 SUG, do not enter the airway numbers alone as the route will be extended. So you load Z30 then input MAN, not UL253. Hope that makes sense.

With the new release I'm finding tiller and rudder control much smoother - I have selected SDS and Rudder damping.
At first using the tiller on taxiways was like trying to control an errant supermarket trolley but quickly sorted with sensitivity adjustments, keeping centreline on take off with rudder inputs is certainly a lot better now.

Two observations:
1. The serious drop in FPS in outside view is also true for 4K textures
2. Did anybody else notice the FPS drop when in cockpit on the ground and you switch on the landing and taxi lights?

You can change the livery Resolution in the Felix livery managers settings.
For 4k go into settings on livery installer, you can choose 4k or 8k
This. And it makes a difference!
I've done that, but even if the thumbnail says 4K, after installation there is the label "8K installed"
@erri8683 yeah , probably just bug . At least hope so . Checked textures resolution now ..and they are indeed 4K , but it shows 8K in manager . Dont worry

Performance wise, slightly worse and a bit stuttery on the ground, so turned on frame gen and its better. Could also need some tweaking in NVIDIA Control Panel. I definitely find V2 easier to land, the flare is modelled way better, albeit it is a bit floaty. Cockpit announcements are great, and a decent selection of liveries. 4K ones can be installed you need to hit settings in the Livery manager. EFB way better, and like you can send departure calc to MCDU if short on time. Overall a very good update with many welcome enhancements.
Yes, you can select 4K in the livery manager. When doing that, however, 8k is installed if you check after the installation. Either it's a bug or 4k liveries are planned to be added later on, which I hope.
Personally my camera.cfg file was still there in the A320 folder, I even copied it into the IAE folder and it works flawlessly.
The cockpit dimensions have changed a bit so I had to do minor adjustments but that was it.
About the performance drop due to the 8k liveries, I have the same issue. Even though I have selected on my Livery Manager that all the liveries should be in 4k, it is shown that the 8k version had been downloaded. BUT, if you check the size of the textures and their resolution, their are really in 4k, so I guess that the performance loss must be bad for another reason. Maybe the new outside model is not quite as optimized as the old one.
I used an 8K livery on my flight just now only had one stutter and before the update it stuttered a lot more

That will be nice to see some animated passengers in the airplane. Looks sad empty with those beautiful seats! Any idea when GSX will release that..?!
Should the MiniFCU now work without the need of any other software or does it still require mobi etc?
My performance has inproved a bit .50/65
A couple of things I've noticed are that the IAE engines seem very quiet. Noticed this at cruise. And also no wake/turbulence coming out of the back of the jets.
Dunno if the same is with CFM as I've not tried it.
Anyone else having issues with reverse thrust settings on the Honeycomb bravo? Flicking up the reverse switches no longer puts it into reverse idle. It still works when flicking the switches up and pulling the levers past the detent to go full reverse but, the switches themselves are no longer functioning in isolation. Thanks for the upload Gav.

Strangely, but none of the listed questions were on my plate while putting my hands on the controls of this new bird… :) But the issues I faced were next:
1. First noticeable thing was that the default instrument views have changed - the ones toggled by Cyril+1/2/3… putting the camera into position where several controls were not reachable or hardly usable… and the full cleanup and reinstall didn’t fix the thing so I was literally forced to replace everything with the custom views which is not that bad except for the fact that it’s an annoying waste of time :) but it’s Ok…
2. Second thing confused me a bit more and it’s a fear that Fenix might change the way they handle the LVARs… Thankfully almost everything works. So far I’ve faced only one thing which confused me and it’s a QNH input… I use Logitech/Saitek radio panel in combination with SpadNext for that and the previous increment step by 1 actually increments the value by 2… which means You can set 1013, 1011, 1009, 1007 and so on… Same for the Standby. I changed the incremental step to 0.25 instead and somehow it started working but I’d appreciate much if Fenix could provide a proper increment setting for that input instead of searching for it myself.
3. And third thing I noticed so far is that the thrust reverse deployment has changed so once again I need to find a proper things to assign the commands from my Honeycomb Bravo… would be nice to also have an advise on that…
Other than that - the bird is perfect as it can only be…
GSX sync saves a lot of time and adds more fun!
I finally feel the controls the way I understand them and the aircraft became much more predictable! That’s the biggest achievement for me personally! It’s not “draggy” that much anymore and really feels like “flying”! Still need to adapt to the new brakes and acceleration on the ground.
Performance wise - I haven’t really seen any significant difference since 4090 eats everything i9 13900k is able to put into that muzzle… seems pretty the same as before…
And of course several visual improvements are very tasty 😋
Issue No.2 solved - it turned out that now not only Captain and FO Baro are linked, but Standby as well… and since my setup was incrementing both - I was getting double input… now it’s enough to set only one of the three to get the same settings everywhere…
This update made the best plane in MSFS even better. I got a huge performance increase in the flightdeck.
There are some bugs like the "100 above" callout or the continuous "retard" callout (you have to switch to outside view and go back again. But all callout will be silenced out until you load the Fenix again).
It’s amazing how the Fenix team put effort to this wonderful update. They made a wonderful EFB within a half of a year, while PMDG needs 1,5 years for their disappointing "UFB".

just another quirky thing for me is when sat in cockpit and i press ESC to get the MS menu and then press RESUME the A/THR disconnects. Have to move throttles up and down and then press A/THR for it to work again...happens every time. Thoughts, advice?
Hi Gavin. Thanks a lot for this video. I tried to follow the path you gave for the new location of the camera views but I don't have a FNX_320_IAE or FNX_320_CFM files. I only have a fnx320 file which I find odd.
Not loving how the default EFB view from the camera menu has changed. Had to save a new preset for that. Also having issues with the Nav light click spot. When it gets flipped all the way up to the #2 position, I can’t click it back down from the default “overhead” view and have to readjust the camera position to hit it. Also still wondering why my 320 keeps loading in with gear missing, falls to the tarmac and I have to restart the flight, but I guess not a lot of other people are having this problem.
Does someone have an issue that when you try to pop out any screen (Im using ipad), the game just crashes? Was hoping v2 will fix that, but im still having this issue:/ no such issue on FBW though
I love the Fenix but why:
1. no Thrust with Idle ? The aircraft doesn’t taxi
2. The Door page not correct because no ,,Slide‘‘
3. Speed Limit Point climb is away …
4. edit the Des Speed limit point and the MCDU crash.

I had the same issue with the autopilot disconnecting and not wanting to reactivate
Issue: Aircraft parked at gate in "turn around state" ( engines off, APU running). When selecting GSX to load, I get the error..." you must shut down engines to request ground services". GSX has been updated, but not working. Any ideas?
Raised an issue with Fenix earlier as the IAE engine version loads buried in the tarmac, even with gear lever down. No failures, no reasons?
there is an option inside the livery manager that let you choose 4k or 8k.
I have a 4080super and 5800x3d. Turned on FG and stopped looking at the fps counter. Runs great!
what is FG?
Not looking at the FPS counter is the first step to happiness.
Thanks for this video! I have problems with the flaps of the thrustmaster throttle quadrant. They won't working anymore and i can´t find out how i can activate the needed axis again... Is there anyone else with this problem?
@Easyjetsimpilot For the AP bug: it seems like the aircraft triggers AoA protection and it disconects the AP.
To deactivate the angle of attack protection, the pilot must push the sidestick:
Greater than 8° forward, or,
Greater than 0.5 °for at least 0.5 s when a < a MAX.
then engage AP again and it should be all good
If this were the case, it would be reflected on the FMAs and your airspeed would be low.
I've had this bug happen to me, in stable flight conditions (actually I was on descent, so the was no high AoA protection) 👍
@@EasyjetsimpilotI don't use any fancy dedicated kit like you chappies do; I just have a Logitech extreme pro joystick that I use for all my flying. Anyway, I got the AP disconnect twice on my flights (I am a brand new Fenix A320 user) and got really angry after spending all that dosh on a new plane that seemingly didn't work properly! After a quick bit of Googling ... someone suggested setting the NULL ZONES a bit higher in the controls setting page in MSFS ... mine on all control surfaces were set to 2 .. the suggestion was to set them to around 4 or 5. I did so, not really holding out much hope it would ... Do you know what? .... it BLOODY WELL DID WORK! I've not looked back since! One very happy bunny just here!
Dunno if it will help anyone else out, if so GREAT ... if not well, I hope you can find a solution .. as I know the frustration you feel! The problem it seems, is a spike in the inputs through the USB bus on your PC ... in other words, a little fluctuation in the electric current running through your joystick. That spike is picked up by the autopilot in the model, and interpreted as a sharp control input, thus p*ssing the autopilot off and causing it to spit its dummy! I am no engineer, but I have come across this problem before in my many years of simming and I'd forgotten about it until Mr Google showed me the way LOL
@@Easyjetsimpilot thats the bug the AoA protection triggering when it shouldnt, you dont have to wiggle the joystic or the rudder just push the stick forward to deactivate the AoA protection and it should let you engage AP again
After a four hour flight did not have any auto pilot issues, GSX was a bit funny on pushback but was happening before the update and other aircraft so not related to this.
I'm getting a lot of sound stutters not sure its related to the update but a bit of advice would be more than welcome.
I don't manage to toggle between managed or selected neither with speed, neither with altitude nor with vertical speed ...
I applied the new flight control sensitivity settings and I find the flight controls insanely sensitive compared to the V1 model.. should it be like that?
I’m sure I didn’t have this issue during my first couple of flights but when switching between headphones and speakers the cabin announcement sounds don’t transfer and continue to play out on whatever device was being used when I first load into the aircraft despite the engines sounds etc transferring with no issues. Any ideas? Thanks
Hey Gavin, one thing I noticed is that if you must initially launch the Fenix CFM and IAE aircraft before each directory for the camera views are generated.

In your previous video, cabin crew called the flight deck and you answered it... How do you do that? I pressed the button and it lit up green but what else did you press to talk?
A small orange light should appear on the button press it and the cabin crew answer.
I’m astonished by the number of bugs in this release, both old and new. It’s not as if they haven’t had an abundance of testing time considering the monumental delays.
I agree with that absolutely. And they're further than ever from simulating flare law correctly. A very shoddy release. I certainly won't be buying the 319/321
I have an issue with the rudder pedals, they are impossible to taxi with. If I go to the left they go left but going right after that takes too much time and the next thing I know I’m out of control. Also when I go to hit the brakes, it feels like there either on or off there is no smooth operation. Is there any help for me?
Sadly even with 4K I am struggling, someone said in the discord that it is because the cabin being rendered in outside view regardless of being off or on. I am too old in this I should've known better that I had to wait at least for couple of updates before doing a flight.
I've been having trouble landing this thing since the update. It floats a lot and the nose doesn't want to come down easily after touchdown. I don't know, perhaps I just need to practice this new model.
Just fly it into the ground, don't flare too much.
I purchased FSi panel just to try and crack the Fenix landings, at last I can land it centreline and within the TDZ 😀
I had the same problem and had to set my approach speed to about 130 kts in the MCP in order to not just balloon away from the runway.
I have had issues with the AP disc on Bk2, it never happened once in block 1 with same controls etc. Would be nice to know why the problem happening ? i will try playing with sensitivities but i carnt fly certain SIDs or STARs anymore especially if they have a tight turn the AP just DISC. Never happened before hopefully Fenix can find the cause, thx for the video
I uninstalled and reinstalled and this fixed the ap disc problem.
My Fpl is lost wright before takoff- only got destination on fmc. And I also cannot hold runway heading on takeoff with my rudder pedals (Thrustmaster)after normal taxiing. Am I doing something wrong? Anyway, very dissapoiting and buggy update for me. I hope they will fix soon...
It seems like the product was rushed to market before it was fully ready, leading to issues with functionality. The testing phase appears to have been inadequate, and the communication about the product's readiness could have been better managed. For now, it might be best to wait for the developers to release a fix or update to address these issues.
A brilliant update, but my only qualm is the way it handles GSX - it would be better if they had a separate load fuel and load passengers button - I prefer to load the fuel at the start of the setup, then get the APU up so the packs are running and then load the pax. I find with the new GSX integration there’s barely a few seconds between the fuelling ending and the pax loading, it’s very unrealistic. Using Fenix2GSX doesn’t send the load sheet with this update either, so am stuck using the new GSX handling.
I'd like to know if it's possible to adjust the thrust lever detents/ sensitivity - I'm finding it difficult to find and keep it in the CLB detent
Same here, My throttles stop at idle and won't go all the way to full reverse. If I press F2, then thethrottles go all the way to reverse detent.
Everytime i try to run the fenix (after the update) i get an error after around 5 mins or so "dxgi error device hung" i've tried absolutley everything from using no mods, to stopping the overclock on my gpu, i never had this problem until this update. I also did a flight with the FBW a320 and that was fine so i know the issue is the Fenix, any suggestions?
Thanks for all your help. I watched a previous video you made where you mention that the MiniFCU is now working. My MiniFCU will be shipped to me in April. Is it FULLY operational? As in...Do the numbers now appear on the MiniFCU?

hello dear, I have fs2020 xbox version but on PC Win 11, can I buy and use this a320, the reason I am asking is fenix says its not compatible with xbox console, I am not using fs2020on console but own windows version. I am not sure if I buy fenix320 or not.

Unfortunately for me, the performance has tanked significantly with this new update, almost half of my FPS was thrown out the window, from 50+ to 25- (only in external view), it’s the only thing keeping me from enjoying the new update …
I’m not too sure whether it’s the liveries or not since my old Fenix used to have 8K liveries and had no performance issues whatsoever.

they are there! you just need to go into the settings tab in the livery manager and change the "default livery resolution" to 4K then download the liveries.

I don't think so. As Gavin shows in the video, there is definitely a performance hit in the outside view.
Unthick display and render options from fénix console and you will have back your FPS, also don’t forget to delete shader cache from nvidia folder

As a vr user l cant select any navigraph plates in the efb anymore
After updating to block 2 version 2 i’ve got two additional bugs:
1. When loading the aircraft at the airport it stucks half in ground or drops down to the ground. Also the landing gear lever is in the upper position.
2. When retracting the landing gear after take off an failure called L/G gear not down and the master caution appears.
Does anybody else have these bugs?
Since updating to version 2 I now have audible ATC and writing appearing on the screen. I can’t work out if this is to do with the Fenix or MSFS2020 and how to turn it off. Are you able to advise me on this? Thank-you

I can’t even use frame gen either cause DX12 cannot run properly and continuously crashes my sim and I have a pretty high end system smh
I haven't had any of these issues but I have had issues with it following speed constraints.My very first flight today into LEIB it would not comply with any spoed restraints and I could not reduce speed manually no matter what I tried so could not land.
Same here today, just couldn’t slow the aircraft down 😢

Thanks again for the excellent content. One issue that I've noticed with the new update is that the 'RETARD' announcement does not go away even after I touch down and taxi to the gate. This was not the case in the original release. I've re-calibrated my Bravo throttle twice. Anyone else experience this issue?
Known bug. Switch to an exterior view, then back again. It will stop 👍

I'm getting a repeated "Retard" audio message after landing. I've managed to stop it by coming to a stop on the taxiway, putting the parking brake on and going to an outside view. When I return to the cockpit the message has stopped. Throttle seems to be set correctly too. Great video and very useful, thanks for posting.

I have this problem too. At first I recalibrated my throttles in the MCDU which fixed it for a flight, now its back!
I had the exact same issue, the "retard" wouldn't stop blaring. Guess I'll have to recalibrate before every flight now.
Same here, landing RWY22L on Nice. Not the smoothest landing I've ever done. Will try your solution and hopefully Fenix will find the cause and solve it.
Throttles (Thrustmaster Airbus quadrant) were calibrated before the flight.

I have a big problem with the fenix app. When i start a flight, the app crash at the loading and in can't use the plane because he can't connect with the sim
The only issue I have is when I am hovering over any control surface in the cockpit, it lights/highlights up bright blue.. I don't know if this is FS or Fenix but I've not had it before?
It is FS, you can test it in a different aircraft.
When i am in the cockpit the blue light shivers over stuff even if i hsve turned it off also are you gonna do a tutorial on custom announcements?

The external MCDU will only work on iPads installed with IOS 16.2 or later but any Android device, I was hoping to be able to use my old iPad mini but that’s stuck on IOS 12.5.7. It may be worth buying a cheap Android tablet. Testing on my new iPad gives no lag touch button presses and even the click sound of buttons being pressed on the iPad speakers.

Love the release but I can barely fly it due to performance. It’s worse for me than the last build and this is the only plane I have issues with in that regard. Unfortunately I’m pretty much unable to fly it at this point
But regarding fps, inside cockpit there is no 4k or 8k but i have 5 fps less, why this happen?

I can't even install the update 😢. I keep getting errors like the following: An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the
destination directory:
"MoveFile failed; code 3.
The system cannot find the path specified". Is anyone encountering this problem? Doesn't affect V1 btw. And I also changed the file path and then moved the download to the community folder. This only caused another problem which is the plane doesn't display in the FS aircraft selection menu. I'm so lost. Please help! 🙏🏻 😭
No mention of the raised/missing landing gear when spawning in or actual gear up when restarting a flight at the stand? Must just be me.
BTW on the approch performance page I still have to re-input the wind value even though it's already there, can we now confidently say that that isn't a bug?
Lel I just had that Issue when I loaded a flight and started floating over ground without landing gear. Fell down, bam, had to restart the flight (it worked this time). That's a rather goofy bug.
Yeah, I’ve been having this problem constantly. I’ve had the plane load in and fall to the tarmac multiple times. I think it happened every time I changed liveries. I’ve also had it load in showing no gear but the plane doesn’t fall to the ground, though less common. I’m also surprised I haven’t found many people talking about this.
Hi on starting my flight same happens A/C floats above ground level, gear up, along with the cones, until l press fly. normal service resumed.. @@Danimalpm1

Hi Gavin. I have the thrustmaster airbux captain pack and everything works fine EXCEPT from the flaps lever on the throttle quadrant. I haven't changed any settings before or after updating to the new fenix as I don't know which setting in the sim to change to try to get it to work. Could you or anyone else please help?
You need to re-calibrate the flap lever.
@@ScepticGinger89 I forgot that was an option since I had to recalibrate the Thrust levers. Will do so immediately.
