- The new Fenix update for Version 2 is out, however, with all the new features and additions, it probably should have been called Version 3! This is a HUGE update bringing so many new features that people have been waiting for including GSX integration, cabin announcements and many more (IAE engines too!). I was literally in the middle of a flight from Chicago to Miami using the Fenix A320 and as soon as I saw this video I downloaded it and closed out my flight that I was literally almost halfway through that’s how excited I am😂

So far I'm loving the Block 2 update. Love the feature as well when you hear the Cabin Crew's call prior to entering the runway. I'm currently using the Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick and throttle and followed their recommended settings but I still kinda find it sensitive though. Have to do a few tweaks, even better I'm looking forward to your recommended settings
The real sidestick IS sensitive. So making it less sensitive is not realistic.
I knew that 2 months in the Canaries would be well timed. 😎

Why was my engine number one T/R open during pushback? I assumed once one of the hydraulic systems pressurized all would be good. Engine number two closed some time during preflight or throttle/flaps calibration and engine number one during startup.
Great video as a;ways. I downloaded it today so I ll try it out tomorrow. This will be quite a study. I use FS2Crew, selfloading cargp, PacX and GSX.
I felt that the side sick was more response rather than damper

4K liveries are available via the Livery Manager setting dialog. There you can switch from 8k to 4k

Yes. The base now includes the IAE.
To clarify there is no upgrade fee. As Gavin said, the IAE is part of the base,

Gavin, this is a great introduction, thanks for this quick upload! One question remains for me which I think was not addressed in the video: Is there now full support to display the MCDU contents on a tablet (without having to use additional tools or workarounds)? I think this was teased/announced by Fenix but I would love to have this confirmed to be working. If so, is it controlled/initiated via the EFB?
Yes. Use the EFB on a tablet and you'll see the option for it.
Hello Mister, as always great video. Quick question. Did you run your MiniFCU natively with the fenix bc I was unable to do so. Were you still running the Quartz? If you were running it natively? did you install it differently?
Just running it as default (with no displays on the MiniFCU)
A bit disappointed that none of my CFM liveries are compatible and I lost all of my cockpit camera and wing views and the Fenix app doesn't automatically start with MSFS.. on the positive the flight model seems better and yes, landings don't float as much. The cockpit textures are sharp and crisp with engine noise more realistic - overall a great product update and thank you for getting out this video so quickly after release.
You may need to look at your exe.xml file. I had to switch to the backup file for everything to load up again.
Aaaand my antivirus through it was a virus when I updated it, now I have to download 137Gb update for MSFS as the file integrity got messed up! :) so much for enjoying the IAE engines today…
Hi Gav. You "ask for" things that we find different about the fantastic new Fenix. I find that, among other things, the speed, altitude indications in the PFD and data on the ND display stutter/lag a lot on take off and during landing, which makes flying somewhat difficult. and funnily enough, there is almost nothing in flight. Do you have any idea what could be causing this.

in the previous ver no anti ice indications when set On at bleed page now work
and when you insert for example specific altitude on waypoint or vor ( RSK ) in vert rev page then click on CLB or DES the system get you out to mcdu menu page and now fixed
How did you answer the cabin crew call? What button do you press to talk? I can't find a push to talk setting

Hi Gavin! Great video. Do you still have to start the GSX Fenix app before MSFS? Or is everything now in the EFB?
Gsx should start automatically with msfs. Then all via the Fenix app.
I dont have the Fenix as I've only been using the FBW, but that GSX integration looks fantastically smooth

The n1 indicator on the iaes is the third sial/the bottom one that's what I focus on
Many pilots watch the N1 as well even tho IAE mainly uses the EPR. A330 driver just made a video about that.

I have made a few flights with the FBW A320 (as well as the Horizon modified 319 & 321), but even though I have the Fenix A320 I have never made a flight with that model. Having seen this clip, and now the update, I am anxious to do a flight in the Fenix.
One request (if possible): Would you make a video for FBW pilots who want to transition to the Fenix? Perhaps covering what changes need to be made by the pilot for set-up and flight? Not sure how hard that would be, but I would greatly appreciate something like that. Obviously, things that are same could be skipped; just the differences. Thanks much!
Most things are the same. The big things are the SEC FPLN and FINAL APPR mode both work, as well as the takeoff performance calculator.
I really recommend to change to the Fenix. It's way better and has more advanced flight model. The FBW feels kinda weird. You don't have to really change anything big. You will learn it really quickly.
@@FinlandGuy747 OK. Thanks. I do intend to go to the Fenix. Not thet I have anything against the FBW as it was a good learning experience. It was also nice that Horizon modified the A318, A319 & A321 from LVFR. However, I am also looking forward to the 319 and 321 from Fenix when they come out. Soon I hope.

One thing: I could not hear the music in the cabin. Plus the cargo doors won't open. I assume that the power has to be on for those to work with the GSX integration.
@@Topcat1952 I also have the FBW and fly it sometimes. Now im waiting for them to fix the flight model and then im gonna fly some more. But after you've flown the Fenix for a while hou never want to go back to LVFR. I personally don't support them and i would never buy their planes but i have nothing against someone else doing so.
For a moment I thought you siad that the MiniCockpit FCU was working natively already. It seems not to be the case. I'm guessing that your Mobiflight/Fenix Quartz was retained and kicked right in? My digital displays are still not working. I like switching between the FBW and Fenix so I haven't gone down the Mobiflight route.
AFAIK the agreement between Fenix & Prosim was just signed or about to signed at the time of release, so a bit late for this release. I assume it will be native pretty soon.
I was impatient. I configured the Mobiflight workaround and it works like a charm. The whole new aircraft is simply stunning and flies flawlessly. Well done to the Fenix Team!@@jumpjet777

Hi, when the fuel truck was in position, I loaded the aircraft and clicked gsx but when I clicked it, it didn’t refuel the aircraft.
In the cockpit I have better performance, however I feel like when I switch to the exterior view the frames drop significantly.

The Minifcu is still not working. According to Fenix this will come later. It works on the screen but not on the unit itself. A very good upgrade though.

During descent to airports above 1000 ft elevation, I like to change the 10,000' slow-down to 11 - 15 thousand to have it slow down to 250kts for me. But now, when I go to change it (/11000 for examp), the mcdu screen goes to black until I press something else. It wont accept my input. Any advice?
In the sim world what's the difference between the engine types? Is it just a preference thing or is there actually a difference. I'm relatively new to this so I don't understand the hype.

Yes, me too. The GPU gets hammered, the difference in performance is immens, even after complete reinstall.

Disappointed that under Airline Modifiable Information on the EFB, there isn’t a way to change the switchology on the overhead panel to a US airline configuration.
You fly that airframe in real life, do you? So SDS on or off in your opinion.
I mean that will depend on the hardware one is using, I guess. I use the TCA Airbus Sidestick, which is said to be an adequate representation, but I'm still looking for the input of people who know how the real Sidestick transfers their inputs.

Ok I've only checked IAE so I don't know if it happens in CFM - but despite calibrating TCA throttle - the plane rolls on its own on idle thrust. Should it really do that? Basically whenever I release breaks it begins to gain speed. Very confused.

Most of the previous ones plus airlines that use IAE like BA, Jetstar and many JetBlue liveries

No, there are 2 separate profiles now.

the fps for me had actually dropped by 3-8 but im pretty sure thats because i just loaded into the airport ill have to actually wait for everything to load then ill try it out for an actual fps test

Do we uninstall the original installation of the Fenix or just update it?
You can either download and install the new version over the top of your existing version or delete the old and install the new version, the second option means resetting everything like throttle calibration and Vatsim ID.

The enthusiasm around the latest Fenix A320 IAE release is palpable, but from my experience, it's been a bit of a turbulent journey. Encountering issues like autopilot disconnects mid-cruise, a compromised flare model, disappearing liveries, and overall performance downturn, it's hard not to feel like we're navigating a whole new aircraft rather than enjoying a polished update. And these concerns are just the tip of the iceberg. In my initial flights alone, I've grappled with erratic track miles following a 'DIR TO RAD IN', unwarranted spoiler retractions, and an Alpha Protection mode engaging rather high during turns. In hindsight, releasing a beta version for thorough vetting by real-world pilots could have spared us these growing pains and ensured a smoother ascent for this update. A step like that might have steered this release away from being a potential 'show stopper' and more towards the high-flying experience we all anticipated.
I have been flying the aircraft for quite a while but have never experienced any of the issues you are. That is strange. Performance to be has been superb, liveries disappeared because unfortunately the v1 liveries did not transfer over to v2, flare model feel way much better at least imo, and no autopilot disconnects for me either. It is pretty weird that you are faced with these issues.

I have the new updates and the new Mini FCU. However shortly after take off I get various warnings from the aircraft and have no idea how to stop them. (Cab/press & Auto throttle limited) Would be grateful if anyone has any ideas how I correct this. Also found I cannot cut out the main instruments so as to put on another monitor. (I'm sure it worked ok before the Fenix update)

Please can someone help me after I’ve downloaded block 2 Fenix.exe isn’t working it won’t stay open it just keeps closing, I’ve the max client 64 change to the 128 from the tutorial easyjetsimpilot make a couple of weeks ago, I don’t have an antivirus and I know this because my v2 block 1 and before that we’re fine and I was flying the Fenix literally last night but once I’ve downloaded block 2 it’s stopped working. I’ve restarted my pc and I’ve done a full reinstallation so please can someone help me

Sure because basically you install a new vanilla plane. The same is valid for the custom camera views by the way.

Oh dear....My Fenix is now broken.....Update downloaded....now have no liveries at all becasue livery manager wont load.....Have one house livery for both engine types and nothing else. According to my friendly neighbourhood Discord, I am not alone in difficulties.......Try again tomorrow.....
