- I bought an Electric Supercar from China!! The chinese have burned me in the past, and maybe I shouldn't have trusted them with this big of an order. This electric car should have been a Qiantu K50 sport car (all electric), but you'll see that the chinese sent me, let's say, a....lesser....model.

In the 80's, I was VP of International Distributor Support for a Fortune 50 company. If I or one of my employees could be physically present at the Exporters business to pre-inspect the goods I was going to import - my Import Broker/Agent had to have someone put eyes on the product and cover me with insurance. I know $31k is a lot smaller than $2 or $5 million, but brokers have their agents all over the world. Next time hire an Importer first then buy the product. Good luck next time.

A good friend of mine lives in China, was telling me these cars are built for old people who still want to drive to the market and back. According to him you can buy them in China, brand new with custom paint if you want for under $2000. The car that Jalopnik reviewed is a better example of what people buy there.

He doesnt realize that these Chinese know who the pros are at importing and who arent simply by the fact he didnt demand things in writing and didnt bother asking the seller for certain things like the Master of bill of lading, Container Stuffing location, etc.. These suppliers are used to dealing with businessmen who know every step of this process and have done this many times that they know exactly what to demand from these sellers.. these arent just sellers.. these are partners in a contract that youre hiring to supply your goods that we usually sell.. Also thse sellers are used to not receiving the full amount of money till once the merchandise is shipped or received at the port.. paying full amount up front shows theyre dealing with a noob and thats how they know they could scam him. NEVER pay a large amount of money like that up front till you have proof of what youre buying.. demand the seller to show you what theyre shipping.
