I really enjoyed this series. I have so many ideas for my own electric bike once the warranty has run out. A bigger battery and speed controller are the way to go. My Evo3 Moonster thing, is actually registered as a MORAKOT but it did come with a Certificate of Conformity to register it in the UK. That means the manufacturer just prints a certificate without the machine really complying the uk safety rules, but whatever the scam, it is a straight forward process to register it for use on the road.

Here in Canada you don’t need a licence registration or insurance these bikes here in Canada have bicycle peddles lol ikr but hay it’s only supposed to do 32 kms / hour but come on I made it go a lot faster I’ve reached 75 kms on lead acid batteries like you I want lithium good video thanks can’t wait for the new one

Yeah I was pretty surprised to learn that the expensive component of personal electric vehicle (bike, moped, scooter) is the battery...everything else including the motor is cheap.
Have enjoyed this series. I was wondering is there anyway to speed up charging times. Can you set up a system to use the fast charge stations.
You can get a higher power charger to significantly improve charge times. I'd have to ask lord Curt about fast charging, but I'm pretty sure the Li Ion cells wouldn't like it. But you could probably get a full charge time down to like 6-8 hours with a beefier charger

Little tip I know that you are from California so the trip would be a pain in the ass but I have family out there and they come out here to visit once a year in Ohio and the cost to get plates and register your bike is like $25 the plate and $5 for a year registering it they do that with their car is also

An easy way to get these registered might be to buy a wrecked Kawasaka Ninja 250 frame with a title and use that. However, lately it is very difficult to get anything from China. There are still a lot of sellers offering items for sale but after you send them the money they just keep stalling and saying it's shipping but never actually ship anything.
Just get a used 250 for $250-$500...fix it and keep it as a rice burner. It'll do over 100 mph without the upgrades :-P
I was drawing an electric bike and i think there should be an attachable at the back that will make the passenger comfortable a proper seat you can always detach it

So I'm curious... when I ordered the nice sales lady (Grace) sent me an option list including upgrade to the 8000w motor and upgraded battery. Although the Alibaba site said 8000w looking at the specs of the 1500$ bike it was only 3000w. Once I ordered she sent me a purchase order that listed the 3000w motor and then another line item with the 8000w selection and, again, the upgraded battery. This totaled 2500 including shipping to my door. We'll see what I actually get, it has been built and she sent me a video of the bike. It is set to leave Shanghai in the next few days. I will let you know what I actually get!! Lets hope it is actually the right one. Also I suspect there is only one manufacturer of these particular bikes and a variety of resellers.

Many factories have the same owner. It's not just a China thing. It's wherever there are regulations. For example: owner has 3 factories...2 are sweatshops with suicides and inhumane conditions. They have 1 factory which follows all the regulations. The products manufactured at the factories not following regulations get driven to the 1 good factory through the back. They then pretend everything is made at the 1 good factory. I know people that have to travel to China to inspect the factories. Everyone (the customers of the manufacturers) pretend they don't know what's going on but they all really do. Another example is Italy and luxury leather goods...same setup but in many cases they work the immigrants from Africa almost to death then refuse to pay them. When they ask to be paid the owner has people beat them up.
Great video, was it worthwhile without the upgrades? All very well having three battery packs, where do you store them whilst riding? I assume they are quite bulky?

I don't know much but I met a guy that imports stuff from China and he always gets pictures before they package the items. Maybe it would have helped with the wrong motor thing.
If they had ripped you off entirely and not sent you a bike at all it at least wouldn't have been a massive amount of money lost. When buying you must have then type out every single specification on the contract. Did your contract state 5000w on the actual contract? If so trade assurance covers 30days after you receive the item so not sure why you mentioned it expired.
And to be clear the contract is not what's on the items website front page. It's what they type out before you make payment.
Not looking for electric atm, but issue I seem to be having is no seller has an EPA certified motorcycle. Which seems is needed in order to import to USA. Any tips? Realistically, looking to just make a track bike. So don't care about registering. Though would be nice.

Step 3 didnt work for me. Ohio DMV told me F off because everything that gets imported has an MCO including e-bikes which only come with serial numbers from everything I've found.
I have the Bill of Lading, receipt and the inspection. Then they decided to nit pick the receipt from ride the wind in Canada saying it didn't have the info they needed it to have and everything he listed was right on the receipt.
Can you just buy 1 and upgrade it for me ? like you did your bike . When you finish I’ll come over and pay & pick it up !

there is no "gears" so to speak on electric vehicles seeing how the motor is connected directly to the wheels there's no transmission

I have this bike and the frame is terrible. I don't trust the frame to hold together during riding it. The weld are absolute shit and the frame isn't straight. This is very dangerous.
