- Karyn built the great Revell 968 Chevy Chevelle plastic kit in 1/25 scale.It's a wonderful rerelease of an early Revell fit. The Chevelle was one of Karyn's favorite cars back in the 60's.
A friend had one and she fell in love with it. And now, she has one of her own!
The kit is a bit of a challenge and not an easy build. BUT it fits perfectly, and coms out great if you build it with care...

We agree! Oh I wish I could get back on two automobiles I started years ago. Alpha 8C from the thirties. One a racer. One street. Working spark advance and throttle on both. Working brakes. 1:8 scale. I already built one. So this would make three. Sigh. But we have a damn railroad to build!

You do a great job in building these models, may I suggest using mod podge glue glossy for attaching your windows from the inside it dries clear and you can't tell it's there 👍👍

Congratulations on your dream car. If I had the money my 68 Charger would be on the road instead of my garage. My buddy had a 69 Chevell. Fortunately I got to cruise in most of the factory Hot Rods. Great job and video guys!❤

Idea! Build a diorama of a car lot. Use a model building similar to a false-front building, used in building railroad layouts. Leave spaces for 6 (Karyn built) cars. The name could be Karyn's Used Kars, or just Karyn's Kars 🙂

Boy, Karen, that Chevelle looks so real, I want to jump in and go for a ride! I'd take a drive down to Santa Monica beach and the pier. C'mon! Let's go! Gotta have the Beach Boys playing on the radio! Oh well, it's a nice dream.

Nice model build. I always struggle with glossy paint jobs, but recently I got acceptable results with the Tamiya polishes and top coat of Klear (also polished)
It’s so hard to get right. I use McGuires polish. Same idea.

I feel like AMT had better car kits. Though the Revell’s were good. I built lots of cars, ships, and planes. When I finally grew up and could afford a spray pin and compressor, I was no longer building model cars. Have been working on a scale model Civil War cannon and lumber. Thinking about getting a caisson kit as well (same as the limber but with 2 ammo chests and 2 spare wheels. Great video. Lots of detail Karyn! Neat model.
What scale is the canon? Sounds like fun! I had a 1:24 as I recall. Plastic.
@@ToyManTelevision 1:16, metal, lots of filing, and using clamps to glue. Epoxy body filler. Prime and then paint.
I remember when testors came out with lemon smelling glue .I don't think it mattered.. I would still feel weird .
I hated that glue. It just did not work as well. And I miss the smell. As long as you didn’t huff the damn stuff you were fine.
I forgot to ask what kind of glue to you use on these plastic models now? I remember the old Testors model glue that you could get loopy if you used it too long!
You say that you want to build a model car? What happened to that "subscription" Ford GT model (that YOU were building)?
Karyn, the 68 looks great. I agree painting, as with all models, is the hardest part. After all, it IS the first thing that you see and there is NO scale in paint. I never had much success with paint. Sometimes letting it sit for a week made little "drying/curing" difference'
My first dream car? I wonder if there is a nice 56 chevy Belair hardtop kit? ;-)
I love/hate painting. Gloss car finishes are hell. Living hell.
