Ok Here comes another THANK YOU I have an elderly neighbor, He has multiple sclerosis and has survived 68 years. He thought HE could stall this… he told me “ Well ya know in theory it’s easy” I chased his butt back into his house… watched your video… and my Buddy has A/C in his living room bedroom. Seriously Thank you.
Glad the video was able to help :)
Just finished installing this unit myself, saving $1000 over having someone else install it. Your video gave me the confidence to get the job done. Thanks!!!
Awesome! Glad it worked out for you
Great Vid, you prob sold 100s of these for senville, i hope they send u a thank you
This is what i was looking for! Putting same unit in my cottage soon and this is direct and to the the point!
Installing one this week in my cottage. How are you liking yours? Any issues?
Good job really very professionally done😊
I installed one of these but in 9000 btu for my buddy. Works like a charm!!!
Yeah, they are really nice units - a great value for sure!!
Thank you for this video. Were I live contractors will not touch anything they don't sell, and they will sell you a single room 12K unit for anywhere from $5K to $9K Canadian or about $4-7K USD. It's a complete rip-off, the mark-up on the install is unreal. I'm hoping to install one of these Senville units in our bedroom and videos like yours are very useful!
Nice install Joe!
Thanks for all the info.
Looking to install a mini split in bedroom. Could i mount the compressor unit in a garage? Hoa requires compressor to be hidden, a 35 ft freon line run.
It would not be a good idea to mount the condensing unit inside of any enclosed room or building. It needs a good supply of air to condense The vapor refrigerant back into a liquid
Hi..earlier in the begining of the video you mention to drain opening is a missing closing cap. How did you close it after all? Thanks
Great question! The instructions were wrong. I emailed Senville and they confirmed it is capped at the factory and the manual is wrong.
So I just purchased a 24k BTU ductlessaire unit and wanted to ask if doing the 30amp disconnect and dual 30amp in the breaker panel is correct? The manual doesn't tell you what size to use for fusing at all.
You should see a "min fuse" rating in the manual or on the unit. Off the top of my head, 30 A is probably fine for a 24k but unit though, but definitely verify
Did the mounting brackets come with the unit?
They did not, separate purchase
Hello, I just bought that unit yesterday, but I think I made a bad connection or something. and when I turned it on after an hour it started leaking inside 😩 any recommendations? Thank you..
I assume you mean leaking water, correct? Make sure the drain line is sloped properly since water only flows downhill. I could see the joint in the drain line leaking if not properly sealed as well. If I recall I think I ran a lot of electrical tape around the joint on mine
Nice job, I have a few questions, where did you get nitrogen? is it expensive? Also, why did you go with Senville? I'm looking at a 12k BTU Leto for my bedroom and just wanted to hear other people's reasons for picking Senville. Thanks.
I got my nitrogen bottle from a local welding gas supply house. You should be able to get it anywhere they sell compressed gases. This unit was on sale when I purchased it and it appears to be made by Midea, like most of the other units in this class. It has proved to be a solid unit so far - no issues other than the remote control not playing nice with Wi-Fi/Alexa control. I am getting more and more fed up with Alexa anyway so I just use the remote.
Hi. Great Video. I have a small 1.5 car garage (~400 sq ft) I'd love to cool. Can you recommend a unit that is super-easy to install that runs on a 110 v AC outlet (instead of being hard-wired)? My budget is $1500.00 but I'd love to be closer to $1000.00 or less.
I don't know of any mini-split units that simply plug into a wall outlet. You might be better off with a permanently installed wall unit (installs into opening in wall, instead of a window).
How many sq.ft is your garage.
I have a 21x20 garage. Not sure what size to get. 12k or 18k. During the summer it always gets above 100f.
Size wise it says 12k, but if I bring in a hot car, or garage opens. I’ll let the extra size to get back down to temp.
I would definitely suggest a 1.5 or 2 ton. Keep in mind your garage is probably poorly insulated and may, as you pointed out, contain hot equipment. My 1.5 ton / 18k BTU will bring my ~500 sq ft garage in south Florida from the high 80s/low 90s into the 70s in about 15 mins or so. I've gotten the garage as cold as 68 degrees in July/August, but that is on "turbo" mode.
Joe, I have a simple question. Watched the video yesterday. I had a 24,000 BTU installed this spring in my workshop. Works great, except I can't figure out why the air handler never shuts off? Is it supposed to run constantly. I can't find a setting for that in the manual. I'm old so maybe doing something wrong LOL
Thanks in advance
It's funny you say that. I noticed the same thing with mine but have not tried to look into it. It is kind of annoying I agree
@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC I've looked thru the manual, but may have missed something about it. Thanks, If you find it first let me know.
@@WoodWize54 Yes, these things are designed to run continuously with variable speed inverter motors. Just let to do its thing and once the set temperature is reached, it just tops off the recirculated air. As long as you don't stick your head at the exit of airhandler, it shouldn't matter at all. I have MrCool and that thing is so quiet, I have to check several times when I installed if that thing is even working but now after 1yr, I frown at friends houses when their central AC turns with blowers.
@@yaxlu Thanks for the reply. Yes very quiet. I put a pc of painters tape on it to see if it's running.
How is your electric bill after you have installed this mini split?
Honestly have not noticed it go up at all. Installing a hybrid water heater dropped the bill by so much, I don't even notice this mini split on the bill
What happened to your heat pump stuff ? - I think it was you ...
Sorry, probably not me - not much need for heat in South Florida :)
I just remembered someone messing with heat pumps in a garage. I think it was air to water for hot water. @@JoesGarageProductionsLLC
@@SolarPV. Ah ok gotcha. Yeah that wasn't me. I did do a video of a heat pump water heater a while back.
