  • Dorian Yates speaks about the common mistakes people make when training: "The nutrition and the training and the supplementation - It all goes together. Most people would be more effective if they went to the gym only 2 or 3 times for an hour,
but they put 100% into those workouts, both physically and mentally. That's when you're gonna progress consistently."

This humble man is my fucking ispiration, when I was young back in 90s and now when I come back to train hard after a cervical injury that made me leave the sport at the best moment and fall into a fucking depression. Back in september 2018 I returned to train after a long time fucked up, and I do it with the same motivation that I had at the age of 23 when I was injured, now I'm 41yo. Thank you man

I agree with all of this. I myself go to the gym 3 days/week, and my workouts are anywhere from 60-80 mins long. HOWEVER, having said that, the reason why professional bodybuilders are as big and as muscular as they are, including DY, is because they consume probably around 10k calories a day and consume steroids. Without steroids, most normal human beings aren't going to be anywhere remotely that big or muscular, regardless of how much or how intensely they train.

He's right. Training everyday intensely for the layman without drugs isn't advisable.

What does slowing down the negative mean?

alex69 say you’re doing a bench press, people tend to just drop the bar to their chest and bring it up quickly. Instead bring it down slowly in a controlled manner, creating contraction of the lats and triceps. It acts like a spring and then bring it up in full force.
The same with a bicep curl, people curl it up to their chest quickly and then drop it. Instead bring it up and then control it on the way down. This keeps the muscles under constant tension. He explains all this in his other videos.

try negative sets for a real burn , get to failure on a normal set and then get a partner to lift the weight for you to the top position , then you slowly control the drop....... after about 3 fucking reps the muscle feels like it`s going to catch fire!! , there WILL be grunts screams and yells
