Fun fact if you have a pc and can use console commands you can go back through the drain pipe and tag clip through the debris and get back into the institute after it blows up without a mod. I just used a mod to make a settlement inside the institute.
Fun fact: I left my power amour in the institute when I blew it up, went back to the blown up institute and saw a floating suit of power amour.
I killed father too after talking to him, I used Kellogg pistol as sort of irony that the gun that was used to kill his mother killed him as well

This is a minor spoiler, but Shaun said that Kellogg wasn't supposed to kill Nate/Nora. I don't know how or why he knows this (maybe his predecessor told him) but it's a good enough excuse for me.

If you go to the C.I.T ruins after the explosion, it always starts a radiation storm for me.

This is like this because the interior cell of the institute is inaccessible after the explosion so there is no reason for the makers to make a post-detonation version of said interior cell. The reason nothing will spawn in there is the same as why it hasn't changed.
It would be so cool though, extra detail needs to be added!

I did it. He'll say some special lines. However he gives you the 1st one so you can only get 9. If you have them when he gives you the quest he'll say good detective work and proceed with the Quest

The bomb didn't "go off", it was just the visual effect and the location was changed into "post bomb", deleting the ground and most items. Bethesda engines still aren't able to work big things like that, so they're always just visual elements. Far back as Oblivion, where Dagon was just a big moving model and not an actual actor/npc.

and certain companions can die if you make them hate you enough, like paladin danse if you're enemies with the brotherhood.

This is how I lost my alien blaster and broadsider, left em along with a bunch of other stuff in a damn chest in the institute, forgot until after I blew it up only to realize it isn't anywhere near intact.

The institute is still “intact” because you cannot visit it, and are not supposed to visit it, after the explosion normally. The little darker you mentioned was because of the time, maybe evening. Institute lighting is based on the surface’s day-night cycle.

Well, are you really surprised that nothing happened with the interior? The game is designed so that when you blow the bomb, the ground changes shape, since you can go there - but there is no way you can visit the institute again after having blown it to pieces.
This is why I hate cheats - they break immersion immensly, and are probably only good if you want to replicate an effect in a toolset or something.
No dislike, but if there was a 'duh' button on this video, it would have been pressed so hard.

Actually, it depends which cheat and how you use it. Cheats *can* improve your immersion into the game. Simple example.
Nate, a man from the army, lvl 1 ? Not able to shoot properly on immobile animals ?
Yet can be explained by not living for 200 y.
Was more obvious with skyrim, being an adventurer, yet lvl 1. I've never understand why in games you start at lvl 1, or regenerate hp by eating, and so much more immersion breaking stuffs, it would take ages to tell, so you can actually use cheats to improve immersion (like start lvl 15 for example)

When I went back after blowing it, I found a suit of X-01 floating in midair. Had to noclip up to it to get it.

I also did the same thing but there was no cit ruins just a big crater but if you go to Boston airport after you blew up the prydwen it will have the wrecked prydwen as well as a few wrecked planes

This glitch goes through the games actually.
In fallout 3 if you use console commands you can still enter Raven Rock.
In fallout NV if you also use console commands you can still enter the brotherhood bunker.

I used coc to get back into the institute, but I left father alive (obviously to be killed by the explosion) and he was at his desk and friendly with idle dialog from before betraying the institute.

Yeah they didn't make it look like blown up since you weren't supposed to get in there in any way after nuking it, not to mention that technically there was no "inside" anymore as it would have been completely destroyed, turned into crater and then flooded. But yeah, nice to see how the ground just disappeared from under you and area turned into crater during the explosion.

If you blow up the institute, there is nothing to go back to. I was expecting for it to keep you where you was in the water. The institute is now just a giant hole in the ground!!! It was awesome actually see it blow up in first person though!! 👏🏾
It’s a separate cell, so it would only take more coding to make it destroyed when you would never see it again without cheats or console commands

If you didn't kill Father early and let him "die on his bed" and you revisit the institute with cheat, he will stand up like a healthy person and congratulate you for your success.
