0:23 That must have been a hell of a sturdy umbrella.. still standing strong after nuclear war and blocking a guy with power armor.
At 4:38, there's actually a holotape or note (I can't remember which) in that little shack that gives backstory to the couple whose remains you find. I believe it implies they were out there before the bombs dropped and is kind of depressing (like most notes and holotapes you find).
Just another small piece of world building that really fits the mood of the franchise.
To the west, outside of the map, maybe 200 m past the border, you can find two old cargo ships, reminiscent of the 2 cargo ships you can actually find in the map. The weird thing is that they are completely unique models found nowhere else on the map(not even far harbor) complete with physics, mission containers, and a mission activation codebox(one of those 2x2 missing texture boxes). There are two of them, and there is an island next to them with a few living quarters, a reused vault 111 floor door, a unique fishing boat, and a couple other things. It looks like they were supposed to be apart of some grand quest, but never got completed and was put outside of the map where no one could reach it. It is kind of sad to see those two unique, almost completed cargo ship models just sitting there, unused and unseen, and the amount of work put into it, just to be scrapped. Maybe it was a part of that scrapped underwater mission and vault?
That would definetly be exciting. How would they get in? An airlock? And what would the quest be for?
How did you do it without your game crashing
Possibly for the quest that was turned into far harbor

The many, many people on the barge homes brings up an interesting thought. I noticed that there are no enemies out at sea. No milarks not even Marlark Kings and there bodies suggest that they are vary comfortable out at sea. At first I thought it was because it was better to make Read only memory sets then to put out enemies that may never be come across. And that could still be true.
But why risk the ocean? Even if you are desperate and a skilled sailor taking that big of a gamble seems counterintuitive. But what if these families somehow knew that there isn’t anything out there? And that all the monsters and whatever else prefer to stay on land

Imagine building all the cool underwater terrain and just being like 'ok let's make it super murky'
For some reason the under water scares me so much I can't even get into it usually lmao. In real life oceans scare me, just translates over to the game, murky and creepy and uhg.
Rin Kaenbyou I agree oceans, lakes and all watery stuff is terrifying, especially if they are deep and murky. Less scary if you have diving gear, but otherwise it's terrifying. Especially in games where you need to go underwater. Subnautica isn't that bad for example because you can build Submarines and it's not all dark and murky water. However, other games like Stranded Deep (I don't like it anymore because it's recently become glitchy and crap.) is more scary as it has no subs, no diving suits, it's dark, and it's murky.
Rin Kaenbyou omg SAME even tho in most video games they don't even have enemies, it's still creepy af
Oh my, I concur. Going underwater in Ark for the first time? I wouldn't do it for forever.

I honestly agree. Maybe a DLC that allows you to play in the pre-war world and explore atleast some of the map. It could even give some decent equipment that you wouldn't normally get early game before going in the vault. Maybe it could take place a fee days before the bombs dropped.
"Cait won't stop throwing grenades... I wonder what's in this box... More grenades!!!!"
The aquaboy perk should have had another level that let's you swim a lot faster
There's a Wasteland Survival Guide book somewhere that gives you a permanent swim speed bonus
I wonder if the armor that improves movement speed affects swimming speed.
Why? There's no reason to ever go in water.
You know there is something that bothers me now that I have seen this, there are no military ships at all. We have tanks & apcs & such but no ships

ok yeah fair enough but its not exactly a modern warship like we should see as there is a navy drydock in boston ( irl not in game )
core unit We can assume that upon the war starting, the Navy was mobilized to the pacific (Where the largest battles would likely happen)

I actually went back to Libertalia and looked at it. I realized that the brick pillar in Libertalia was a mooring platform for larger ships like the cargo ship that makes up the largest structure in the area. If you stand on top of it you'll see the 4 large iron rope holders that helped hold the ship close to the shore. In fact, the sunken cargo ship is still moored to the platform, and of course the reason why it's stuck so deep into the ground underwater is to keep the floating ship from making the platform topple over. I actually think that the other brick platform that the small floating settlement was built around was also a smaller mooring platform. It also could be that the metal structure where another settlement was built was maybe a future mooring site, and the metal structure with the light was a sort of construction marker for it
