  • The 2019 Cadillac XT4 is the all-new small SUV from General Motors that they hope will bring younger buyers to the brand. Sold as a Sport or Premium trim, this new XT4 competes with the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, the Lexus NX and others. The power comes from a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 237hp. The power goes to either the front wheels or optional AWD through a new 9-speed automatic transmission. This 2.0L engine is all-new as is the transmission. The interior is fitted with a new infotainmsnt system, which replaces the CUE system. It is controlled through a new centre control wheel, similar to Audi cars. the XT4 is a small crossover with room for 5-passengers and Cadillac claims it has the best rear legroom in this class. The all-new Cadillac XT4 handles well and looks sharp, which will get many potential buyers interested. Cadillac is starting to redo the entire line with a new vehicle every six months for two years.

    Just took delivery of a 'Premium Luxury'. Very well thought out vehicle! Everything works seamlessly - infotainment a big step up from Cue- seats very comfortable- and the car feels and looks bigger than it is on a 109" wheelbase. They 'covered all bases' in my opinion with the XT4. If you are in the market for a compact SUV definitely check it out!

    At the end you said that Cadillac includes 4 years of service. I don't think this is the case anymore. I could be wrong but they have scaled it back to one or two visits for all 2019 MY vehicles.

    It's so funny that Zack mentioned that about the tail lights. 'The' first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it driving away from 0:31 to 0:36, I immediately thought of the CTS wagon.
    The moment I heard you say it was a new four-cylinder unit, I thought "really? How different could it really be?"
    I'm impressed. I don't like the size of it. But, I do like it.

    Another numb plastic laden American car that's a 6 dressed up as a 9. This thing that will look dated in 2 years, and will depreciate incredibly fast as well. Better and cheaper alternative would be a new VW Tiguan or pay more for a Audi Q3 or Lexus NX which will age well and hold their value much better. I really see no unique or interesting appeal to this Cadillac or nearly all General Motors vehicles.

    • @johndessire399
      @johndessire399 Před 6 lety +18

      Lol, the lexus nx with predeator grill will age well? That hilarious. Also where the plastics that is apparently all over the interior?

    • @DCassidy42
      @DCassidy42 Před 6 lety +4

      The NX won't age as poorly as this thing. I'm not a huge fan of the nx it either. GM hasn't really ever made any vehicles that hold up to the test of time very well, aside from the exterior design of 1960s camaros and corvettes. The germans tend to do a great job of creating conservative yet timeless designs that age very well. ie 2006 Colbalt SS vs 2006 VW GTI.
      By plastic laden, I more specifically mean it's features a lot of poor quality plastics that make it feel cheap when you touch it. The GM sourced plastics are far more budget feeling in contrast to competitors. GM also does a lot of fake metal plastics and shiny plastics that just look and feel cheap, and in photos and video it doesn't really come across. My mom has a had multiple C-class Mercedes and recently moved to a Cadillac XT5 and the materials are disappointing in contrast.

That's pretty much the same as Audi q3, BMW x1, Mercedes GLA and Cadillac xt4 is more of an x3 or GLC competitor when you start filling it with options except that it's slightly smaller but still has great cargo space and more than sufficient legroom for rear passengers. Also, it's nothing wrong with giving people different options so they can customize their new ride all the way up to 55k or buy a base model for 36k. It's a great car and just a note, I'm coming from Europe and my price comparison is probably a bit different for USA.

That way GM doesn't get caught in Trump's tariff wars.
