With slumping sales in America, Cadillac looks to address the main issue with their current US lineup, a lack of crossovers. For 2019, the new from the ground-up XT4 looks to address that issue. Built off a #Cadillac exclusive platform that is small, yet strong. The XT4 represents the first of many changes coming to Cadillac in the next two years. Compared to many rivals, the #XT4 has FAR more interior space, a distinctive design, high-end features, and standard turbo power. While its starting price of $35,700 is very reasonable, be prepared for some sticker shock when you spec out a fully loaded Sport or Premium Luxury trim.

Cadillac deserves a lot of credit, all their cars are great looking and completely different from other GM vehicles. I love Cadillac because you can tell it's a Cadillac from a mile away, while other brands all blend together.
These new Crossovers are impressive, now I wanna see a new CTS, ATS and XTS

Your intro is a breath of fresh air, Sofyan. Masterpiece review, sleek and truly outstanding car. I believe a lot of buyers will have their eyes on this car, though the prices are a bit on the high side.
As always, an in-depth review that highlights the very important points. Keep doing what you do, Sofyan. There's never a dull moment in your reviews. Again, your intro is top notch. Well done!

Wow! I'm quite surprised and ultimately impressed to see Cadillac not only using minimal part sharing (with other GM products), but actually developing an all-new platform that isn't shared with any other Chevy or GMC crossovers! Quite impressive indeed.
All in all, the XT4 should compete and hold its own very well in its segment. The styling looks great, the technology is top-notch, and the cabin appears to be pretty spacious.
From one car reviewer to another, keep up the great work, Sofyan!

First off, this is the most well done First Drive review I've seen of this vehicle to date. Well done. My wife currently has a full size 5 passenger crossover and she's looking to downsize as we will be empty-nester's next year. The sub-compacts are too small. This vehicle looks to be the perfect size. Smaller but, not too small. The Premium Luxury package has all the right features and comes in at the mid to upper 40K price range which exactly what we are willing to pay. I don't imagine Cadillac will sell many in the mid 50K price range.

They need to be basic safety a la the seatbelt, abs, airbags, etc. It's especially a huge slap in the face when your starting out with a $50k car and those basic items are in an options package.

Ervin0310 lol most newer vehicles have bright low beams that blind you at night if you’re dumb enough to look into them. It might just be the angle that you’re looking into their lights that’s blinding you as well. If you’re at eye level or below you’ll definitely be blinded at night.
I have experienced this before while driving in front of a Escalade since they have a 5 level vertically stacked LED low beam setup, literally 4 or 5 different heights of light displayed. They also sit higher off the ground than most vehicles on the road so if you’re in a car it’s possible you’re exposed to it’s brightest beams of light. I hope the new Escalade has adaptive low beams as standard or at least as an option.

LOVE the way this car looks. Inside and out. So glad to see the updated infotainment is snappy with nice graphics. Cadillac, literally take this interior and place it in your next small sedan. The ATS drives great but that interior is a no-no. Cut and paste this interior as-is PLEASE!

I like that certain things have been upgraded in quality like the window buttons and infotainment buttons. Interior quality over all seems to be really good and more user friendly. Regardless Cadillac will sell a ton of these little guys. Considering its size I think it’s very well proportioned over the bigger XT5

I’ve been driving Mercedes and my wife drives an audi last year we bought our 3rd ATS honestly the new caddies are more car for the money than anyone. They drive at the same level as any German competition and blew the infinti we test drove out of the water . Got this when I brought ATS in for 35k check up and got this as a rental. Fair to say it will be my wife’s next car. Extremely affordable (for luxury cars) soooo comfortable def sporty and beautiful honestly I wish it were a little higher horsepower but other than that it’s amazing

I agree, it's odd that Cadillac doesn't have more standard safety features. CR says Cadillac has the best self driving system, so you know they have it. Toyota makes this stuff standard on nearly all their cars now.

Straight forward review as always, I actually like the looks of this one much better than the SRX, I have only been in the XT5 once and I remember liking it as well. You can tell it is a Cadi inside and out, even though the interior is different than the SRX and their previous platform vehicles. This is more along the size of a Chevy Equinox than the XT5 is which will be closer to the miss named Blazer when it comes out.
Luxury Compact Crossovers are the fastest growing segment in the industry and Cadi had to dip their American toes in the hot water. I do like the 2.0L Turbos that GM has put in some of their other vehicles and even though this is redesigned from the ground up I am sure that it will meet or exceed those other ones. I know that the 2.0L in the 18-19 Equinox can tow 3500 lbs, I bet this one can do the same.
Was kind of rude of Roman to interrupt even though he was trying to be funny/sarcastic like he was in his recent review of the McClaren 720s, but I know Craig has his own unique sense of humor too and that looked awkward lol... Could have been edited out, but interesting that it was left in.
