Those forests look absolutely amazing, well done! I really like the way the hedges came out, they look very natural now and blend in with the trees perfectly.
All your work is incredible, previously I've commented on your jungle terrain, even pm'd you privately about it, but these woodland bases MUST be your finest hour.
That's now three times I've watched this, and still haven't had enough of it. When you put all those bases together towards the end of the video, it's simply perfection!
Warriorking1963 Thank you x3. :)
Those look fantastic! I love the colours and variation in the foliage.
damn that's some amazing work. I think the variety of trees truly made the project shine
Thats really impressive not only in scale but detail , Well done !
Very nicely done. The hedges look much much better.
Very nicely rendered modules. I'm currently assembling very similar units for use in my 30mm Seven Years War-era wargames. Thank you for the tips on creating effective wild shrubs with lichen.
I think these are the best crafted forests Iv seen!
It looks amazing. I particularly like the second "grove" you've shown.
very nice work, great and dense looking forest patches; also like the details like the tree stomps that are integrated between the trees.
nice work on the bushes the final result turned out very nice ;)
Top notch work as always. Turned out really great and the view with all the trees together makes it blend so beautifully. I was sceptical about this one when you origanally said 200+ Noch trees in the first video, but it has come together really spectaculary. Awesome work on the hedges. Looks alot different to the original concept hedges you tossed around. Seems like alot of placement time went into their construction. Awesome effort. i hope the owner is really pleased.. i would be.
great work! always keen to learn about your latest projekts :)
Those forests look amazing! Most battlefields I play on have only about a dozen trees on them. Playing amid hundreds of trees would be so cool!
this looks pretty awesome!
Looks great!
Now THAT is a forest! Well done! 8-)
Its beautiful.
nicely done!
Espetacular!
It looks very natural.
very nice!!
Very nice set ups.
Thanks. :)
Having seen this demonstration, I am inspired to have a go and make my own forest set. As this will be my first project, I do have one or two questions :) 1) How are the bases prepared before flocking/Grassing? 2) Do you treat them after completion to protect the piece?
Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more projects in the future.
Love the way these have been made, very realistic. who cares about movement when you got forests like these ;0)
in 2009, your forest colour, that looked like dead leaves scattered all over the base, would've added so much more to your base although it does look good even without it :)
That sure is a lot of trees.
Some of the best edges I've ever seen. So the trick is take some lichens, cover the with glue and use flock over them? (by flock I mean the sand-like green stuff, not the static grass, am I wrong?)
could you give me a list of your top 5 terrain craft item suppliers please? would be much appreciated, just found your channel and love it!
In 2009, u made a new forest floor colour, which ha dead leaves, logs, and whatnot. That would've looked awesome. :)
Do those Noch trees comes with the foliage? Or did you make your own for those? I like the looks, and have been experimenting lately with foam rubber blended and painted, but I wanted to find a way to make clump foliage cheaply and easily.
These look incredible, gorgeous. Are you available for future contracts? I need some terrain for Bolt Action, kind of a fall early winter mountain theme for Eastern Front WWII battles.
+Luke Ruzinsky Thank you for that. :) Right now I am booked for quite a while. When I can take another project on, I'll of course mention it, but it could be a while. :)
How do you ship those beautiful scenery pieces?
Wow...looks great! Being new to this what did you use as a base to glue the trees to? It looks thin and strong.
I used hardboard - 1/8" thick. It's a great basing material but watch for warping. The terrain tutor has a video on warping that is good to watch and I talk about it a little in one of my Patreon monthly columns - Modular Boards - The foundation.
You can find it on my Patreon Blog at www.patreon.com/TerranScapes Scroll down a bit to find the column. It's a recent one. :) Hope that helps a little.
What is the base colour of flock, what brand?
What did you use for the bases?
Hi, thank you for great videos. Can you show us how to make a single tree from zero?
I plan on beginning to make some tutorials very soon. I expect tree making will be among some of the early topics to take on. ;)
Whats the deal with the white/brown roots on the birch trees?
Hi ~ Im going to be doing a Rivendell village display ~ I was wondering where did the trees come from ?
Nice project. I would love to see it once you are underway. :) This collection of trees is a bit of a grab bag from different manufacturers. If you visit Hobbylinc.com and search under 'trees' they have a wide selection to choose from.
***** Thanks for the link to that site. Damn great prices!!
please which is the company of the green grass on the base?
Hmm... Not sure if I remember but I think it is Noch spring green?
loved your forest but what happened to your dead, and living leafy bases, because that really looked nice, but add them on top of say your forest would really look more realistic and I think it really will add a lot more but great work nonetheless :)
Sorry, who makes the bases?
how do you spell "Nock"?
In the willow-meads of Tasarinan I walked in the
Spring.
Ah! the sight and the smell of the Spring in Nan-
tasarion!
And I said that was good.
I wandered in Summer in the elm-woods of Ossiriand.
Ah! the light and the music in the Summer by the
Seven Rivers of Ossir!
And I thought that was best.
To the beeches of Neldoreth I came in the Autumn.
Ah! the gold and the red and the sighing of leaves in the
Autumn in Taur-na-neldor!
It was more than my desire.
To the pine-trees upon the highland of Dorthonion I
climbed in the Winter.
Ah! the wind and the whiteness and the black branches
of Winter upon Orod-na-Thön!
My voice went up and sang in the sky.
And now all those lands lie under the wave,
And I walk in Ambaróna, in Tauremorna, in Aldalómë,
In my own land, in the country of Fangorn,
Where the roots are long,
And the years lie thicker than the leaves
In Tauremornalómë.
1:32 TREE, two, one :-)
Hi!! I'm really new to the hobbie...how did you made base? Do you have like video showing how to create the base?
I don't have a video on making them. They are 1/8" hardboard I cut with a jigsaw and sanded down the edges to taper them. I have written some 'articles' about applying texture, painting and flocking bases on my Patreon site. Those are public posts and you can find the list of columns here: www.patreon.com/posts/monthly-columns-23844430 I hope that helps a little. :)
Oh god. Tippy Mc Lean XD
