"One will win and one will smell better." Still laughing. :)
"This may look like peasant level crafting but...it will also probably be that"...🤣🤣🤣🤣
sums up this channel :D
Really it seems like with every project you just get better and better. Seeing growth like this in motion is what makes this one of my favorite channels.
thanks :)
The crunch that the bark makes when they cut it is a very satisfying sound.
I felt that too
kinda made me want a kit kat bar.
lol thats the best part!
Could almost call the channel bark craft
I'm always surprised, how from a messy and dusty chunk of cardboard and glue you guys come up with something wonderful.
Anyone else see a new Bard Craft video and automatically click like? :D
The little mushrooms are so clever! Thank you for another great build and as always a fun and entertaining video. You make me laugh while teaching me something (with great satisfying sounds)! Thank you!
I love your accent, it’s almost better than cutting noises!
This is an excellent example of why I watch your videos. I learn nice techniques and can have a laugh with the humor.
Another amazing video. Thank you for your inspiring builds. We have used a lot of your techniques in our own builds although I still cannot handle a large kitchen knife. We started our channel largely because of you. We would love your opinion of what we are doing. Thank you for the support and keep crafting cool things.
I agree... Great channel!
I also like it when Jacob is there... Good stuff
@@kinzy1969 he and his hubby should make more videos together
For the wood parts you used such as bark, roots, and twigs, you really should bake them before using them in terrain. Wrap them up in foil with a few pin pricks through it on the top and stick in the oven and wait until you first see smoke and pull it out.
This kills a lot of the bacterial issues along with anything else that might be inside and fully dries it out so that you don't have issues with it rotting on you.
I think he addressed this topic in one of his videos. And if my memory serves me will, he also mention that he is aware of that fact since he is biologist
@@tiny-grimes With a lot of the videos, it is something that, probably, should be repeated when commenting about gathered material from outdoors. I've been doing it for a while with mine, but every so often, I see some new crafter or someone using stuff in basing who doesn't know and then freaks out about rotting stuff and their bases growing things over the models, forcing them to throw out expensive ones...
@@AzraelThanatos I agree that it is worth repeating often.
That is a good point, I hope it's dry enough where I live. So far none of my crafts have taken any time based damage
@@BardsCraft Dry doesn't always mean that it's cleared out the issue. Paint and such are often enough to feed some of the things that might grow inside it and then it tends to be a problem that can spread from that terrain to other things. Rot and mold being the worst things with it, then you might have any insects or such that got into it...
Truly excellent, sir!
I love seeing more folks use varying undertones and washes to give terrain a more natural appearance. Well done.
I dont know exactly why but your videos are very satisfying. Good work!
8:56 - looks like synthetic winterizer/padding polyester. I think it is a right name. It is used in soft furniture
synthetic & wool filters from assorted air conditioners, clothes dryers & many vacuums also.
It's a polyfiber pad, more accurately. You can get sheets of the stuff for filtering fish tanks.
Top notch, mate. I like those little mushrooms. The bark is really a versatile building material. Your video makes me want to go foraging in the forest with a large bag to collect natural stuff for use in making 28mm terrain. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, --Bo Ahlgren
Nice video! I believe that the "spider web" you asked about are from dust filters. Most commonly used for vacuum cleaners, right behind the dust bag, before the air goes through the fan/impeller.
I love the shrooms! Very effective!
I really like the fact you use what nature provides you and make it work very well. You always say pesant level crafting but Thats bunk. Your a wonderful creator for table top crafts.
You never disappoint!. I love your Scorpion build!.
I miss your productions. I hope you come back.
I could recommend felt wool. Bolt Action tabletop guys use these for smoke and fire. It comes in different colors and can be bought for a few bucks on ebay.
Wow. I do masters of the universe dioramas and this will help me a lot.
Been watching your channel for a while. I love the humor, and the simple, homemade approach you have to your builds. You guys deserve are super creative, and I'm glad that I stumbled upon your channel! Have you ever done a rope bridge over a chasm? If not, I would LOVE to see it done!
Glad to have you here as well! I did an almost rope bridge from spruce in the Dragon's Gorge video, if I did a rope bridge I would probably just switch out the BBQ-stick (supporting the planks) to a hemp rope. I might try this one for some highly vertical terrain I'm envisioning for Frostgrave.
Cotton balls or the cotton off ear swabs works really well for spider webs.
I like your approach to washes. I also make mine as I go. And sometime an old one rolls into a new wash. Some, like the strong tone, are good for consistency. The recipes are different too. Sometime I add matte medium when I don’t want it to bleed and sometime alcohol to bleed.
I really like the vibes the webs add!
Good episode. Stretching out used dryer sheets make good spider webbing too
I believe the material you used for the webbing is Polyfil, which is typically used for stuffing in things like pillows and stuffed animals. A dryer sheet tends to be the go to for most tabletop crafters.
Love your videos and I can see you learn and improve with every video
Nice and simple! I really like the roots and the webs
Once again N absolutely great video. Well done. Whenever anyone asks me for tips about making dioramas I direct them to your CZcams page. Great job Bard. 👍😁
Not sure what those cob-web things are; perhaps some kind of air conditioner filter? Another thing you could use, though, is left-over dryer sheets; just pull them really thin and they look like cobwebs. Plus, for you aromatically inclined crafters, they smell nice!
great video as always
The pine bark is a great idea
The trees look mad!! Good shotcalling!!
It's great to watch you channel grow.
Really cool stuff. I’ve seen people add paint to the filler, so that if it ever chips, the damage doesn’t show up as bright white areas. Thank you.
This is super cool! I like that you added spider eggs and webs. Really completes the dark forest look.
Now for a themed monster :x
Perhaps a giant spider. But I'm overflowing with project ideas now
Looks amazing!
Great build!!! Olive pits make great 'eggs'.
Thanks, noted
Your spider web material is cotton/polyester batting. You can buy it at fabric stores, or get it for free as a packing material surrounding small fragile items. :)
Good inspiration. Thanks!
Oh wow, this is awesome.
For webs, a used dryer sheet is great. takes glue and paint surprisingly well. Just pull them out of the dryer when your laundry is done. I start with unscented, so I don't know if there is a lingering smell with the scented types.
While I watch you in progress, I don't really agree with your choices of color and materials, but there is no arguing with your final product- your terrain is fabulous! You have convinced me to try using coffee grounds and dill for ground cover. Thumbs up!
Coffee grounds work well.
That looked very cool. You and Jacob make a very good team. Great job, guys.
Such grand Work! Another of your "many" videos in my favs! Thanks Man, hope your well!!
To use dill you can also grind the dill till it's a powder then add dye or wash then dry and regrind it to get differnet colors
I'm wondering how much the official stuff is. I bought some recently from a hobby store, stuff that'd usually be used for model railroads and it wasn't bad and doesn't seem to cost much. I can't imagine it being more than actual dill.
love this a lot
You can get that "mystery cobweb material" in sheets at your hardware store, one use of it is grease filter in kitchen extractor hoods.
Is there a Brand name and are you in the U.S. ?.
@@Anaris10 Just look up Universal Grease Filter for Cooker Hood, it is a very common product available everywhere. www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Cooker-Grease-Filter-Extractor/dp/B00RAOB24M/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?dchild=1&keywords=Universal+Kitchen+Extractor+Fan+Filter+Anti-Grease+Polyester+Fibre&qid=1585955757&s=kitchen&sr=1-1-fkmr0
@@jezeski2011 edited
@@jezeski2011 I'm sure you can find those in any kitchen center or hardware store. I literally use a distributor brand that I picked up with my groceries.
In an earlier video, you mentioned how you are sometimes running out of glue sticks for your builds.
This got me thinking, and tell me if it's a terrible idea, but, couldn't you dilute the pva/white glue and then dip toiletpaper or paper towels in it, and wrap it around the sticks?
It should add some mass, conform to the texture of the sticks and make them more rigid, in theory at least.
I'd like to hear or see more about this. I've seen one or two pictures showing this and I wonder how it'd look. it's basically like a paper mache.
AWESOME!
You are my kids' favorite crafting channel. ....and I am their father. ...me.
Wyloch's Armory well the good thing that your kids know about “conflict of interest” :D
These are nice additions for the buildings that you make..I love the green it makes it pop and of course the tufts make it more realistic. The eggs were a nice addition as well as those cute mushrooms..I think you could have thinned the webs out a bit more to make them more realistic they were a bit bulky ,but I really liked these projects and watching the video 😀
The webbing stuff appears to be the polyfiber stuff used in aquariums as filters. Search for: polyfiber aquarium cut to fit filter pads, or similar. It's similar to the polyfiber that Woodland Scenics makes to fill out foliage and brush on train scenery, but it's pressed into these compact sheets.
given his resourcefulness, at first glance I thought "whaaat?? he's going to use tic-tacs for the eggs?"
Would not be that surprised to be honest
Awesome!
you can use used dryer sheets for spider webs. just pull it apart a little.
Very cool and chill project to make! :) I always love the muschrooms!
It looks really scary!
Love your work 😋
Also, the thing you asked for in the video is a filter used in computers, vacuum cleaners and such.
I think the material is polyfibre batting, for the inside of jackets/cushions/gambesons.
Okay watched quite a few of your videos now. I have to ask what are all the different levels of crafting(obviously peasant is the lowest) and how are you sharpening that kitchen knife? that thing just seems to slice through anything! Keep up the great work really love it.
Dryer sheets also work well for webbing.
the spider web material is known as fibra tape here in the states its used for drywall instalation
Dryer sheets can also be used to make webs. I think either wyloch or bmc used those.
Yes but only used ones. They are more separated when they have gone through a drying cycle,
I agree. I have had great results with used dryer sheets that you pull and tear apart. They are hard to glue on, but perfect once you do get them attached.
I love your work bro
is beautiful XD.....
Nice builds. Also your hair looks nice.
The army painter grass would look better as a moss or something the one you guys made looks nicer as a grass.
An awesome build bud. You could probably make some money packaging your Forrest finds and selling them.
Okay one of three things either that bark is super soft and easy to cut number 2 that knife has + 5 sharpness and can cut through anything or you're just the strongest person in the world because I've tried cutting through bark with a knife like that and it did not go so well
The web was amazing detail to add.
Have you considered also using a 3d printing pen to add small details or make extra props ?
I use a 3 d printer for that
@@cyphaz8152 Fair point, but imagine how easy would be to add some textured details on small diorama projects without design.
That's it! :D have a nice weekend
you can never go wrong with Amanita muscaria mushrooms
The material you used for the webs looks like batting from the inside of a blanket or quilt :)
Prior to painting, the mushroom (in close up) looked great as is, a milky opalescent cap...spooky.
Indeed, they would surely work great if the toothpick was painted in some way. Perhaps just some wash
this is hevin in quarantine lol, until the glue runs out
Thanks!
This is great for Rangers of Water Deep :D
Those damned mushrooms 🍄
Nice..i really have learned from you, ill be going out to thr Woods to find my suplies..and i used time as fkock .. Lernt from you!
5:45 hol up
*waves in peasant
Fuck!
Why it's so beautiful?!
Wow!
You need to make a video of throne making for miniatures and a Wizard Tower.
Love it 😘
What kind of board is that for the bases? I can't tell just by looking at it. You just say, "the board" but I'm new here and don't knwo if you've mentioned it elsewhere. You say cardboard or cardstock, but knowing exactly is great too. Thanks!
I remember I used to call those dryer sheets "George" as a child. that's what they used for the webs.
Way too thick for a dryer sheet. Plus, the smell would have told him right away what it was, since they are all scented. That's a polyfiber sheet, probably for filtering fish tanks or as a lining under the upholstery of furniture.
I think the next video will be a big hairy spider
The item you used for webs looks like a vacuum cleaner filter
I had to rewind and look at those washes 5 times, but yeah -that dark wash is labeled "negro black" wow
I could use some of this for Unseelie Gloam encounters.
hi, I'm a beginner do-it-yourselfer, and I would like to know how you tear your paints with glue and water
Frick yeah
Hello i from Malaysia , l like to see All your Craft Work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Fantasy Awesome . Can you make something Special in future , Terrian Piece Diorama that can display SD Gundam model or Any action figures character that can Display on the Terrain Piece that you Custom in Future....?
For now I only do only medieval fantasy themed miniatures, I guess your suggestion falls a bit ut of my area. But thanks for the suggestion anyway!
Шиикаарно.
spider web can be fun to do with hot glue :D
What exactly is a "repurposed coffee grind"?
Did you make coffee with it, and then dry out the used grinds?
Or did you just use fresh, but hopefully cheap coffee?
Used and dried
@@BardsCraft very clever👍
A good idea for the web stuff is maybe to apply less, and make it thinner.
That was my thought when Jakob placed it one, but I chose not to interrupt :D
I made this and I wanted to send you a picture, how could I do so...?
